Sternberg Museum
Celebrate National Fossil Day with FREE ADMISSION to the Sternberg Museum of Natural History, 3000 Sternberg Drive, Hays, on Sunday, October 15.
National Fossil Day was started by the National Park Service as an annual celebration held to highlight the scientific and educational value of paleontology and the importance of preserving fossils for future generations.
This year’s theme at the Sternberg Museum is “Dinosaurs of Kansas” with special displays and activities from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. You can explore the dinosaur fossil record of Kansas, find out why dinosaur fossils are so rare here, and hear about ongoing dinosaur research at the Museum. You can even learn more about the Kansas dinosaurs still around today!
This is a free event with dinosaur-themed displays, activities, and crafts appropriate for all ages.
