Sternberg Museum of Natural History
Author Melanie Bonner Thomas, daughter of renowned paleontologist, Marion Bonner, will be doing a presentation at Sternberg Museum at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 1 about her father Marion Bonner and the Bonner family's connection to the Sternberg family.
In addition, she will be hosting a book signing for her new book, "Old Man of the Fossil Beds" about her father's legacy.
There will also be a display of Bonner's fossils from the Sternberg collection, many not presently on display. Bonner's discoveries are known world-wide.
In addition to Sternberg Museum, Bonner's finds are on display at Royal Tyrell Museum in Canada, Los Angeles County Museum, Field Museum in Chicago, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, American Museum of Natural History in New York, University of Kansas Natural History Museum, and Keystone Gallery in Scott City, Kansas.
This event is hosted by Sternberg Museum of Natural History and the Kansas Post Rock Limestone Coalition. The event is free and open to the public.
