TOPEKA — Representative Barb Wasinger, R-Hays, issued the following statement:
“As a former athlete who competed before the days that Title IX became law, I know firsthand how important the advances made in the last 50 years are for women’s sports and the significance of protecting them. I’m proud to stand today in support of women’s athletics and carry the motion to override Gov. Kelly’s veto of the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act in honor all of our daughters and granddaughters who deserve every right afforded to their male counterparts.”
