The Downtown Hays Market is celebrating National Farmers Market Week, August 2–8, with special promotions, giveaways and activities leading up to the market on Saturday, August 8, from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Downtown Pavilion.

National Farmers Market Week is an annual celebration recognizing the important role farmers markets play in supporting local growers and producers, strengthening local economies, increasing access to fresh food and creating places for communities to gather.

Throughout the week, community members can enter to win a Downtown Hays Market merchandise basket. To enter, participants should like and follow the Downtown Hays Market on both Facebook and Instagram. The winner will be drawn and announced on Friday and may pick up the prize at Saturday’s market.

Market supporters can also receive a free Downtown Hays Market logo tote with the purchase of any market shirt or hat. This promotion is available while supplies last.

On Saturday morning, visitors can participate in a special Downtown Hays Market logo scavenger hunt. DHM logos will be hidden throughout the market, and the first 15 shoppers to complete the hunt will receive Downtown Hays Market Bucks and merchandise.

“National Farmers Market Week gives us an opportunity to recognize the vendors, shoppers and community partners who make the Downtown Hays Market possible,” said Lee Ann June, executive director of The Bricks in Downtown Hays. “Every purchase made at the market supports a local maker, grower or baker while helping create a vibrant Saturday morning gathering place for our community.”

The Downtown Hays Market is held every Saturday from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Downtown Pavilion, 110 E 10th St. Shoppers can find locally grown produce, baked goods, handmade products and more from area makers, growers and bakers.
