The Bricks
One of Downtown Hays' longest-standing summer traditions returns on Saturday, July 25, as Bazaar on The Bricks transforms downtown into a lively shopping destination filled with sidewalk sales, pop-up vendors, nonprofit fundraisers, family activities, and community connection.
From 7:30 a.m. to noon, shoppers are invited to explore Main Street between 8th and 12th Streets, as well as participating businesses along 11th and 12th Streets, where sidewalk specials, unique shopping opportunities, and family-friendly activities will create a festive atmosphere throughout downtown.
Visitors can browse everything from local makers and specialty products to summer clearance sales from downtown retailers, while also enjoying the Downtown Hays Market at the Pavilion, featuring fresh produce, baked goods, handmade goods, local beef, flowers, soaps, books, and more.
Families can enjoy free activities throughout the morning, including a bounce house provided by the Hays Convention & Visitors Bureau and interactive bucket drumming with the Fort Hays State University Percussion Department.
"Bazaar on The Bricks Sidewalk Sale has been a Downtown Hays tradition for decades, even before Downtown Hays Development Corporation was formed," said Lee Ann June, executive director of The Bricks in Downtown Hays. "It's one of those events people look forward to each summer because it combines great shopping, incredible deals, and a fun atmosphere. Our downtown retailers pull out their summer specials, and it's a wonderful opportunity to spend the morning exploring everything downtown has to offer."
Visitors are encouraged to stroll beyond Main Street and discover specials happening throughout downtown. From sidewalk sales and pop-up vendors to local restaurants, nonprofits, and unique shops, there are deals and experiences waiting around every corner.
Public parking is available west of Main Street on 9th and 10th Streets.
