WAKEENEY - Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at WaKeeney, 403 South 13th, will host its 18th annual Memorial Day service at 10 a.m. Monday, May 29.
Guest speaker is retired U.S. Army veterinarian Fr. Richard Daise, Hays.
The service will feature:
* Marine Corps League E.A. Schumacher Detachment
* WaKeeney VFW
* Cavalry Re-enactment Troop (under the direction of Jake Bauer)
* American Legion Riders
* Punishers M.C.
* Hays High Plains Chapter Barbershop Chorus
* WaKeeney VFW Auxiliary (Peggy White & MaDonna Richeson)
Taps will be played by Trego Community High School Band member Gage Hilmes. Bagpipes will be played by Rev. Randy Gibbs.
Seating is limited. Lawn chairs are welcome.
North gates will be open for additional parking. Handicapped parking available near the shelter area.
