The Bricks in Downtown Hays
The Bricks in Downtown Hays is inviting businesses, organizations, schools, clubs, families and community groups to be part of one of Hays’ favorite holiday traditions: the FrostFest Parade.
The 2026 FrostFest Parade will light up Main Street at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, with this year’s theme, “A Gingerbread Christmas.”
FrostFest is part of Christmas Magic on Main Street, a community-driven holiday initiative supported by The Bricks in Downtown Hays. Through the generosity of local businesses, donors and volunteers, Christmas Magic on Main Street brings festive lights, family-friendly activities and cherished holiday traditions to Downtown Hays throughout the season.
Parade participation is free, and entries are open to everyone. Participants can create an illuminated float, decorate a vehicle or trailer, walk as a group, bring a marching band or dance team, include animals, or come up with their own creative way to bring the gingerbread theme to life.
“Some of the best parade entries start with one fun idea and a group of people willing to make it happen,” said Lee Ann June, executive director of The Bricks in Downtown Hays. “Pick a theme, gather your people, build something together and bring it to Main Street. We want to see what this community can dream up for A Gingerbread Christmas.”
This year’s theme offers plenty of room for creativity, from traditional gingerbread houses and candy-covered creations to gingerbread people, sweet holiday scenes and imaginative takes on a Christmas classic.
Entries will also have the opportunity to compete for parade honors, including the People’s Choice Award and Judges’ Choice Award, each featuring a $100 cash prize, along with additional parade categories. Category awards require more than one eligible entry in the category.
Businesses, nonprofits, churches, schools, marching bands, dance studios, civic organizations, clubs, families and individuals are all encouraged to participate.
Parade entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29.
