Hays High plays consecutive Centennial League opponents as they host Emporia Friday evening.
Three of the four teams are ranked in 5A. The Hays girls (8-1) are ranked 5th and face an improved Emporia (4-5) squad that has already matched their win total of last season.
The Hays boys (6-3) are ranked 8th. They take on an Emporia (9-0) team that was unranked prior to the Christmas break and then debuted in the first rankings of 2026 in the 3rd spot.
