It's hot and dry in Kansas.
According to the newly released drought map for Kansas from the U.S. Drought Monitor, drought is increasing in the state. More than 60% of Kansas is experiencing some kind of drought condition.
All of Ellis County is listed as being abnormally dry as of Aug. 11.
The weather forecast is calling for a chance of rain and thunderstorms beginning Thursday night and continuing through Monday.
