Kansas ranks No. 1 in the U.S. for the production of winter wheat.
In 2021, Kansas farmers harvested seven million acres of winter wheat, producing 364 million bushels and the state produced about 22% of the nation’s wheat.
Farmers and anyone else interested are invited to attend the annual Ellis County Wheat Demonstration Plot Field Day on Thursday, June 1 beginning at 6:00 p.m.
