Eagle Media-Hays General Manager Todd Lynd has announced his retirement, effective April 3.
Eagle has named Katie Dorzweiler, Eagle Media-Hays digital marketing leader, as the new general manager. She will assume her role as of Lynd's departure on April 3.
Lynd has been the general manager for Eagle Media-Hays since 1999.
He has led the Hays team to Lead Eagle, the top market in Eagle Media's three-state coverage area, not once, but eight times in the past decade.
"I have seen Todd in action for the past 26 years, and nobody does it better. He is a true 100/0 employee-owner leader, always giving 100% with no excuses for not being successful," Gary Shorman, Eagle Media chairman, said.
"Not only has he led our team in the Hays market, but he has been a part of our leadership team company-wide, joining our board of directors as an advisory member. We all wish Todd and his family the very best in this next adventure into retirement."
Dorzweiler said of Lynd, "The team here consists of veteran sellers, broadcasters, journalists and administrative staff because he empowered each of us to act as employee-owners."

Lynd has served on the Hays Recreation Commission board of directors, supported and assisted the Relay for Life Golf Tournament, been a sponsor of Women Who Lead, and is serving on the Eagle board of advisers and Heart of America board.
A retirement reception is open to the community. From 4-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, guests are encouraged to stop by and wish Lynd well as he says goodbye to Eagle and starts chasing his grandkids.
Dorzweiler is a 2010 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in political science.
She was a property manager for DP Management. She oversaw Big Creek Crossing in Hays before being hired at Eagle Media in 2018, where she served as general manager of Eagle Marketing Solutions.
She assumed the role of digital marketing leader in January 2020.
Dorzweiler has also been heavily involved in the community. She just completed a year as president of The Chamber in Hays. She has also served as a Kiwanis member, Heartland Community Foundation board member, Fort Hays Tech North West-Business Management Advisory Board member, and as a member of Women Who Lead and Immaculate Heart of Mary parish.
