Hays Medical Center also reported today that visitor restrictions have been removed, except for face masks, which will remain a requirement for visitors and staff.

They have also discontinued their daily COVID patient counts.

Earlier this month, the Kansas Hospital Association reported 54 percent of eligible Ellis County residents (5 and older) are considered fully vaccinated — a figure that has remained constant for several weeks.

The Mayo Clinic reported that as of Friday, just more than 65 percent of all eligible Americans and about 61 percent of eligible Kansans are considered fully vaccinated.

Since reporting began, there have been 7,133 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County, including 79 coronavirus-related deaths.
