🏀🥎 TMP’s VonLintel headed to Barton as a two-sport athlete

Thomas More Prep-Marian senior Jaci VonLintel made it official Tuesday, signing her letter of intent to play both basketball and softball at Barton County College next season.

After spending her entire life playing both sports, VonLintel said she is grateful to be given the opportunity to play both basketball and softball at the next level.

“It feels great because I don’t have to give one up,” VonLintel said. “Because I always thought like, ' Dang, I’m going to have to pick one.'But now, I have to opportunity to go play both and excel in both.”

VonLintel led the TMP-M basketball team in every major statistical category last season. She averaged 13.8 points per game along with nine rebounds, 5.5 steals, three assists and two blocks per game.

She was a two-time all Mid-Continent League selection, earning first-team honors this past season.

On the softball diamond, VonLintel led the Monarchs with a .486 average as a junior. She amassed a team-high 12 extra base hits with three home runs and led the team with 35 RBI’s and was second with 31 runs scored.

The Monarchs softball season begins Friday at home against Russell.
