ELLIS COUNTY CLERK

With the 2026 Primary Election just weeks away, Ellis County Clerk, Bobbi Dreiling is encouraging voters to plan and become familiar with their voting options before Election Day on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Voters wishing to vote by mail may request an Advance Voting Mail application by calling the Ellis County Clerk's Office at 785-628-9410 or stopping by the Clerk's Office at 718 Main St. in Hays. Advance mail ballots will be mailed beginning July 15.

Completed advance mail ballots may be returned by mail, delivered to the Ellis County Clerk's Office at 718 Main St., dropped off at any polling location on Election Day, or deposited in the secure ballot drop box conveniently located in the alley behind the Ellis County Administrative Center at 718 Main St.

Voters are reminded that Kansas no longer allows the three-day grace period for advance ballots returned by mail. All advance ballots must be received by the Ellis County Clerk's Office no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

Early in-person voting will be available at the Ellis County Clerk's Office during the following times:

· 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 31

· 9 a.m.–noon Saturday, Aug. 1

· 8 a.m.–noon Monday, Aug. 3:

On Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 4, polling locations throughout Ellis County will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Voters should report to their regular polling location. Anyone unsure of where to vote is encouraged to contact the Ellis County Clerk's Office.

This year's Primary Election ballot includes a Constitutional Amendment question. Libertarian, United Kansas, and unaffiliated voters who choose not to affiliate with a political party may vote on the Constitutional Amendment only.

Because the Constitutional Amendment is lengthy, Dreiling encourages voters to review a sample ballot before heading to the polls. Sample ballots are available online at https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/VoterView or a sample ballot may be picked up at the Ellis County Clerk's Office.

"Our goal is to make voting as convenient and accessible as possible while ensuring every eligible voter has the information they need before Election Day," said Ellis County Clerk Bobbi Dreiling. "Whether you choose to vote by mail, vote early, or vote at your polling place on Aug. 4, I encourage everyone to review their ballot, verify their polling location, and make a plan to vote."

Residents with questions about voting, advance ballots, polling locations, or the upcoming Primary Election are encouraged to contact the Ellis County Clerk's Office at 785-628-9410.
