HAYS – TMP-Marian senior Jace Wentling signed his National Letter of Intent Tuesday to play baseball at Neosho County Community College.
Wentling enters his senior season a career .428 hitter with 23 RBIs and 60 runs scored.
As a junior he hit a team-best .500 (36-72) and he safely in 21-of-23 games, all while hitting out of the leadoff spot in the lineup.
Wentling was also 1-3 with a 3.42 ERA as a pitcher. He appeared in eight games on the mound, with six starts, and allowed 15 earned runs in 30.2 innings pitched. He struck out 32 and issued 22 walks on the season.
He was also a four-year starter for the TMP-Marian football team, garnering several all-league honors, a starter on the TMP boys basketball team and he won the 3A state long jump last spring.
