The Special Olympics Kansas Basketball and Cheerleading Tournament is quickly approaching and more than 200 volunteers are needed to make the event unforgettable for more than 750 athletes and coaches.

On March 17 and 18, Special Olympics athletes from all over central and western Kansas will converge on Hays. Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in cheerleading, individual skills and team basketball play throughout the two days.

Volunteers are still needed in nearly all areas of the event. Some volunteer roles include scoreboard, scorebook, individual skills and referee.

Anyone interested in volunteering can sign up online.

If you have questions about volunteering, contact Brent Kaiser, Special Olympics Kansas development and sports coordinator (785)-301-8214 or [email protected].
