The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a winter weather advisory for portions of northwest Kansas, including Ellis and Rush counties.
Forecasters are calling for light snow with accumulation up to 2 inches. The snow will be accompanied by wind gusts of up to 35 mph.
The weather could lead to slippery roads and the NWS expects the Tuesday morning commute to be impacted.
The advisory will be in effect until from midnight Monday through midnight Tuesday.

After a record-breaking Super Bowl Sunday that saw a high of 80 degrees, winter weather quickly returned — with temperature swings in excess of 50 degrees expected by Tuesday.
Tuesday also brings a chance of snow in northwest Kansas, with the National Weather Service in Dodge City and Goodland forecasting the possibility of up to 2 inches of snow in Hays and most of northwest Kansas.
The snow is expected to begin after midnight and continue through the day Tuesday.
The shift in weather also will bring high winds from the northeast, with gusts of up to 30 mph.
