"Over the course of the last month, Collin displayed the type of leadership and planning that put us in a position to execute and be successful in the bowl game against LSU," Klieman said. "He deserves this opportunity, and the constant dialogue and communication that he had with me and with our staff and players throughout the game and the entire bowl preparation period was something that really impressed me. Collin bleeds purple, and I am excited for him to lead our offense." The Tigers rallied past the Mules of Central Missouri in the second half to win 64-59 in the first of two meetings scheduled between the teams this season. FHSU, ranked No. 22 in the latest D2SIDA Top 25 Poll, moved to 11-2 overall, 6-2 MIAA, while UCM dropped to 6-6, 3-5 in the MIAA. Fort Hays State had a rough time shooting the ball in the first half, but still played strong enough defense to only trail 29-20 at halftime in another contest where every possession was critical. FHSU went without scoring for over seven minutes from the 8:48 mark to the 1:33 mark as UCM put together a 12-0 run to take a 27-16 lead. The Tigers managed to get the margin back inside 10 by halftime.

After shooting just 26.9 percent from the field in the first half, FHSU would heat up to shoot 54.5 percent after halftime and climb past the Mules just past the midway point of the second half. The Tigers trimmed the lead to four twice and then finally took it down to three with 11:31 remaining. 🏀 Tiger men rally past Central Missouri

HAYS, Kan. - The third-ranked Fort Hays State women's basketball team used a dominant second half to pull away from Central Missouri Thursday evening (Jan. 6), 84-59. The Tigers (12-1, 6-1 MIAA) led by just two at the break before outscoring the Jennies (9-6, 5-3 MIAA) by 15 in the third quarter and by eight in the final frame. Despite a hot-shooting first half by the visitors, 13 Jennie turnovers allowed the Tigers to take a two-point lead into the locker room, 32-30. Fort Hays State turned those miscues into 15 points off turnovers, helping the Tigers overcome a 57.1 percent first-half shooting effort by UCM (12-of-21).

While Fort Hays State hit just 37.9 percent from the floor before intermission (11-of-29), the Tigers did have success from behind the 3-point line.&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6439">Whitney Randall</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6436">Sydney Golladay</a>&nbsp;were both 2-of-2 from behind the arc in the opening half, while&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6437">Jaden Hobbs</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6445">Megan Earney</a>&nbsp;also added triples for the Tigers in the first two quarters. Hobbs hit two more 3-pointers in the fourth quarter while&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6438">Olivia Hollenbeck</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6441">Jessie Sallach</a>&nbsp;combined for 12 points in the paint in the frame, helping the Tigers grow their lead to 25 points before the final horn. Five Tigers scored in double figures for the third time this season, including 16 points, six rebounds, seven steals and five assists from&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6443">Katie Wagner</a>. The second-year freshman matched her career high in assists while setting a new personal-best for steals. Hobbs scored 14 points thanks to four 3-pointers while dishing out seven assists and poking away three steals. Hollenbeck also scored 14 points, with Randall and Golladay adding 10 points each. The Tigers hit a season-high 11 3-pointers while also posting a new season best by hitting 50 percent from behind the arc (11-of-22). FHSU also hit 50 percent from the floor overall (31-of-62), hitting at least half of its shots for the fourth time this season. Brooke Littrell paced the Jennies with 25 points after hitting 10-of-13 from the floor, with Nija Collier adding 17 points. The rest of the UCM team combined to score 17 points on 29.4 percent shooting. The Jennies hit 51.2 percent from the floor overall (21-of-41). Fort Hays State poked away 15 steals in the win, the most against a DII opponent this season. The Tigers outrebounded UCM by six, 29-23. The Tigers continued their dominance over UCM inside Gross Memorial Coliseum, winning their eighth-straight home game against the Jennies and moving to 10-2 all-time. Fort Hays State will return to the floor Saturday (Jan. 8) when the Tigers host Lincoln in a women's-only contest beginning at 2 p.m. The men's game has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Blue Tiger program and will be made up on a date to be determined.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm, which follows the women's contest at 5:30 pm. The Tigers are coming off their first road loss of the season on Monday night as they fell 58-51 at Rogers State. The 51 points was a season low for the Tigers, while they also shot a season-low 31.9 percent from the field in that game. On the bright side, the Tigers defended well once again and held the opposition inside of 60 points for the 10th&nbsp;time in 12 games this season. FHSU continues to lead NCAA Division II in scoring defense, allowing just 55.9 points per game, one of only three teams in Division II holding their opposition to less than 60 points per game on average. Central Missouri is coming off a pair of losses at home this past week to Washburn and Emporia State. Washburn won by two points on a stick-back bucket with two seconds remaining and then saw Emporia State hit 19 3-point field goals the following game in a blowout loss. Fort Hays State and Central Missouri split last year's regular season series. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm, which follows the women's contest at 5:30 pm. The Tigers are coming off their first road loss of the season on Monday night as they fell 58-51 at Rogers State. The 51 points was a season low for the Tigers, while they also shot a season-low 31.9 percent from the field in that game. On the bright side, the Tigers defended well once again and held the opposition inside of 60 points for the 10th&nbsp;time in 12 games this season. FHSU continues to lead NCAA Division II in scoring defense, allowing just 55.9 points per game, one of only three teams in Division II holding their opposition to less than 60 points per game on average. Central Missouri is coming off a pair of losses at home this past week to Washburn and Emporia State. Washburn won by two points on a stick-back bucket with two seconds remaining and then saw Emporia State hit 19 3-point field goals the following game in a blowout loss. Fort Hays State and Central Missouri split last year's regular season series. Jaren Kanak is heading to Oklahoma. After initially committing to Clemson, the Hays High senior tweeted Monday evening that he's going to be a Sooner.

Several days before the early signing period in December, Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables left the Tiger program to become the head coach at OU. Kanak later decommitted to Clemson.

Kanak can't officially sign with Oklahoma until February, when the new signing period begins.

It certainly did. No. 6 Kansas shot 70.8% from the field in the second half, helping the Jayhawks overcome a scoreless streak of more than 9 1/2 minutes and beat Oklahoma State 74-63 on Tuesday night in the delayed Big 12 Conference opener for both teams.

David McCormack had 17 points and a career-high 15 rebounds and Ochai Agbaji scored 16 points for Kansas (12-1), which made seven straight shots during a 20-8 run early in the second half that put the Jayhawks — who were tied 29-29 at halftime — back ahead by double digits.

Oklahoma State (7-5) came no closer than six points the rest of the way. When the Cowboys closed within 63-57 on a basket by Isaac Likekele with 6:14 left, Christian Braun began a 9-0 run for Kansas with a pair of baskets. Braun finished with 15 points.

“To win a game on the road and miss 19 straight shots, that’s not going to happen very often,” Self said. “Our shot selection wasn’t great the first half. … The second half, I thought we did a better job. We didn’t get to the free-throw line, but we did a better job of at least driving some in the second half.”

Kansas won its eighth straight game and its 31st consecutive conference opener, a run that began in the 1991-92 season, when the Jayhawks played in the Big 8 Conference. 🏀 No. 6 Kansas survives cold stretch, beats Oklahoma State

HOUSTON (AP) — Deuce Vaughn and the Kansas State Wildcats finished a streaky season on a positive note Tuesday night with a dominant 42-20 win over short-handed LSU in the Texas Bowl.

Vaughn, a sophomore running back and first-team All-American as an all-purpose player, rushed for 146 yards on 21 carries. He scored four touchdowns — three rushing and one receiving.

“The aggressiveness of our play calling opened up the running game,” Vaughn said. “Everybody was making plays, and our O-line stayed committed to the fight against a really good defense.”

Kansas State (8-5) also got a strong performance from quarterback Skylar Thompson, who returned to make his final collegiate start after missing the regular-season finale with an ankle injury.

“For him to be on point like he was and throwing strikes, he was phenomenal,” Kansas State coach Chris Klieman said. “To see him go out like that was huge. He wanted to play well in this moment and he did.”

Thompson completed 21 of 28 passes for 259 yards and three touchdowns and was chosen Texas Bowl MVP. Malik Knowles had two touchdown catches and 42 yards receiving.

“It flew by, but it was a special way to end it, for sure,” Thompson said. “Holy smokes, I couldn’t have drawn up a better way to finish it than tonight.”

While LSU (6-7) had a tough time slowing Vaughn and Thompson, the Tigers had another uphill battle on offense.

With starting quarterback Max Johnson having transferred to Texas A&amp;M, backup Myles Brennan recovering from surgery and a third-string freshman that would have had to burn his redshirt to play, LSU entered the game with a big question mark under center.

The Tigers turned to senior receiver Jontre Kirklin, who hadn’t played quarterback since high school in 2016. Kirklin had only played in 25 games over five seasons, including his first two years as a cornerback.

The Tigers didn’t get a first down until late in the second quarter. By that time, Kansas State already had 12 first downs and a 21-0 lead. LSU later scored on that drive, though, a 23-yard touchdown catch by Jaray Jenkins.

Kirklin was 7-of-11 passing for 138 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while also rushing for 61 yards on 11 carries. He delivered an 81-yard touchdown pass to Chris Hilton Jr. as time expired.

The Tigers were led by interim coach Brad Davis, the offensive line coach who was filling in during the transition from Ed Orgeron to former Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly. LSU announced in December that Davis would be returning on Kelly’s staff as the offensive line coach.

Davis said LSU had just 38 scholarship players available for the game, but backing out was never an option.

“We don’t stand back from a challenge,” Davis said. “There was never a thought in our mind about not playing this game. We fully expected to win.”

Kansas State appeared to have a slight edge in the makeup of the crowd, despite Baton Rouge, Louisiana, being nearly 500 miles closer to Houston than Manhattan, Kansas.

Kansas State enjoyed its most lopsided win over an SEC opponent in school history, improving to 5-17 against the conference.

Kansas State looked strong on both sides of the ball, with big performances from graduating seniors and players returning next season, en route to the Wildcats’ first bowl win since the Cactus Bowl in 2017.

LSU had hoped to carry on the positive momentum from an upset win over Texas A&amp;M in the regular-season finale, but transfers and injuries got the best of the Tigers. They’ll look to quickly reload next season under the new regime.

Kelly joined the television broadcast and was asked about his time in the limelight with viral videos poking fun of his dancing with recruit Walker Howard or his newfound faux Southern accent.

“Listen, whether it was dancing or whether I couldn’t get my accent down with ‘family,’ listen, I’m from Boston — we don’t have strong accents,” Kelly said.

“He is the epitome of a selfless kid. He probably didn’t have the career he expected to coming out of high school, but he never complained or wavered or thought of transferring or quit. In fact, he was the opposite.” — Davis on Kirklin.

Hays High opened the 2022 portion of their season with a trip to Pratt on the first day of school.

Hays opened the game on a 13-0 run through the first seven and a half minutes of the game. The Greenbacks' first points came with twenty-three second left in the first quarter. The Indians then went cold from the field missing their first twelve shots of the second quarter and went scoreless for 7:20.

Pratt used the time to take the lead on a 14-0 run. Hays took the lead back on a pair of free throws at 15-14, Pratt hit a three for a 17-15 advantage before Hays hit a layup with five seconds left in the half for a 17-17 tie heading into the locker room.

The two teams were tied a total of five times and exchanged the lead eight times by the end of the game. Hays took a nine point lead early in the fourth quarter with a pair of free throws to cap an 11-1 run after trailing 24-23. Pratt bounced right back with a 12-2 sprint of their own to capture the lead at 37-36 with 3:54 left in the game.&nbsp;

Claire Humphrey gave the Indians the lead with three of four free throws and then broke a 39 all tie with two more tosses with 2:04 left. The Indians never trailed again. Pratt hit their seventh and final three pointer with :40 left to draw within two at 44-42. The Indians made three of their final six free throws to keep the Greenback at arms length for a 47-44 victory.

Molly Martin scored a team high and career high 14. Seven different players scored for Hays. Gabby Gatlin scored a game high 19 and teammate Lexi Walker hit six three pointers for 18 points for Pratt.

Hays improves to 3-3 on the year. Pratt falls to 4-3.

Hays and Pratt never gained much separation from each other through the first two quarters. Both teams led by three in the first quarter and were tied at 12 after the first eight minutes. Hays built their first two possession advantage at 22-17 midway through the second quarter before Pratt trimmed it back to 24-22 by halftime.

Pratt tied the game at 24 and 26 points out of the halftime locker but never gained the advantage. Hays gained their first significant gap in the game on a 10-1 run late in the third quarter, leading 41-32. Pratt had one last chance to pull off a fourth quarter comeback with four minutes left. Hays was called for a technical foul, but Pratt scored just one of the two free throws and turned the ball over on their ensuing possession while Hays led 49-42.

The Indians made all of their six free throw attempts over the final minute to secure a 56-45 victory.

Jace Linenberger led three in double figures at 20 points. Noah Weimer scored a career high 13 and Carson Kieffer added 12. The Indians made 20 of 25 free throws. Pratt was led by Karter Hoeme with 18.

Hays improves to 5-1 and will host Liberal on Friday.

Hays sweeps Pratt on the road

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Marcus Carr scored 19 points, Timmy Allen had 17 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, and No. 14 Texas rallied in the second half to beat Kansas State 70-57 on Tuesday night.

Courtney Ramey added 14 points and Dylan Disu had 10 for Texas (12-2, 2-0), which has won six in a row.

“I think when we get it inside, it creates some momentum for us,” Allen said. “And then when we get inside, they have to react to that and we it inside-out for some 3s.”

Kansas State led 35-29 at halftime, but the Longhorns opened the second half with an 18-2 run that Ramey concluded with two 3-pointers, making it 47-37 with 12:26 remaining.

Nijel Pack scored 21 points, 15 in the first half, and Selton Miguel finished with 13 points for the Wildcats (8-5, 0-2), who were missing seven players and coach Bruce Weber because of COVID-19 protocols.

“We did a great job early in the first half with our energy,” said assistant coach Shane Southwell, who led the team in Weber's absence. “We set the tone early, but then the second half we didn’t have that physicality.”

Texas was without its third-leading scorer, Andrew Jones.

“When I’m old and floating down the Frio River in Concan, (Texas), I’m not going to remember the asterisk at all,” Texas coach Chris Beard said. “But I’ll remember coming down here with these guys.”

The Longhorns entered leading the nation in scoring defense, allowing 51 points per game, and they gave up just 22 points in the second half en route to their fifth straight win over the Wildcats.

Pack's 3-pointer at the first-half buzzer concluded an 8-0 run for Kansas State. But the Wildcats didn't score for the first five minutes of the second half as they gave up the lead. After Texas' big run, Kansas State didn't get closer than six points.

“It was the details,” Pack said. “The first half we had the energy, and in the second half we made some mental mistakes. It could’ve been fatigue but we’ve got to be better.”

Texas: The Longhorns' roster is full of transfers who are still getting comfortable with one another. That was evident during their sluggish start.

Kansas State: Having only seven scholarship players available eventually took its toll on the Wildcats.

🏀Only One FHSU Men’s Home Game This Week; Game vs. Lincoln Saturday Postponed

&nbsp; Fort Hays State Men's Basketball moved back into the D2SIDA Top 25 on Tuesday (Jan. 4), holding the No. 22 ranking this week. FHSU continues to receive votes for the fourth straight edition of the NABC Top 25 Poll, receiving the fifth-most votes of teams outside of the Top 25. The Tigers entered the D2SIDA Top 25 Poll for the first time this season at No. 23 back on December 14 and then fell back out of the poll on December 21 after their first loss of the season. The Tigers are back in the Top 25 week, even though they took their second loss of the season on Monday night at Rogers State. The results from games on Monday were not figured into this week's poll. This is the highest the Tigers have been ranked in the D2SIDA Top 25 Poll, which began back in 2014-15, even though they have been ranked as high as No. 1 several times in the NABC poll during the program's NCAA Division II history. 🏀FHSU Men’s Basketball Moves Back into D2SIDA Top 25, Receive Votes Again in NABC Poll

The Fort Hays State women's basketball team moved up in both national polls released Tuesday (Jan. 4),&nbsp;climbing to third in the latest WBCA DII Coaches Poll and moving up to 11th in the D2SIDA Media Poll. The Tigers picked up an additional 27 points in the coaches poll to move into a tie for third with Lander at 495 points. Nebraska-Kearney moved up one spot to ninth, while Missouri Western entered the rankings in 24th this week. Fort Hays State added two points to its total in the media poll, moving past one school to jump to 11th. UNK is the only other conference school in the media poll, up one spot to fourth this week. Fort Hays State is one of two teams that has been in the top five of the coaches poll all season (Drury). The Tigers were fourth in the preseason poll before moving up to the top spot for three weeks. FHSU was fifth in the last two releases before climbing two spots this week. This is the first time the Tigers have been third in the coaches poll since the final regular season poll of the 2018-19 season (3/1/19). Fort Hays State is 15-3 all-time when playing as the third-ranked team in the country and&nbsp;122-32&nbsp;all-time when ranked in the WBCA DII Coaches Poll. Drury and Texas A&amp;M-Commerce are in first and second, respectively, in both national polls. Fort Hays State will return to Gross Memorial Coliseum to host three games in a seven-day span beginning Thursday when the Tigers host Central Missouri beginning at 5:30 p.m.

 </figure>The Fort Hays State women's basketball team moved up in both national polls released Tuesday (Jan. 4),&nbsp;climbing to third in the latest WBCA DII Coaches Poll and moving up to 11th in the D2SIDA Media Poll. The Tigers picked up an additional 27 points in the coaches poll to move into a tie for third with Lander at 495 points. Nebraska-Kearney moved up one spot to ninth, while Missouri Western entered the rankings in 24th this week. Fort Hays State added two points to its total in the media poll, moving past one school to jump to 11th. UNK is the only other conference school in the media poll, up one spot to fourth this week. Fort Hays State is one of two teams that has been in the top five of the coaches poll all season (Drury). The Tigers were fourth in the preseason poll before moving up to the top spot for three weeks. FHSU was fifth in the last two releases before climbing two spots this week. This is the first time the Tigers have been third in the coaches poll since the final regular season poll of the 2018-19 season (3/1/19). Fort Hays State is 15-3 all-time when playing as the third-ranked team in the country and&nbsp;122-32&nbsp;all-time when ranked in the WBCA DII Coaches Poll. Drury and Texas A&amp;M-Commerce are in first and second, respectively, in both national polls. 🏀 FHSU women up in national polls

Fort Hays State tight end <a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6130">Hunter Budke</a>
 added another postseason honor to his collection for the 2021 season 
when he was named to the D2Football.com Elite 100 team. The team was 
rebranded this year as the Elite 100, though in the past it was known as
 the D2Football.com All-America Team. 
Budke was a first-team selection at tight end, which gives him four 
national first-team honors this season after receiving All-America First
 Team honors from the AFCA, D2CCA, and the Associated Press. The 
D2Football.com Elite 100 was selected by the staff of D2Football.com 
with input from coaches, scouts, media, and sports information directors
 from around the country. 
Budke finished the 2021 season with 47 receptions for 620 yards and 
eight touchdowns. He twice had over 100 receiving yards in a game. He 
produced four or more receptions in seven of 11 contests and led the 
Tigers in receiving touchdowns for the season. Budke ranked eighth in 
the MIAA in receptions per game, all among a top 10 list that only 
included wide receivers aside from him. He was fourth in the MIAA in 
receiving touchdowns.

FHSU's Budke earns spot on D2Football.com Elite 100

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Fort Hays State put together another strong defensive effort on the road at Rogers State on Monday (Jan. 3), but struggled offensively and fell by a score of 58-51. The Tigers held another opponent under 60 points, the 10th&nbsp;time in 12 games this season, but a poor offensive effort from the field ultimately led to the setback. FHSU is now 10-2 overall and 5-2 in the MIAA, while RSU moved to 9-5 overall and 3-5 in the MIAA. The Tigers turned the ball over 11 times and shot just 21.7 percent in the first half to find themselves down 27-20 at halftime. Rogers State matched Fort Hays State's usual defensive intensity and caused the Tigers to struggle in their half court sets. The Tigers improved in the second half, shooting 41.7 percent to bring their overall game percentage to 31.9 percent, but it was still their lowest of the season. With as tough of a night as they had from the field, the Tigers made up for it by going a perfect 14-of-14 at the free-throw line.

Turnovers were a big factor in the end as Fort Hays State finished with a season-worst 17 to only eight by the Hillcats. It was too much in a possession-critical low-scoring game. Fort Hays State, NCAA Division II leader in scoring defense, held Rogers State to 58 points, just two points more than what they have allowed on average for the season, but it was the first time this season FHSU took a loss when holding its opponent under 60. The Tigers made a few little bursts at the HIllcats in the second half, but they could never get over the hump. FHSU cut the lead to two by opening the second half on a 7-2 run, but Devin Pullum snapped the momentum by hitting a 3-point field goal. Pullum went on to finish with a game-high 16 points and five assists for the Hillcats. Rogers State held at least a five-point advantage the remainder of the second half after Pullum's made three at the 16:55 mark.

🏀 No. 5 FHSU women cruise past Rogers State

HOUSTON — Quarterback Skylar Thompson will return from an ankle injury to start for Kansas State in the Texas Bowl on Tuesday night. 

LSU interim coach Brad Davis won't say who will start at QB for the Tigers. Myles Brennan is injured and Max Johnson transferred to Texas A&amp;M. 

Freshman Garrett Nussmeier was listed first on a depth chart released this week but it's unclear if he'll play because one more game would burn his redshirt year.

Tipoff is set for 6 pm inside the Claremore Expo Center, which follows the women's contest at 4 pm. The Tigers enter at 10-1 overall, 5-1 in the MIAA, while the Hillcats are 8-5 overall, 2-5 in the MIAA. The Tiger defense continues to present problems for the opposition, now back on top of NCAA Division II in scoring defense. FHSU allows only 55.7 points per game and had held nine of 11 opponents inside 60 this season. FHSU is the only team in the MIAA holding opponents to a shooting percentage lower than 40 percent this season, currently at 37.9 percent. Rogers State has won two straight games coming into this contest. The Hillcats defeated Cameron University by 12 points on December 29 and then Nebraska-Kearney by 14 points on New Year's Day, both at home. The Hillcats are 5-1 on their home floor this season, the lone loss being to Missouri Southern by a score of 67-53. Devin Pullum leads the RSU scoring effort at 16.5 points per game, while Joey Saracco adds 10.3 per contest. RSU has six players averaging at least 6.8 points per game. 🏀📻 LISTEN - No. 5 Tiger women resume season Monday at Rogers State

KANSAS- The Kansas Shrine Bowl Board of Directors would like
to announce the East and West teams for the 2022 Kansas Shrine Bowl. These
players have been invited to participate in the 49th Annual Kansas Shrine Bowl
to be played at Carnie Smith Stadium at Pittsburg State University in
Pittsburg, Kansas, Saturday, July 23rd at 7 p.m.

The 2022 Head Coaches, as selected by votes from the 2021
coaching staff, trainers, managers, and camp directors, are Basehor-Linwood’s
Rod Stallbaumer for the East and Wichita Collegiate’s Troy Black for the West.

Players are selected each year by a combination of media
votes and selections from the Kansas Shrine Bowl Coaching Staff. Players must
be nominated by their high school coach or athletic director. The players
selected to the 2022 Kansas Shrine Bowl join the just over 3,000 players who
have participated in the annual event since 1974. 

&nbsp;“This is an
incredibly impressive group of young men,” said B.J. Harris, Executive Director
of the Kansas Shrine Bowl. “These players and coaches now have a wonderful
opportunity ahead of them, one that is sure to have a lasting impact on their
life.” 

"We are very excited about the West squad, said West
Head Coach Troy Black. “The coaches feel we have a very athletic, tough, and
physical football team.&nbsp; We feel it is a
great group of young men who are great players, but also great men and they are
a group that truly understands the purpose of this game and what they are
really playing for."

“We are extremely excited about this group,” said Rod
Stallbaumer, East Head Coach. “It’s always tough to narrow the roster down to
40, but we feel we have an exceptional group of young men who will be great
ambassadors of their schools, communities and programs. We feel we have a
well-rounded group of playmakers on offense and some aggressive and athletic
guys on defense, who should be fun to coach.” 

The Assistant coaches for the East team are Clint Rider (6A
– Blue Valley Northwest), Jason Feeback (5A – Spring Hill), Rick Pollard (4A –
Piper), Neal Philpot (3A – Girard), Derick Hammes (2A – Rossville) and Jeff
Schneider (1A – Jefferson County North). 

Assistant coaches for the West team are Ene Akpan (6A –
