Western Plains Arts Association is pleased to announce a regional swing band’s debut Kansas performance. After Midnight, Colorado’s Premier Swing Band will perform at 3 p.m. CST, Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Cultural Arts Center at Colby Community College, 1255 S. Range.
Award winning clarinetist Roger Campbell leads the hottest jazz band since the Swing Era. After Midnight is the only sextet featured in the Colorado Music Hall of Fame at Red Rocks, considered among leading world venues.
Swinging hard since 1997, this extraordinary group of musicians has performed hundreds of concerts around the country for jazz festivals, clubs, weddings, summer concerts, and more. They conquer dizzying charts by the likes of Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Lionel Hampton, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra. This infectious music is guaranteed to get you dancing, swinging, and smiling.
The group is a regular favorite at the annual Evergreen Jazz Festival and has released nine albums in their nearly 25 years of entertaining.
Other band members scheduled to appear are: Mike McCullough – Guitar/Vocals; Rick Weingarten – Vibraphone/Vocals; Dwight Thompson – Bass; Andy Weyl – Piano; and Jim Moore – Drums.

Immediately following the performance family and friends of the late Ken Gatlin, long-time Colby area resident, will host a memorial bench dedication and reception in honor of this long-time WPAA board member. All concert attendees are invited.
