The Hays Larks will open the 2021 NBC World Series on Thursday, Aug. 5 against the Mid-Crest, Illinois Pumas at 3p.m.
The first five days of the 87th NBC World Series will be played at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson with the final six days of the event hosted by the Wichita Wind Surge at Riverfront Stadium in Wichita.
The Larks enter the NBC World Series 29-6 and are coming off clinching their second straight Rocky Mountain Baseball League championship in their second year as a member of the league.
The Mid-Crest Pumas are members of the Chicago Suburban League and finished 8-19 on the season.
The winner will advance to a Saturday matchup with the winner of the Hutchinson Monarchs and the San Diego Stars. The losers will also matchup Saturday in an elimination game.
The Great Bend Bat Cats open world series play against the on Wednesday against Lonestar, Texas.
