HAYS - Hays High has lost three games this season. Each of them have been by a single run after falling to undefeated Clay Center 5-4 and 3-2 on Friday.

Game 1: Clay Center 5, Hays 4 Hays held a 3-0 lead after scoring three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Corbin Werth and Johnny Cano were each hit by a pitch and in between Cooper Sanders drew a walk. Tiger Johnson drove in the game's first run on a sacrifice fly. Lex Lummus bunted home Sanders for a 2-0 advantage. Jack Weimer capped the scoring with a bunt single.

The Indians allowed runs in just one inning. Unfortunately for the home team it was five runs in the top of the fourth.&nbsp;

The Tigers scored two runs with one out following an error by the Indians. The next two batters were hit by a pitch to load the bases.

With two outs Clay Center tied the game at three runs on a wild pitch. Later in the same at-bat the Tigers scored two more runs on a single for a 5-3 lead.

Hays loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the fourth but could not take advantage.&nbsp;

Hays made it a one run difference in the bottom of the seventh when Cano stole back-to-back bases with two outs and advanced home on an errant throw by the Tiger's catcher.&nbsp;

Hays though never threatened to tie the game falling 5-4. Brenden Stults suffered the loss. He went four innings allowing five runs but only one was earned. Stults struck out give, walked one and gave up four hits.

Game 2: Clay Center 3, Hays 2 Six errors by Hays was too much to overcome in a 3-2 loss to Clay Center to complete the sweep by the Tigers.

Hays drew three straight walks to open the bottom of the second inning. The Indians though only scored one run when Ian McGuire drove in Jack Weimer.

Clay Center scored two runs in the top of the third for a 2-1 lead. The Indians had three errors in the inning.

Carter Graham tied the game when he drove in Weimer in the bottom of the fourth.

Neither team scored until the eighth. The Indians opened the inning with an error and was later called for catcher's interference to load the bases. With two outs and the bases loaded a walk by the Indians drove in the decisive run.

Tanner Boxberger and Ian McGuire each pitched four innings. The loss goes to McGuire.&nbsp;

Hays falls to 9-3 on the season. They travel to Dodge City on Tuesday where they will try to win the Western Athletic Conference crown.&nbsp;

Clay Center remains perfect on the season at 12-0. The Tigers have thrown seven shutouts on the season and had allowed just eight runs all season heading into the double header in Hays.

TOPEKA, Kan. - The Fort Hays State baseball team was unable to hang on to a six-run lead Friday evening, with the Tigers falling to Washburn in the weekend series opener, 10-9 at Falley Field. The Tigers (21-18, 9-16 MIAA) led 6-0 after two innings of play before the Ichabods (21-16, 15-10 MIAA) scored 10 runs over the next six frames to seal the win.

The Tigers raced out to a quick start, scoring a pair of runs before the first out was recorded in the game. Cesar Saavedra&nbsp;led off with a double to left before a pitch hit Isaiah Ural&nbsp;and Elliott Herrmann&nbsp;singled to load the bases. Brady Kreutzer&nbsp;&nbsp;came through with a two-RBI double to left center, putting the Tigers on top. The double extended Kretuzer's hit-streak to a career-high and team best 11 games. Jose Cintron&nbsp;doubled the lead with another two-RBI base hit two batters later, giving FHSU a 4-0 lead.

Tiger starter Ty Riley&nbsp;worked around a walk in the bottom of the inning before the Tiger bats added two more runs in the top of the second. Saavedra opened the rally with a base hit before Herrmann crushed a two-out home run to left field, the first baseman's team-leading 12th long ball of the season.

Riley again faced one over the minimum in the bottom of the second before the Ichabods used back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the third to close within 6-2. The righty posted another scoreless inning in the fourth, stranding two men on base, before Washburn took the lead with five runs in the fifth inning, three of which were unearned following a pair of Tiger errors.

After getting men on base in each inning after the second but failing to score, the Tigers were able to tie the score in the top of the seventh when Saavedra led off with another double. He moved up 90 feet on a ground ball before scampering home on an RBI groundout from Herrmann.

Tanner Vaughn came on to get out of the jam in the bottom of the fifth and locked things down for the next two innings, striking out the side in the sixth before stranding a pair in the home half of the seventh inning.

Fort Hays State regained the lead in the top of the eighth when Zane Knox&nbsp;scored from second base on a passed ball. Trey DeGarmp&nbsp;then scored on an RBI single from Luis Ayala, giving the visitors a 9-7 advantage.

The Ichabods opened the bottom of the eighth with back-to-back base hits, prompting the Tigers to bring in Spencer Maley. Washburn then tied the game on a two-RBI triple before scoring the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly.

Ural gave the Tigers a chance in the top of the ninth, leading off with a double into the left-field corner. The center fielder moved up 90 feet on a fly ball before Knox worked a two-out walk, putting runners on the corners. Washburn managed to secure the win with a routine fly ball to right, finishing off the come-from-behind victory.

Saavedra and Herrmann both had three of FHSU's 11 hits, with Herrmann driving in a team-high three runs. Saavedra, Herrmann and Ural all scored twice in the loss. Riley struck out five batters in 4 2/3 innings of work, allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits and six walks. Tanner Vaughn&nbsp;picked up four strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings of relief, surrendering two runs on three hits and one walk. Spencer Maley&nbsp;(1-3) took the loss after allowing one run on one hit and striking out one batter in one inning of work.

The Tigers and Ichabods will resume the series Saturday at 2 p.m. before wrapping things up on Sunday at 1 p.m.&nbsp;&nbsp;

⚾ Late rally lifts Ichabods past Tigers in series opener

DODGE CITY - Hays High went 1-1 in the first day of the Dodge City Lewis Automotive Group Softball Classic on Friday.

Game 1:&nbsp;Hays 5, Wichita Northwest 2 Hays High scored four runs after falling behind 1-0 on their way to a 5-2 win over Wichita Northwest.

Jaylee Summers tied the game after crossing the plate on a ground out in the bottom of the second to tie the game. The Indians took the lead when courtesy runner Shea Augustine scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fourth. Augustine ran for Lakyn Zimmerman who doubled to open the inning.

Hays added to their lead in the bottom of the fifth on a Dani Willeford sacrifice fly that scored Lauren Klein. In the next at bat Riley Dreher drove in Dezarae Schmidt for a 4-1 advantage.&nbsp;

The Grizzlies put a single tally on the board in the top of the sixth. Hays answered in the bottom of the inning when Haley Rees took advantage of a Northwest error for the final run at 5-2.

Aubree Thomas pitched for the first time this season. She went all seven innings allowing two runs on seven hits. She struck out nine and walked none.

Game 2: Derby 14, Hays 2 Hays High lost to 6A power Derby 14-2 in the second game of the day.

The two teams were tied at one run a piece after the first inning. Riley Dreher drove in Dani Willeford with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first to tie the game at one.

Derby took control in the third and fourth innings. The Panthers scored three in the third and seven in the fourth for an 11-1 lead. Hays had four of their six errors during the same span.&nbsp;

The Indians only other run scored in the bottom of the fourth when Riley Dreher crossed the plate after a Derby error.

The Panthers scored their final three runs in the top of the seventh for the 14-2 victory.

Riley Dreher took the loss in the circle throwing all seven innings. Only two of the fourteen runs allowed were earned.

The Indians are now 5-3 on the season. Derby is 11-1. They stay in Dodge City for day two of the classic.

The Indians will play Eisenhower at 10:00 a.m. and Maize South at 2:00 p.m.

🎽 Hays girls 2nd, boys 4th in Manhattan

HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State and Lincoln each posted shutouts to split a doubleheader at Fleharty Family Field on Friday. FHSU won game one 4-0 before Lincoln took the second contest 1-0 in a pair of pitcher's duels. FHSU is now 18-20 overall, 4-12 in the MIAA, while Lincoln went to 12-26 overall, 4-16 in the MIAA.

Game 1: Fort Hays State 4, Lincoln 0 Both teams had just three hits through the first four and a half innings of play until Fort Hays State broke the first-game scoreless tie with three runs and three hits in the bottom of the fifth. FHSU would add on one more run in the sixth, though only two of their runs in the game were earned.

A fielding error allowed another Tiger run in the inning as FHSU took a 3-0 lead to the sixth. A throwing error on a stolen base by&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/softball/roster/sarah-tiffany/7751">Sarah Tiffany</a>&nbsp;in the sixth led to a sacrifice fly RBI by&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/softball/roster/madison-pierce/7746">Madison Pierce</a>&nbsp;to make it 4-0.

That was plenty for&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/softball/roster/savanah-egger/7741">Savanah Egger</a>, who threw her third complete-game shutout of the season. Egger moved to 10-9 overall on the season, allowing just four hits with five walks. She struck out five.

Paige Rademann (4-11) took the loss for Lincoln, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk with one strikeout. She handed the ball to Mallorey Rogers in the sixth, who tossed an inning with one unearned run allowed.

Game 2: Lincoln 1, Fort Hays State 0 The Tigers had a tough time finding key hits when they needed them in the second contest of the day. They had runners in scoring position in the third, fourth, and sixth innings, but could not come up with a hit in the clutch as Abby Pulliam (2-4) of Lincoln threw a complete-game shutout to earn Lincoln it's first-ever win in Hays.

The Tigers loaded the bases with one out in the fourth and a fielder's choice on the infield and a groundout ended that threat. They got a runner to third with one out in the sixth and had a groundout and pop up that ended that scoring chance.

Pulliam finished with six hits allowed and two walks, while striking out three Tigers. Lincoln broke the scoreless tie between teams in the top of the sixth when a single, walk, and passed ball put runners into scoring position with no outs. A weak grounder on the infield to the right side pushed the go-ahead run across, but&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/softball/roster/morgan-schmidt/7748">Morgan Schmidt</a>&nbsp;avoided any further damage with a strikeout and groundout.

Schmidt took a tough-luck loss, allowing just three hits and a walk, while striking out seven. Her only run allowed was unearned.

The Tigers play host to Central Missouri on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m. at Fleharty Family Field.

They had runners in scoring position in the third, fourth, and sixth innings, but could not come up with a hit in the clutch as Abby Pulliam (2-4) of Lincoln threw a complete-game shutout to earn Lincoln it's first-ever win in Hays.The Tigers loaded the bases with one out in the fourth and a fielder's choice on the infield and a groundout ended that threat. They got a runner to third with one out in the sixth and had a groundout and pop up that ended that scoring chance.Pulliam finished with six hits allowed and two walks, while striking out three Tigers. Lincoln broke the scoreless tie between teams in the top of the sixth when a single, walk, and passed ball put runners into scoring position with no outs. A weak grounder on the infield to the right side pushed the go-ahead run across, but&nbsp;<a href="https://fhsuathletics.com/sports/softball/roster/morgan-schmidt/7748">Morgan Schmidt</a>&nbsp;avoided any further damage with a strikeout and groundout.Schmidt took a tough-luck loss, allowing just three hits and a walk, while striking out seven. A pair of qualifying marks were the highlights of the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and day one of the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Grant Bradley&nbsp;had a tremendous effort in the men's 3,000m steeplechase, securing ninth place with a time of 8:53.61. This time beat his personal best of 9:07.11 ran back in 2021 and improved on the best time ran in the program's NCAA Division II era. It was only about five seconds shy of John Mason's school record of 8:48.24 ran back in 1969. Bradley's time is the sixth-best in NCAA Division II so far this season.

Taylor Savolt's&nbsp;performance has her in second place of Group D in the women's heptathlon with a total score of 3,007 after the first day. Maggie Remsberg&nbsp;holds the sixth spot in Group D after the first day. 🏃‍♂️ FHSU's Bradley and Williams provisional marks highlight Thursday

GOODLAND – The TMP-Marian
baseball team ran their winning streak to eight games with a sweep in Goodland.
The Monarchs pulled away late and win the opener 11-4 then take game two 11-1
in five innings. TMP is now 10-2 on the season and are not scheduled to play
again until April 19 when they host Abilene.

Game 1: TMP-Marian
11, Goodland 6
The Monarchs broke open a one-run game by scoring three in the fifth, a run in
the sixth then four in the seventh.

Braxton Basgall opened
the game with a double and scored on a Carson Liles groundout. Kendall Walker
scored on a passed ball to push the Monarchs up 2-1 in the second. Walker
scored on a Connor Breit groundout with two outs in the top of the fourth to
give the Monarchs the lead for good.

Leading 3-2, Basgall and
Caden Dinkel both walked to open the fifth. Liles then singled to right driving
in a run. After back-to-back strikeouts, Adler Brown singled which scored two
and pushed the lead to 6-2.

The Monarchs added
another run in the sixth on an error. Joseph Mindrup drove in a run in the seventh
on a groundout, Dinkel singled to left which scored two, another run scored on
an error.

TMP was held to five
hits but took advantage of six Cowboy errors to score seven unearned runs.

Logan Baalmann allowed three
runs (one earned) on four hits with four strikeouts and six walks over 5 1/3
innings and picked up the win. Isaac Purington allowed one unearned run on three
hits over the final 1 1/3 innings.

Game 2:
TMP-Marian 11, Goodland 1 (5 innings)
TMP took charge early with a six run first inning, all coming with two outs. Kendall
Walker drove in the first run with a single, the second scored on an error on
the same play. Adler Brown singled which scored Walker, Ty Schmeidler followed
with a doubled which plated the fourth run of the inning. Joseph Mindrup closed
out the scoring with a two-run triple.

Carson Liles had three
of the Monarchs 15 hits, Walker, Brown, Ty Schmeidler and Mindrup all had two
hits. Schmeidler had two doubles, Mindrup had a double and triple, Logan
Baalmann also doubled.

Liles allowed one run on two hits with two strikeouts and two walks and
picked up the win. Schmeidler pitched two hitless innings of relief with four
strikeouts and no walks.

⚾ TMP-Marian sweeps Cowboys to push win streak to eight

After playing eight straight games on the road, to open the
season, the TMP-Marian Monarchs (7-3) softball team hosted the Goodland Cowgirls
(5-7) in their home opener on Thursday afternoon and it was pitching that led
the way in both games.

GAME 1: Goodland 2, TMP 0 The Goodland Cowgirls took the first game of doubleheader Thursday
scoring two runs in the second inning and that was more than enough for the Cowgirls
to take game one 2-0.

TMP starter Brynn Rebel struck out the side in the first
inning but ran into trouble in the second.

Goodland got a pair of runners on with one out for Paige
Nachtigall who drove in both runs with an RBI single.

With the 2-0 lead Goodland starter Allison Cure settled in, she
allowed just seven hits with a pair of walks and five strikeouts in the
complete game shutout.

The Monarchs lone threat came in the bottom of the fifth
when they loaded the bases with one out but failed to score.

Hannah Rose collected three hits in the loss for TMP.

GAME 2: TMP 17, Goodland 0 (4 innings) In the second game of the day the TMP offense family got to
Cure, using a 10-run inning in a 17-0 run-rule victory.

TMP jumped on Cure in the bottom of the first inning scoring
four times for a 4-0 lead.

The Monarchs loaded the bases with one out for Bridget Feldt
drove in a pair of runs with an RBI single. Bria Windholz and Addison Watson added
RBI singles of their own putting TMP up 4-0.

TMP broke the game open for good with a 10-run third inning.

Molly Helget got the scoring started in the inning with an
RBI single.

Then with two out Brooke Koenigsman walked in a run. Feldt
doubled in a pair of runs making it 10-0 TMP. 

Windholz made it 11-0 with an RBI double. Teagan Gottschalk
doubled in two more runs and then Helget singled in a second run in the inning
putting TMP up 14-0.

Leading 14-0 the first two hitters of the fourth inning
reach base for the Monarchs and the Brooke Koenigsman delivered on her first
homerun of the season to deep centerfield giving TMP the 17-0 run-rule victory.

Bria Windholz earned the win in the circle for TMP.

She allowed just three hits in four shutout innings with one
walk and two strikeouts. 

Feldt drove in a career-high five runs and was two-for-three
with two runs scored.

Koenigsman finished three-for-three with four RBI’s and
three runs scored.

Helget was three-for-three with two RBI’s and a run scored.

with a round of 82 and finished in 25th place. Braxton Banker shot an 87 and
placed 39th. Cooper Johnson fired an 94 and finished in 6 th place. Trey Oakley
finished 70th with a 96.

⛳ HHS boys 11th at Newton Invitational

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Bobby Witt Jr. had four hits, including two home runs, and five RBIs and the Kansas City Royals used a nine-run first inning to defeat the Houston Astros 13-3 Thursday to complete a three-game sweep and extend their winning streak to seven games.

Vinnie Pasquantino, who came into Wednesday's game hitting .108 with no RBIs, was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and now is hitting .222 with eight RBIs.

“To go from zero to eight in two days is pretty good,” Pasquantino said. “Hopefully we keep it up. If I could stay at this pace, we’d be in a really good spot.

"It feels good to be a part of the winning.”

The Royals completed a perfect seven-game homestand against the White Sox and Astros. It's just the third time in franchise history they've played at least seven games on a homestand without a loss. The other two: seven games in 1988 and eight games in 1985, the year they won their first World Series.

“It’s a great feeling,” Royals manager Matt Quatraro said. “I’m really happy for those guys. They’ve put in a ton of work. And to get off to that kind of start and sustain it for a full week is really challenging and really rewarding.”

Brady Singer (2-0) allowed one run and five hits in five innings.

Hunter Brown (0-2) got only two outs, but allowed nine runs and 11 hits.

“For the most part, I was generally over the middle of the dish,” Brown said. “I’m definitely not happy about it. I gotta look into it deeper. I've got to sit down with the staff and see what I can do.”

The Royals sent 15 men to the plate in the first inning, tying a club record with 11 hits in the inning (also set in 1986 and 2006). It was the second straight game they've batted around in an inning, sending 11 men to the plate in a seven-run inning Wednesday night.

“As a team we're just coming into the clubhouse each and every day having that feeling of, ‘We’re gonna win,’" Witt said.

The feeling was more demure in the other clubhouse.

“We’ve been tested early, and this team has been tested before,” Houston manager Joe Espada said. “This is going to make us better. It’s hard to swallow those losses, but (I have) faith in that group in there. We’ll figure it out. When things are just not going your way, that’s the stuff that happens.”

Maikel Garcia (two singles), Witt (a single and a homer) and Pasquantino (two singles) each had two hits and two RBIs in the first inning. Everyone in the starting lineup had at least one hit in the inning except Kyle Isbel.

The Astros had baserunners in nearly every inning, but got only a solo home run in the fourth from Yainer Diaz and a pair of runs in the sixth, snapping a 19 1/3-inning scoreless streak by the Royals bullpen.

Astros: RHP Justin Verlander is scheduled for another rehab start this weekend prior to his potential return to the rotation. He's been on the injured list with a right shoulder issue. ... Manager Joe Espada said LHP Framber Valdez averted the worst-case scenario with elbow soreness that put him on the IL on Monday. “The soreness is pretty much all gone,” Espada said. “Now it’s time to let him play catch in the next few days and get him built up.”

Astros: return to Houston for a six-game homestand against Texas and Atlanta. RHP J.P. Franco (0-1, 4.78 ERA) will take the mound Friday against RHP Dane Dunning (1-1, 4.15 ERA) for Texas.

Royals: go on a six-game road trip to New York and Chicago. RHP Michael Wacha (1-0, 2.25 ERA) will start Friday against the Mets' RHP Luis Severino (0-1, 3.60 ERA).

(AP) — Bobby Witt Jr. had four hits, including two home runs, and five RBIs and the Kansas City Royals used a nine-run first inning to defeat the Houston Astros 13-3 Thursday to complete a three-game sweep and extend their winning streak to seven games.Vinnie Pasquantino, who came into Wednesday's game hitting .108 with no RBIs, was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and now is hitting .222 with eight RBIs.“To go from zero to eight in two days is pretty good,” Pasquantino said. “Hopefully we keep it up. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Vinnie Pasquantino broke out of an early season slump with a home run and a career-high five RBIs to lead the Kansas City Royals to an 11-2 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday night for their sixth straight victory.

Pasquantino went 3 for 3 with a single, double, homer and a walk with two runs scored after entering the game 4 for 37 with four singles and no RBIs.

“I try not to consider it slumps or highs and lows,” he said. “I just try to consider it that you’re riding this roller coaster and you try to keep it as as much of a kiddie ride as you can. Obviously, the first week and a half wasn’t what I wanted statistically, but tonight felt good.

"The happiest person is probably going to be my wife because I probably won’t be tossing and turning all night. I imagine I’ll sleep a little bit better tonight. Some frustration set in for me. The beautiful thing is when you’re winning, it doesn’t matter.”

The Royals scored seven times in the third inning, jumpstarted by Pasquantino's two-run double. Kansas City, which had eight runs in the seventh against the Chicago White Sox on April 4, have multiple innings of seven or more runs in April for the first time since 2000.

Seth Lugo (2-0) allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings. It was the Royals’ ninth quality start in 12 games, the most in the majors.

“If we keep the right mindset, we could do it all season,” Lugo said of the success of the starting pitching. “There’s no reason not to. Just make sure after a good game (or) a bad game flush it and move on (and) keep working.”

The Royals' six-game winning streak is their longest since last September, when they also won six straight — including a three-game sweep of the Astros in Houston. The Royals will go for a 7-0 homestand in Thursday's finale.

The Royals are 7-1 in their last eight games against the Astros.

Royals manager Matt Quatraro said he had seen Pasquantino pressing this season, but he had confidence his slugging first baseman would come around.

“We really feel Vinnie is a really quality major league hitter,” he said. “He’s played in 10 games or whatever prior to tonight. That’s a really small sample. He’s done it at this level before. We know he’s going to continue to do it.”

Spencer Arrighetti (0-1) made his big league debut and worked around trouble in his first two innings before giving up seven runs in his third and final inning. The&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/astros-arrighetti-debut-fee6ba28349803b56215e689a45d7cb3">Astros' top pitching prospect</a>&nbsp;said his nerves and emotions were part of his struggle.

“When you want something that bad your whole life, you want it to be perfect," Arrighetti said. "You want it to go really smoothly and you want everything to feel good.

"But the reality is before the game I was a little bit of an anxious mess. I feel like I had to work harder to get my emotions down.”

The Royals batted around in the third. Pasquantino recorded his first extra-base hit and first two RBIs of the season with a two-run double. Salvador Perez single and MJ Melendez walked to load the bases before Nelson Velázquez stroked a two-run single to right.

Adam Frazier drove in Melendez with a single. Hunter Renfroe capped the scoring with a two-run double.

The Astros got a pair of runs in the fourth on a double by Yainer Diaz and a sacrifice fly by José Abreu.

But Pasquantino answered with his first homer of the season in the bottom of the fourth and drove in his fourth run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. The Royals added two runs in the eighth, including an RBI single by Pasquantino.

Astros: RHP Wander Suero was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land to make room for Arrighetti.

The Astros will send RHP Hunter Brown (0-1, 6.43 ERA) to the mound to face RHP Brady Singer (1-0, 0.68).

DALLAS (AP) — Dallas police said Wednesday that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice faces charges including aggravated assault after he and another speeding driver of a sports car caused a&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/rashee-rice-sports-car-crash-24b9e3281d0bca8c0c13a0cedda57b93">chain-reaction crash</a>&nbsp;on a Dallas highway.

Police said that arrest warrants have been issued for the 23-year-old for one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury. Rice's attorney, state Sen. Royce West, said last week that Rice had been&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/rashee-rice-sports-car-crash-dallas-lamborghini-d36bee33712ebb41c4b78f7c3b54b833">driving a Lamborghini sport utility vehicle</a>&nbsp;when the crash occurred.

Arrest warrants were also issued Theodore Knox, 21, who was driving the other speeding sports car, a Corvette, police said. Police said that arrest warrants have been issued for Knox for one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury.

Police said that the passengers in two speeding sports cars who left the scene will not be charged. Police said that Rice and Knox were not currently in custody. West had no immediate comment on Rice's behalf, and it was not clear whether Knox had an attorney.

The crash involved the Lamborghini, a Corvette and four other vehicles and left four people with minor injuries, police have said. Police said the drivers of the Corvette and Lamborghini left following the crash without determining whether anyone needed medical attention or providing their information.

Rice last week&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/stories/doub11e_r/">posted to his Instagram Story</a>&nbsp;that he was&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/chiefs-kansas-city-rashee-rice-car-crash-dallas-bbc86e5cccc79d7bbce5103070995994">taking “full responsibility”</a>&nbsp;for his part in the wreck.

Aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Collision involving bodily injury, a third-degree felony, is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and collision involving injury is punishable by up to five years in prison.

Police have said the drivers of the Corvette and Lamborghini were speeding in the far left lane when they lost control and the Lamborghini traveled onto the shoulder and hit the center median wall, causing the chain collision.

Rice was&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/rashee-rice-corvette-lamborghini-crash-dallas-2f3ac72c23b1d9ca4860f8cacc8b173e">leasing the Lamborghini</a>&nbsp;from The Classic Lifestyle, said Kyle Coker, an attorney for the Dallas-based exotic car rental company. And West has said the Corvette belonged to Rice.

Rice was born in Philadelphia but grew up in the Fort Worth, Texas, suburb of North Richland Hills. He played college football at nearby Southern Methodist University, where a breakout senior season in 2022 put the wide receiver on the radar of NFL teams.

The Chiefs selected him in the second round of last year's draft, and he quickly became one of the only dependable options in their passing game.

Chiefs' Rice facing charges after high-speed crash in Dallas

One day after a complete game victory on the mound against state ranked Great Bend, Nolan Dreher signed his letter of intent to play at Fort Hays State University.

As a younger player he "got to see the big kids" play at FHSU. Now Dreher is one of the big kids.

The senior right handed pitcher is 3-0 on the season with a 0.00 ERA. He has allowed two unearned runs through 18 1/3 innings. There have only been seven hits against Dreher while he has struck out 19 and walked only five. Opponents are hitting only .121 against him.

Hays High coach Dustin Dreher called him a bulldog on the mound. The pitcher's presence though is evident in the dugout during games that he doesn't play.

Dreher is 4-1 in his career over ten appearances with seven of those being starts. This season he has picked up wins over Liberal, Garden City and Great Bend.

Dreher's most recent win against Great Bend was a two-hit shutout where he faced just one batter over the minimum and threw just 73 pitches over seven innings.

Between high school seasons Dreher knew he needed to add size. The 2023 season he played at around 140 pounds. Now in 2024 he is at 170 pounds. The extra muscle and strength has helped him throw harder but also more efficiently.&nbsp;

While he has shown the ability to strike guys out Dreher has no problem letting his defense do the work. The future Tiger calls his current Indian teammates the defense in the state.
