Beginning Wednesday, General Custer will be closed from Downing to Centennial Blvd. in Hays.

 This is the second phase of a project to reconstruct General Custer from 22nd Street to Centennial. 

Construction is expected to last several weeks. 

&nbsp;The section of General Custer from 22nd Street to Downing should be opened to traffic by Oct. 1.&nbsp;
