HAYS – Tyler Palmer hit two home runs and drove in four runs to lead the Hays Larks to a 12-2, seven inning run-rule victory over the Fort Collins Foxes Saturday evening at Larks Park.
The Larks extend their winning streak to five games and improves to 17-4 and 7-2 in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League where they are alone in first place. The Foxes have lost three straight and six of their last seven and dropped to 10-10-10 and 8-6 in the RMBL.
Palmer hit a two-run homer in the Larks six-run second which gave them the lead for good. Grant Schmidt drove in the first run with a double. Sam Crowell then followed with a two-run single. Leo Jiminian also drove in run with a single. Palmer added a two-run homer in the fourth.
The put the game away with a three-run sixth on RBIs from Matt Cavanagh and Cortland Lawson.
Wyatt Divis pitched four innings of two-hit relief and picked up the win. Divis struck out four and walked one and allowed one run.
