ELLIS — Ellis high school football coach James Johnston has resigned his position.
Johnston, who was in his first season at Ellis, confirmed to Hays Post this week he submitted his resignation to the USD 388 Board of Education.
No interim coach has been named.
Ellis is 0-2 on the season and will host Lakin on Friday.
