In his tweet, Kanak dedicated the commitment to his late father who was killed in an automobile accident.

"July 30, 2008, my father Jason Alyn Kanek lost his life in an automobile accident. I wanted to honor him and take a day that was once full of tragedy and pain, and make a dream come true on the very day 13 years later."

"God works in mysterious ways and I cannot express how thankful I am for the position I am in today. None of these opportunities would be possible however without the help of family, friends, teammates, coaches, and of course my guardian angel."

Kanak added "I would like to also thank all of the coaches who dedicated their time and effort to recruiting me and express my gratitude for the relationships I built with them. It has been a crazy process and an incredible blessing. With all that being said, I'm excited go announce that after much thought and consideration, I am ALLIN to Clemson University!"
