The Hays High Unified Bowling team finished as state runner-up in Topeka on Tuesday. The Indians rolled a 945 for the second place score. Hays' score was 122 pins better than their regional score of 823.
The team was comprised of Ethan Kuhlmann, Keaton Brown, Tyler Huhyn, Ben Bergman, Lucas Miller and Loucinda Meade. Richard Hodges is the coach.
It is the second time in the three year history of the program that the Indians have qualified for state.
The Western Athletic Conference performed well overall at state. Great Bend took the state championship over Hays. Liberal placed third and Garden City fourth.
