Following a three-year varsity career, Hays High senior Roy Moroni will continue his football journey at the same stadium he played home games at. The Indians' starting running back will play for Fort Hays State University.

A signing ceremony was held Wednesday, one week following the official decision on national signing day for college football.

Roy Moroni

Moroni ran for 1,106 yards during his senior season while averaging 7.6 yards per carry. He also scored 17 rushing touchdowns and crossed the goal line on two more touchdowns on receptions.

He ended his career with 1,944 yards and a per carry average of 6.4 yards to go along with 24 total touchdowns.

Moroni was part of an offense that set a school record in total yards and rushing yards along with total points scored.

He holds the fourth best mark for rushing yards in a season, third for season points scored, and fourth in career rushing yards.
