The HaysMed Volunteer Bazaar Food and Craft Sale will offer individuals a chance to do some early Christmas shopping while supporting a local non-profit.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in the HaysMed Hadley Rooms, Entrance C, 2220 Canterbury Drive.
Nikki Mihm, director of volunteer services, said more than 60 volunteers will be providing baked goods.
“There are also seven dedicated crafters that meet the second Tuesday of each month at HaysMed to work on projects for the annual Bazaar,” Mihm said, adding, “They work on their own time at home completing projects, as well.”
She said, “Proceeds from the event will benefit projects at HaysMed. Some of these projects include the patient clothing closet, stickers and stuffed animals for pediatric patients, upgrades to the fitness trail, and scholarships for local students, to name a few.”
On that Friday, individuals will also be able to get 25 percent off any one item in the Volunteer Corner Gift Shop.
"We are excited to welcome the community to our annual Volunteer Bazaar Food and Craft Sale,” Mihm said. “It's a wonderful opportunity to find unique gifts, enjoy great food, and support the important work of our volunteers. Every purchase helps us continue giving back and making a difference for patients, families, and our community."
Cash, checks, or payroll deduction from HaysMed employees will be accepted. Mihm encouraged anyone interested in joining the HaysMed Volunteers to contact her at nikki.mihm@haysmed.com.
“We’re always looking for new members to join in the fun,” she said.
