Noon Monday was the deadline for candidates to file for the August primary election.
In Ellis County, Michael Berges filed for reelection for Ellis County Commission District No. 1. He was the only candidate to file for the seat.
Several candidates also filed for open township clerk positions and precinct committeeman and committeewoman seats.

In the Kansas House, 111th District incumbent Barb Wasinger will only face a Democratic challenger in the November election, as she and Melanie McMillan are running unopposed in the primary election.
Three Republicans filed for the 110th District seat to replace incumbent Ken Rahjes, who is running for lieutenant governor alongside Scott Schwab.
Max L. Dibble, of Phillipsburg, Marvin Matchett, of Norton, and Cody Ward, of Logan, will face off in the primary.
Democrat Mark Schaukowitch, of Plainville, is running unopposed.
There are two Republicans vying for District No. 5 on the State Board of Education. Kelly Ancar, of Hays, will face Jean Clifford, of Garden City, in the primary.
There are three Democrats and seven Republicans vying for governor.
Democrats Ethan Corson, Cindy Holscher and Curt Skoog will square off in the August primary election, with the winner advancing to face the Republican nominee.
The list of Republicans who filed for governor includes Ty Masterson, Charlotte O’Hara, Nick Reinecker, Stacy L. Rogers, Philip Sarnecki, Vicki Schmidt and Scott Schwab.
In the race for U.S. House of Representatives, incumbent Tracy Mann faces a challenge from Craig Musser, of Ellinwood, in the Republican primary.
U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall faces a challenge from Republican Pond Naramore, of Lawrence.
There are 11 Democrats lined up to face each other in the primary election.
That list includes Damon Anderson, Christy Davis, Adam Hamilton, Jason Hart, Kevin Latz, Erik Murray, Sandy Spidel Neumann, Anne Parelkar, Patrick C. Schmidt, Michael “Mike” Soetaert and Noah Taylor.
