RUSSELL — The next exhibition opens at the Deines Cultural Center, Russell, on Friday, Aug. 12, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Deines is proud to present the Artists at Large of Central Kansas with their show Visual Delights.

The AAL formed several years ago in Great Bend. It is a group of dedicated artists that meet monthly to share creative ideas and show art. They create drawings from a wide variety of ideas and inspirations. These artists work in an array of mediums -  clay, collage, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, oil, and sculpture.  Some of them work representationally, some prefer an abstracted realism, and occasionally they might wander into the world of complete abstraction.

These artists find joy in seeing what other members of the group are focused on and intrigued with. They are always looking for ways to expand their own approach to creativity.  Sometimes, different members demonstrate their own techniques representing ideas, or new mediums they have tried.

The Deines Cultural Center is located in Russell at 820 N. Main. Call 785-483-3742 for information.
