A fundraiser breakfast will be held Saturday, June 28, 8-11 a.m., at the Hays First United Methodist Church, 305 W. 7th, for four-year-old Emersyn Rice and her family who are former Hays residents.
Emersyn was recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy and the Rices moved to be closer to her medical specialists.
The message below is from parents Jessie and Talon Rice.
"Our families would like to thank our hometown of Hays and the western Kansas communities for your ongoing love, prayers, and support as we continue to navigate Emersyn’s journey.
"have experienced overwhelming kindness from the time Emersyn was born at 26 weeks gestation in 2021 and her recent cerebral palsy diagnosis.
"We want to extend that heartfelt gratitude and thank Lisa Gagnon, one of Emersyn’s nurses from our time at Hays Medical Center, who so kindly is putting this benefit together for our family.
"All outpouring of love and support will go towards Emersyn’s continued medical costs.
"Emersyn is our miracle, one who continues to shine brightly and brings so much joy to the world. Keep shining, Emersyn! We are so proud of you!"
