NEW YORK (AP) — It’s the players’ union turn at the plate.

Major League Baseball owners gave the go-ahead Monday to making a proposal to the union that could lead to the coronavirus-delayed season starting around the Fourth of July weekend in ballparks without fans, a plan that envisions expanding the designated hitter to the National League for 2020.

A person familiar with the decision tells The Associated Press that spring training would start in early to mid-June.

MLB officials are slated to make a presentation to the union on Tuesday. An agreement with the players' association is needed, and talks are expected to be difficult — especially over a proposal for a revenue split that would be unprecedented for baseball.

Each team would play about 82 regular-season games: against opponents in its own division plus interleague matchups limited to AL East vs. NL East, AL Central vs. NL Central and AL West vs. NL West.

Postseason play would be expanded from 10 clubs to 14 by doubling wild cards in each league to four.

Teams would prefer to play at their regular-season ballparks but would switch to spring training stadiums or neutral sites if medical and government approvals can’t be obtained for games at home. Toronto might have to play home games in Dunedin, Florida.

The All-Star Game, scheduled for Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on July 14, likely would be called off.

MLB owners approve plan to start season in July

NCAA President Mark Emmert says the coronavirus is making it unlikely all schools will be ready to begin competing in college sports at the same time.

The goal, he said Friday night, is for every team to have an equal amount of preparation time before its season starts, and there could be some competitive inequities caused by schools having varied timelines for re-opening campuses.

Emmert appeared with Dr. Brian Hainline, the NCAA’s chief medical officer, in an interview shown on the NCAA’s official Twitter account Friday night.

Major football conference commissioners have stated their goal is for all 130 teams in 10 conferences across 41 states to begin the season at the same time. As states impacted differently by the COVID-19 pandemic re-open on different schedules, the possibility rises that the season will lack a uniform start date and number of games.

“I think we should assume that’s going to be the case,” Emmert said.

For football, the working plan is six weeks of conditioning and practice before playing games, though that’s not “set in stone,” Hainline said.

“All the various (NCAA) member committees and the conferences are all talking about: What does it mean if we have that sort of scenario where we’ve got different opening times or different opening models,” Emmert said.

“What does it mean if you look at a conference, for example, if a conference has some schools open and some not?” he added. “You can’t run a regular schedule if you’ve got that scenario. How do you adjust all the rules to provide as much flexibility as you possibly can to let student-athletes have a good experience in that season?”

FBS schools are required by NCAA rules to play at least nine games, including five at home.

The FBS season is scheduled to begin around Labor Day weekend, with a handful of teams starting the Aug. 29, the Saturday before Labor Day.

Most teams are scheduled to play 12 regular-season games through Thanksgiving weekend. The first weekend of December each FBS conference plays a league championship game.

“We aren’t going to have one national time when everyone can start preseason so there’s going to be a little bit of inequity there,” Hainline said. “The most important thing is what’s going to be the minimum amount of time necessary that you have to be in preseason, for example, before you can start football.”

Emmert said member schools and conferences are working toward moving forward together.

“I think it’s unlikely everybody is going to be in the same place at the same time and that will create some of those difficulties,” he said.

Emmert also reiterated a common refrain from college sports leaders in recent weeks: There can be no college sports on campuses that are not open to students.

Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby told the online sports network Stadium earlier this week there could be room for athletes to compete in a situation where a school is only offering online classes.

Emmert seemed to draw a more distinct line.

“If you don’t have students on campus, you don’t have student-athletes on campus,” he said. “That doesn’t mean it has to be up and running in the full normal model, but you’ve got to treat the health and well-being of the athletes at least as much as the regular students. So if a school doesn’t reopen, then they’re not going to be playing sports. It’s really that simple.”

🎤 KSHSAA director discusses future of high school activities

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Football League announced on Thursday the regular season schedule for the 2020 season. The Chiefs will be featured in five primetime contests, including two nationally televised games at Arrowhead Stadium.

“The releasing of the 2020 NFL schedule reinforces each year that we have the opportunity to compete against some of the great teams in this league,” Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid said. “I know our organization and fans get excited for these challenges. We look forward to raising last year’s Super Bowl championship banner and all that comes with defending our title in the 2020 season.”

Kansas City will kick off its quest to defend its Super Bowl title on the NFL’s opening night against the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 10. The contest will be a rematch of last year’s AFC Divisional playoff game where the Chiefs overcame a 24-0 deficit to defeat the Texans 51-31. Additionally, in celebration of the club’s victory in Super Bowl LIV, the team will raise its championship banner in front of Chiefs Kingdom.

In Week 2, the Chiefs will kick off divisional play in search of a fifth-straight AFC West title, traveling to Los Angeles to face the Chargers in their new stadium on Sept. 20. Kansas City is 22-2 against the AFC West over the last four seasons and is currently on a seven-game win streak against the division. In Reid’s seven seasons with the Chiefs, the club is 32-10 against the AFC West (12-2 vs. LVR, 11-3 vs. LAC, 9-5 vs. DEN).

KC’s second primetime contest is in Week 3 when the club travels to Baltimore to face the Ravens on ESPN’s Monday Night Football on Sept. 28. The Chiefs return home for back-to-back games at Arrowhead vs. the Patriots on Oct. 4 followed by the Raiders on Oct. 11. On Oct. 15, KC travels to Buffalo to face the Bills on Thursday Night Football followed by another road contest against the Denver Broncos on Oct. 25. The Chiefs will take on the New York Jets on Nov. 1 and the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 8, both contests at Arrowhead Stadium. This will be Carolina’s first visit to Kansas City since the 2012 season. NFL releases Kansas City Chiefs 2020 schedule

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. —&nbsp;For the second consecutive season, Broncos Country will have to be patient.

The Broncos announced their 2020 schedule on Thursday evening, and the team's season-opening game falls at the very end of the Week 1 slate.

Denver will host the AFC finalist Tennessee Titans in the second game of a "Monday Night Football" doubleheader on ESPN to wrap up the season's first weekend.

The Broncos' matchup against the Titans is one of three prime-time games the Broncos are slated to play in 2020.

The season opener is one of Denver's six games against 2019 playoff teams, as the Broncos also face the Patriots (Week 5, Chiefs (Week 7, Week 13, Saints (Week 12) and Bills (Week 15).

After playing two of its first three games at home, the Broncos will head out for two consecutive road games against the Jets in Week 4 on "Thursday Night Football" and against the Patriots in Week 5.

The Broncos have three two-game road stretches, but they do not have one of the league's dreaded three-game road trips. Denver, though, plays consecutive home games just twice during the 2020 slate. They are scheduled to play the Chiefs and Dolphins at home in Weeks 6 and 7, consecutively, and the Chargers and Saints at Empower Field at Mile High in Weeks 11 and 12.

As Drew Lock, Von Miller and Co. aim to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season, they may need to improve upon their 3-3 division record from 2019. Denver should have time for its young offense to jell before those divisional matchups begin. The Broncos don't play their first division game until the Week 7 matchup against the Chiefs and play five of their six division games from Week 10 until the end of the year.

Two of those matchups — at the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10 and at the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16 — will mark the Broncos' first regular-season trips to new stadiums. The Raiders are moving into Allegiant Stadium after heading to Las Vegas from Oakland following the 2019 season, while the Chargers are simply transitioning to a more permanent home.

The Broncos are slated to play in the Chargers' home stadium, SoFi Stadium, in Week 3 of the preseason when they travel to play the Rams. Denver will play San Francisco and Chicago at home to begin the preseason before going on the road to face the Rams and Cardinals.

The Broncos' games against the Raiders and Chargers aren't the only ones that should attract interest. Denver's second matchup against the Chiefs, a Week 13 prime-time matchup, is the Broncos' first "Sunday Night Football" appearance since 2017. All "Sunday Night Football" games from Weeks 5-16 are eligible to be flexed out of the Sunday night time slot.

The Broncos' divisional games, though, are just a piece of the puzzle.

Denver's schedule is comprised of six games against divisional opponents, four games against the AFC East, four games against the NFC South and a pair of games against second-place finishers from the AFC North and AFC South.

The Broncos have not played the NFC South since 2016, when they went 3-1 against the division. This time, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers (Week 3) and Drew Brees and the Saints (Week 12) could provide tough tests in Denver.

While most of the Broncos' slate is finalized, two of Denver's late-season games have not been finalized. Their Week 15 and Week 16 games against the Bills and Chargers could be played on either Saturday or Sunday of the respective weeks. Those finalized dates and times will be announced later in the season.

The Broncos' bye week is slated for Week 8.

Here's a quick look at each game on the Broncos' regular-season schedule:

Week 1: Broncos vs. Titans (Monday, Sept. 14, 8:10 p.m. MT, ESPN)

The Broncos meet last year's AFC finalist in Week 1, and the Titans owe some of their success to Denver's 16-0 win when the teams met last season. Ryan Tannehill replaced Marcus Mariota late in that game, and the Titans went on to win nine of their next 12 games to reach the AFC Championship. The Broncos will have to stand up against running back Derrick Henry, who was dominant late in the year, but new addition Jurrell Casey could help in his first game against his former team.

Week 2: Broncos at Steelers (Sunday, Sept. 20, 11 a.m. MT, CBS)

The Broncos catch the Steelers early in the schedule, which could prove to be fortuitous as Ben Roethlisberger returns from an elbow injury that cost him almost all of the 2019 season. Shelby Harris picked off Roethlisberger in the end zone to secure a 24-17 win in 2018. The Broncos haven't played in Pittsburgh since 2015.

Week 3: Broncos vs. Buccaneers (Sunday, Sept. 27, 2:25 p.m. MT, FOX)

Denver beat the Buccaneers in Tampa in 2016, but this is a much different team. Tom Brady now holds the reins in "Tompa Bay," and tight end Rob Gronkowski has returned from retirement to help his former Patriot teammate. He may need it. Brady has a losing record against just one NFL team: Denver. He's 8-9 against the Broncos, including postseason games.

Week 4: Broncos at Jets (Thursday, Oct. 1, 6:20 p.m. MT, NFL Network)

The Broncos return to MetLife Stadium for the first time since 2018, when they were run over by the Jets. New York rushed for 323 yards in that 34-16 win. Third-year quarterback Sam Darnold will look to extend the Jets' streak to two games over the Broncos, but Denver was successful in its last "Thursday Night Football" road game. They beat the Cardinals 45-10 in 2018.

Week 5: Broncos at Patriots (Sunday, Oct. 11, 11 a.m. MT, CBS)

After a 10-day layoff, the Broncos will face the Patriots for the first time in the post-Brady era. Bill Belichick will still be the coach, but who will be at quarterback for New England? That's the major question, and it could decide whether the Broncos get their first win over the Patriots since the 2015 postseason.

Week 6: Broncos vs. Dolphins (Sunday, Oct. 18, 2:05 p.m. MT, CBS)

The Broncos' revenge tour against the AFC East will continue against the Dolphins, who beat the Broncos 35-9 in 2017. Denver is 1-6 in its last seven games against AFC East teams. Could fifth-overall pick Tua Tagovailoa be leading the charge for the 'Fins by this point?

Week 7: Broncos vs. Chiefs (Sunday, Oct. 25, 2:25 p.m. MT, CBS)

The Broncos have lost nine consecutive games to the Chiefs, but they've been close at home the last few years — excluding last season's 30-6 loss. The Broncos lost a one-possession game in 2018 after holding a double-digit fourth-quarter lead, and the 2016 matchup was decided in the waning moments of overtime. For the first time, the Broncos' new offensive additions will be put to the test against the best of the AFC West. The Chiefs have won the division in each of the previous four seasons.

The Raiders passed on Jeudy to take Ruggs with the 12th-overall pick – will Jeudy make them pay in this game? The Broncos haven't beaten the Raiders on the road since 2015, but maybe a change in scenery will help.

Week 11: Broncos vs. Chargers (Sunday, Nov. 22, 2:05 p.m. MT, CBS)

There will be other story lines — we'll get to those in a second — but Chris Harris Jr.'s return to Denver will garner headlines this week. Harris, who was named to the NFL's All-Decade team, spent the first nine years of his career in Denver before signing with the Chargers this offseason. The crowd's reaction will be interesting to watch, to say the least. Melvin Gordon III will also make his first appearance against his former team. Drew Brees and Michael Thomas are the premier players on New Orleans' roster, but Emmanuel Sanders will garner the headlines. This could be the Broncos' toughest game of the entire season, as New Orleans is among the favorites to make a push for the Super Bowl.

The Broncos' first "Sunday Night Football" game since 2017 will be a major test. The Chiefs beat the Broncos 23-3 in the teams' last meeting at Arrowhead. In Lock's second trip to his hometown, can he perform better? He and the offense struggled mightily in 2019. The Broncos will also need to contain Travis Kelce. He remains a thorn in the team's side, as he caught 11 passes for 142 yards in the snow last season.

Week 14: Broncos at Panthers (Sunday, Dec. 13, 11 a.m. MT, CBS)

Head Coach Vic Fangio will return to Carolina, where he served his first stint as an NFL defensive coordinator from 1995-98. The Panthers are expected to be in rebuilding mode in 2020, but Teddy Bridgewater could still provide a challenge. And after a tough home game against the Saints and a Sunday night matchup in Arrowhead, a trip to the east coast for an 11 a.m. MT kick could pose issues.

Broncos announce 2020 schedule

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — The NCAA struck back at the University of Kansas and its men's basketball program Thursday, calling five Level I violations that are alleged to have occurred “egregious” and arguing that they undermine and threaten" college athletics.

In the latest in a series of back-and-forth filings, the NCAA reiterated in a 92-page response its claim that Adidas representatives were acting as boosters when two of them — T.J. Gassnolo and Jim Gatto — helped to arrange payments to prospective recruits. Those transactions became a central point in a wide-ranging FBI probe into college basketball that has ensnared Kansas, Louisville and several other high-profile programs.

“The institution secured significant recruiting and competitive advantages by committing alleged Level I men's basketball violations,” the NCAA said. “The institution, in taking its defiant posture in this case, is indifferent to how alleged violations may have adversely impacted other NCAA institutions who acted in compliance with NCAA legislation.”

Officials from Kansas have said they agree with the NCAA that Gassnola made payments to family members and handlers of two players, Billy Preston and Silvio De Sousa. But coach Bill Self and assistant Kurtis Townsend said they were unaware of the transactions, backing up a statement Gassnola made during sworn testimony.

But the NCAA countered with video and text documents that tie Self, Townsend and another assistant coach, Jerrance Howard, to Gassnola within the past five years. The governing body also pointed out that Adidas paid about $250,000 for an induction party for Self when he was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

This evidence, the NCAA argues, is “overwhelming factual information that demonstrates Adidas, Gassnola and Gatto promoted the institutions interests and, therefore, are boosters.”

“The NCAA enforcement staff’s reply does not in any way change the University of Kansas’ position that the allegations brought against our men’s basketball program are simply baseless and littered with false representations,” the school said. in a statement Thursday. “As the federal trial proved, Adidas employees intentionally concealed impermissible payments from the university and its coaching staff. The university has never denied these impermissible payments were made.

“For the NCAA enforcement staff to allege that the university should be held responsible for these payments is a distortion of the facts and a gross misapplication of NCAA bylaws and case precedent.”

The initial notice of allegations was filed in September, and Kansas officials had 90 days to respond, a deadline that was extended to February. The NCAA enforcement staff then had 60 days to file the reply that came out this week.

In the response, the NCAA laid out its belief that a hearing before the NCAA Committee on Infractions — which has yet to be scheduled — could ultimately decide some of the sticking points in the case. The university would have the opportunity to argue its case before the committee. If the committee ruled on behalf of the NCAA, officials from Kansas would have an opportunity to appeal potentially crippling penalties.

“The university absolutely would accept responsibility if it believe that violations had occurred,” the school said, “as we have demonstrated with other self-reported infractions. Chancellor (Douglas) Girod, (athletic director) Jeff Long and KU stand firmly behind Coach Self, his staff and our men's basketball program, as well as our robust compliance program."

Brock Lummus is this year's Swim Carpenter Smith male athlete of the year and Tasiah Nunnery the Jack Roberts female athlete of the year.

Both were three sport athletes at Hays High. Lummus was a starting offensive lineman, a member of the boys basketball team that advanced to the 5A state semifinals and would have been the starting catcher on the baseball team this spring.

Nunnery was an All-Western Athletic pick in volleyball and basketball and a member of the track team.

UNDATED (AP) - The Big 12 has become the first Power Five conference to say it will hold its football media days virtually.

Big 12 coaches and athletic directors made the decision Wednesday during a virtual spring meeting that replaced their annual gathering in Scottsdale, Arizona.

About 500 media members are usually credentialed to attend Big 12 media days, which were scheduled to be held July 21-22 at AT&amp;T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys and the site of the league’s championship game.

The online media days will likely be held those same dates, though that was tentative.

LAWRENCE, Kan.–&nbsp;The Kansas Athletics Department&nbsp; announced Tuesday that it is lowering prices on many season tickets for the first time since after the 2008-09. Feedback from fans as well as market research has shown that the price and seat location value from the past few seasons have not been aligned.

For the 2020-21 season, Allen Fieldhouse will expand from three to eight pricing tiers, including four tiers that are lower than any season ticket price from last season. This new structure will lower the cost of season tickets for almost 45 percent of Allen Fieldhouse season ticket holders from last year. Additionally, as a proactive measure for Kansas Jayhawk basketball fans that are and will continue to feel the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, a new season ticket price of only $500 has been introduced for the upcoming season.

“Our priority is to keep Allen Fieldhouse as the best homecourt advantage and we cannot do that without our fans,” said Director of Athletics Jeff Long. “We have heard the concerns of some fans that our prices have increased to a level some struggle to meet, and given the economic conditions created by COVID-19, we felt it was a good time to reduce some prices and create more options for our loyal fans. Simply put, we know many of our fans will be struggling when we emerge from this pandemic and we needed to create a more affordable experience or we could risk losing the incredible home court advantage that has made Allen Fieldhouse the best college basketball venue for decades.”

Allen Fieldhouse has long been one of the highest demanded places to watch a basketball game, which is evident by selling out 306 consecutive games dating back to the 2001-02 season. Kansas Basketball is something that draws generations together for one common purpose, cheering the Jayhawks onto victory, and that bond has never been needed more than now.

“Our fans are the best in the country and we have been fortunate to see Allen Fieldhouse sold-out for every game during our 17-seasons here,” said Head Coach Bill Self. “It is unfortunate to see how this pandemic has hit so many, so hard, but hopefully the addition of tiers and lower ticket prices will allow our fans to enjoy Kansas basketball together again soon. Of note with the new pricing structure, is the introduction of a $500 season ticket, which will cost purchasers $475 less than they paid for the lowest priced ticket last season.

Kansas lowering men's basketball season ticket prices for 2020-2021

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –&nbsp;With the NFL announcing that the Kansas City Chiefs 2020 schedule will be released on Thursday evening, single-game and group tickets for all home games will go on sale Friday, May 8.

Season Ticket Members will have an online presale beginning Friday at 11 a.m. The club will notify Season Ticket Members via email with instructions on how to participate.

In continuation of the team’s long-standing policy, the taxpayers of Jackson County, Missouri, will have a presale opportunity to purchase single-game tickets for the 2020 season from 8 – 10 a.m. on Friday. For the first time, the Jackson County taxpayer presale will take place online only, and purchasers must use a credit card with a billing zip code within Jackson County to participate. The Arrowhead Stadium Ticket Office will not be open for any walk-up sales.

Tickets may be purchased&nbsp; at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.chiefs.com/" target="_blank">www.chiefs.com</a>&nbsp;by the public beginning at noon Friday. All single-game and group tickets for Chiefs home games are subject to availability and dynamic pricing. Ticket delivery will be mobile entry only.

If a game is canceled and cannot be rescheduled or is played under conditions that prohibit fans from attending, such as a public authority restricts gatherings to no more than a small number of people, primary ticket and parking purchasers will receive a full refund for any impacted games, including any fees paid. Plains’ Emily Ryan has been named Miss Kansas Basketball by the Kansas
Basketball Coaches Association. The Iowa State signee was a four-time all-state
pick and became only the third Kansas player to score over 3,000 points in hear
career while never losing a high school game.&nbsp;

KBCA names Mr. and Miss Kansas Basketball

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -&nbsp;The MIAA announced a five-year partnership extension with&nbsp;BlueFrame Technology&nbsp;through June 30, 2025. With the extension, BlueFrame continues to be the Association-wide streaming partner of the MIAA Network.

"We are excited to announce a new media partnership with BlueFrame Technology," said&nbsp;MIAA Commissioner Mike Racy. "The MIAA Network is one of the premier digital media platforms in NCAA Division II, and BlueFrame has played a major role in our broadcast success the past three years."

The new agreement allows the MIAA to become the first conference in NCAA Division II to have all its regular-season and championship events behind a paywall. It will also allow fans, who purchase a subscription, to view content in all MIAA sports and not limit them to a sport-specific subscription. The MIAA Network will also structure a new distribution model for how its member institutions share the revenue. All the revenue generated will continue to be returned to the institutions.

"This new agreement will transform the MIAA Network into a unique, pay-to-view college sports platform, unlike any other media property in Division II athletics," explained Commissioner Racy. "As the demand for college sports' media content continues to grow, it is important that the MIAA use cutting edge technology, innovative media concepts, and creative story-telling to connect with our fans. BlueFrame Technology has demonstrated that they are up to the challenge, and we are excited to enter into this new long-term partnership."

A new feature for fans will be having the option to do an annual or monthly subscription. The annual or monthly subscription allows access to all content for the regular-season and conference championship broadcast on The MIAA Network. Regardless of the subscription, fans will no longer be restricted to content from only one sport.

An additional feature for fans will be planned enhancements and minimum broadcast standards for all MIAA broadcasts to provide a consistent viewing experience from each member institution. Fans will also see new benefits like full HD, 1080p video quality, and full distribution through an all-new MIAA Network mobile app for iOS and Android with push notifications.

TOPEKA, Kan. - The KSHSAA Board of Directors has adopted new guidelines for the 2020 summer.

The following are summer guidelines for KSHSAA sponsored activities passed by the KSHSAA Board of&nbsp;Directors on May 1:

When permitted by your community’s local health authorities AND your school district administration, while following all group gathering restrictions and social distancing expectations, school employed coaches may&nbsp;begin their summer programs with their prospective student participants no earlier than June 1. As always,&nbsp;participation by a student in the summer program is voluntary. Similarly, schools may choose what, when, and&nbsp;how often programs are available to their students. 

The following conditions apply for any summer activity&nbsp;taking place in a school facility and/or under the guidance of a school employee:

1. The first calendar week (minimum five days of conditioning) of a summer activity program for any sport&nbsp;are limited to a maximum of three hours of physical activity per student per day.&nbsp;Physical activity includes any warm-up, stretching, conditioning and weight-lifting activities. Organized competition sanctioned by an outside organization or between students from different schools shall not take place during this time.

2. Beginning the second calendar week (minimum five days of conditioning) of a summer activity&nbsp;program, cumulative physical activity time as defined in #1 should not exceed five hours per student per&nbsp;day. Organized competition sanctioned by an outside organization or between students from different&nbsp;schools shall not take place during this time.

3. Students may begin organized competition under the guidance of their school coaches beginning the&nbsp;third week of a summer activity program.

4. One-week school coach team camps may begin after the ten-day acclimatization period detailed in 1 and&nbsp;2 above and take place through August 15.

5. Traditional fall school practices begin, and Handbook restrictions resume, on August 17, 2020.

During the third week, strength and conditioning continues; football related drills permitted; intra-squad 7 on 7 or 5 on 5 permitted; one-week coaches camp permitted (helmet only). 8. Following conditioning period defined in number 7 and through August 3, the following may be&nbsp;conducted:a. Coaches working with their athletes in football related activities. b. 7 on 7 competitions. c. 5 on 5 competitions. d. Coaches one-week team camp (helmet only). e. Strength and conditioning continues. 9. From August 3 through August 15, the following may be conducted:a. Coaches working with their athletes in football related activities. b. One team vs team camps, including college contact camp, is permitted for this summer; must be&nbsp;conducted by third party; maximum of two days; may be conducted anytime after the 15 day&nbsp;conditioning period until August 15.Rationale -&nbsp;Many students have not had the opportunity to train on a regular basis this spring. A gradual&nbsp;acclimation to physical activity has been shown to lower risk of injury. If summer is delayed, a team camp right&nbsp;before the start of fall practice would probably be beneficial.These recommendations are based upon an anticipated practice start date of August 17 for fall sports; if there is&nbsp;a delay in the start, the calendar of recommendations may be modified.KSHSAA release
