Marvin F. Moser, age 91, passed away on December 25, 2021, at the 
Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on June 2, 
1930, in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of Paul Fredrick and Esther Bjork 
Moser.&nbsp; A lifetime resident of Tribune, Kansas, he owned and operated 
Moser Garage &amp; Auto Parts for over 63 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Tribune, Kansas.

On November 12, 1950, he married Alberta Luekenga in Syracuse, Kansas.&nbsp; She passed away on June 9, 1993, in Tribune, Kansas.

Survivors include his One Son - Danny &amp; Vicki Moser of Tribune, 
Kansas, Two Daughters - Diana &amp; Deke Daniels of Tribune, Kansas, 
Theresa &amp; Steve Mangan of Tribune, Kansas, Seven Grandchildren - 
Tanner Elder of Tribune, Kansas, Tiffany Burrows of Lawrence, Kansas, 
Garrett Daniels of Sharon Springs, Kansas, Kelcey Schweer of Olathe,

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Three Sisters - Vera 
Woods, Lucille Stevenson, Catherine Hamaker, and One Brother - Robert

Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. (M.T.) Friday, December 
31, 2021, at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas with the 
Rev. Shannon Schneider presiding.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Price 
&amp; Sons Funeral Home, 322 2nd Street, Tribune, Kansas, 67879.

Maynard E. Weber, 93, Hays, died Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Brookdale Hays.

He was born August 22, 1928, in El Dorado, the son of Charles William and Bertha Christina (Graves) Weber.&nbsp; He was a graduate of El Dorado High School and received an Associate Degree from Butler County Community College.&nbsp; On February 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mary Alice Doerflinger in El Dorado, and they were married 61 years before she died on March 17, 2009.&nbsp; While living in Ellinwood, Maynard was the Superintendent of Production for Thunderbird Drilling.&nbsp; After moving to Hays in 1961, he worked for Davis, Schneider, and Dreiling Oil Companies.&nbsp; He was a member of Hays Christian Church, El Dorado Christian Church, the Elks, and the Petroleum Club of Great Bend.&nbsp; He enjoyed woodworking, vegetable gardening, and was a terrific cook.&nbsp; He had a lifelong passion for flying and loved spending time with his children.

Survivors include his son: Charles Weber and wife Jolanta of Lodz, Poland, daughter: Carolyn Fuller of Hays, seven grandchildren: Erin Weber, Jennifer Rinard, Sarah Woods, Russell Weber, Fallon Weber, Natalie Fuller-Rathbun, and Christie Fuller, and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Alice, two sons: Raymond E. Weber and Marc Weber, daughter: Diana Kay Weber, and one sister.

Stella C. Gill, 80, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Smith County Memorial Hospital, Smith Center, KS. 
 Stella was born June 12, 1941, in Post, TX, the daughter of Jose and 
Rafaela Camargo.&nbsp; On November 22, 1968, she married Jesse V. Gill in San
 Antonio, TX.&nbsp; To this union they were blessed with two girls, Velma and
 Lori. She was preceded in death by her parents. 
Stella is survived by her husband Jesse V. Gill of Smith Center; two 
daughters, Velma J. Gill and Lori M. Gill; a sister Alice Sanchez and 
two granddaughters Kylie and Kayla Gill. 
 Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 30,

Stella Gill

Florence Rose Ritter Meitl Thompson, 93, of Hoxie, died Tuesday, 
December 21, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. She 
was born December 10, 1928, to Philomena (Minnie) and Bernard (Ben) 
Ritter at the family farm. She was the first born of identical twins and
 the sixth child out of eleven children. She, her twin, Sister Delores, 
and their siblings grew up on the family farm west of Dresden.
 Florence attended Leoville Grade and High School, graduating in May 
1946. After graduation, she worked for several families in the area. On 
May 9, 1950, she married Elmer Meitl at the Immaculate Conception Church
 in Leoville. They settled on a farm south and east of Dresden, along 
the Sheridan-Decatur County line. To this union, eight children were 
born, of which daughter Rose (December 5, 1952) only lived less than a 
day. Elmer passed away October 6, 1976. As a farm wife, she helped with 
the outside activities related to the farm.
 After Elmer’s passing, Florence took over as the regular driver of 
the Hoxie school bus route until she moved to Hoxie on March 29, 1982. 
She then worked at the First Insurance Agency, Inc. On August 30, 1985, 
Florence married Thomas (Tom) Thompson at St. Frances Church in Hoxie. 
They traveled with their camper as well as on bus trips. Tom passed away
 on May 29, 2000. 
 Florence enjoyed being involved in her church, both in Leoville and
 Hoxie. She liked working with wood and created many things for her 
home. She operated the Thrift Shop in Leoville and worked at the Swap 
Shop in Hoxie for several years. She loved her flowers and plants. She 
also machine quilted, finishing many quilts for friends and neighbors.
 Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Elmer Meitl 
and Thomas Thompson; brothers Cletus, Raymond, Seraphim, Francis, 
Sylvester, Victor and Dennis Ritter; sister Alfreda Colling; and 
daughter Rose.
 Florence is survived by her children: Regina (John) Johnson of 
Colby, Jerry (Velma) Meitl of Basehor, KS, Ken (Karen) Meitl of 
Washington, IL., Thomas Meitl of Midland, TX., Carol (Jimmy) Stewart of 
Hoxie; Conrad (Jan) Meitl of Greeley, Co., and Andrew (Cynthia) Meitl 
of Abilene, TX.; her fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great 
grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by two
 sisters, Sister Dolores Ritter and Bernadine Spresser. 
 She relied on her faith to get her through the many trials of her life.
 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, 
10:30 A.M. at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Hoxie, Kansas. A
 lunch will follow the service in the St. Frances Cabrini Social Hall. 
Following the lunch, interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in 
Leoville, Kansas at approximately 1:15 PM. A visitation will be held 
Monday, December 27, 2021, from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Family will

Retha Loree Petrie, age 94, of Oakley, passed away on December 16, 2021,&nbsp; at the Citizen's Medical Center, Colby.&nbsp; She was born to Jesse and 
Adelia (Ottken) Roberts on October 30, 1927, in Oakley.&nbsp; Retha married 
Neal Petrie on November 12, 1949, in Kansas City, Kansas and two children
 were born, Janis and Gary. Retha was preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Adelia, and husband, Neal, who passed away on November 24, 2016. Retha
 is survived by her daughter, Janis Petrie, of Brandon, OR, son, Gary 
and his wife, Cindy, of Everett, PA, a granddaughter, Katelyn and her 
husband Derek Dibert, and great grandchildren, Warren (Hoss) and Reid 
(Little Joe) all of Bedford, PA. Retha was a kind and loving 
mother who was the heart of her small family.&nbsp; She was intent to leave a
 legacy of her life in the gifts to her family. &nbsp;These gifts were the 
love expressed in planting trees, creating quilts, crafting toys and 
furniture for children and grandchildren and so many other acts of 
kindness. &nbsp;Her character was forged as a child growing up during the 
great depression, but she was always reliably gently and kind to all 
people and animals. She was a self-effacing and humble person, 
but also a solid, reliable friend. &nbsp;She had an adventuresome spirit and 
loved life. She is now rewarded and reunited with past friends and 
family in a peaceful new place. A visitation is planned on 
Sunday, December 19, from 5 - to 8 pm&nbsp;at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home.&nbsp; 
The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 20, 2021, at

graduated from Hoisington High School.&nbsp; He owned and operated Finn Well 
Services.&nbsp; On December 31, 1976, he was united in marriage to Becky LaRue
 in Hoisington and they were married 45 years.&nbsp; He was a KU sports fan, 
liked reading, and with his wife enjoyed building furniture, birdhouses,
 and creating sculptures.&nbsp; More than anything, he loved his family.

Survivors include his wife Becky of 
Ulysses, son: Izzy Finn and wife Celia Earle of Hays, a grandson: 
Arthur, mother-in-law: Audrey LaRue of Hays, and two brothers: Greg Finn

Robert Lyn “Rick” Allaman, 75, Hays, died Friday, December 10, 2021 at HaysMed.

He was born February 18, 1946 in 
Goodland, the son of John Francis “Jack” and Ellen Blanche (Rains) 
Allaman.&nbsp; Rick enjoyed working as a computer networking technician for 
SBS/AT&amp;T and a telephone technician at HaysMed.&nbsp; On February 20, 
1969, he was united in marriage to Gayle Lacey, and they were married 25
 years.&nbsp; They remained close friends after their divorce, and she 
survives.&nbsp; Rick loved his family and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed 
hunting, fishing, boating, camping, and time at the lake.

Survivors include his two sons: David 
Allaman of Hays and Scott Allaman and wife Dianna of Lenexa and two 
grandchildren: Jillian and Barrett Allaman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Bradley Allaman, and two brothers: John “Jacky” Allaman and Delphin Darrel Allaman.

Robert Lyn 'Rick' Allaman

Our
 beloved Yvonne Jean Ames, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior 
Jesus Christ on December 24, 2021 at Wichita County Health Center Long 
Term Care Unit. Yvonne was born on November 17, 1936 to Harold and 
Nordene (Cody) Beckland in Olympia, Washington, where she attended her 
12 years of education. A friend of Norman Ames introduced Yvonne and 
Norman while Norman was stationed in the United States Army Engineers in
 Fort Lewis, Washington. On March 9, 1954, Yvonne and Norman were 
married, and in 1954 moved to Crowley, Colorado. Shortly after, in 1955,
 they moved to Leoti, Kansas to farm sugar beets and Norman still farms 
today. They celebrated their 67thyear of marriage in March of 2021.&nbsp;

Yvonne
 loved to cook and spent countless hours creating memorable meals for 
her family and the farm’s wheat and corn harvest crews. When she was not
 cooking, you could find her studying the Bible or quilting while 
enjoying Gospel music. Her talents of hand quilting, embroidery, 
crocheting, and tying of borders created many cherished quilts for 
family and friends. Yvonne loved gardening, decorating, and traveling 
and was an accomplished motorcyclist. She traveled to most of the 
Western states and Belize and loved to have a good time.&nbsp;

Yvonne
 loved her family and when her daughter-in-law, Leah Ames, started 
teaching and coaching, she cooked amazingly delicious full course meals 
every school night for Norman, her sons, Rodney and Steve, their wives, 
and her three grandchildren, Carson, Dillen, and Rheanne Ames. She was 
always quick to include anyone who happened to stop by. Every meal was a
 feast crafted with love. She continued this year after year until Leah 
and Rodney moved to Iowa. Her cooking was a blessing to all.&nbsp;

 is survived by her husband, Norman Ames of Leoti, Kansas, two children 
and their wives, Steve and Deb Ames of Leoti, Kansas and Rodney and Leah
 Ames of Falcon, Colorado, three grandchildren, Carson and Nichole Ames 
of Scott City, Dillen and Autumn Ames of Leoti, Kansas, and Rheanne Ames
 of Colorado Springs, Colorado and six great-grandchildren, Hadleigh and

Rev. Dr. Gary L. Winget, 74, passed away December 24, 2021 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas.&nbsp;

He was born February 16, 1947 in Dodge City, KS, the son of James L. 
and Roberta O. Whipple Winget. He graduated from Hanston High School in 
1965, Sterling College in 1969 and furthered his education by earning 
his Doctorate of Divinity.

He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Larned.&nbsp; Gary 
was a faithful minister to several churches including; First Baptist 
Church and Hanston Mennonite Church, both of Hanston, KS, First Baptist 
Church, Dodge City, KS, First Baptist Church, Holdrege, NE, Wellsville 
Baptist Church, Wellsville, KS, Harmony Baptist Church, Johnstown, OH 
and First Baptist Church of Kennett Square, PA.&nbsp; He worked at Hanston 
Insurance Agency and served as a Hanston State Bank board member.

On May 31, 1969, he married Marilyn Sue Hogue in Topeka, KS.&nbsp; She 
passed away February 18, 2018.&nbsp; On October 11, 2020, he married Janice 
Halling in Salina, KS.&nbsp; She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Shawn (Lynn) Winget, Long Beach, 
CA, Jason (Harmony) Winget, Ellinwood, KS; two daughters, Shannon (Mark)
 Slattery, Larned, KS, Melanie (Frank) Ishimura, Pittsburg, KS; fourteen

Timothy Allan Adamson at the age of 67 passed away at home in Woodruff, KS on December 7, 2021.

Timothy was born January 29, 1954 in Ottumwa, IA the son of Lenard 
Roy Adamson and the former Dorothy Bella McConnell. He was a Vietnam 
Veteran of the US Army serving in Germany.

He owned and operated his own heating and air business before he retired.

He was preceded in death by his father Lenard, mother Dorothy, 
brother's Lenard Adamson, Gary Adamson, and James Adamson, sister 
Pauline Hamilton, and a grandson Payton Adamson.

Survivors include two daughters Rhonda and husband Jack Pryor of 
Pittsburg, KS and Tammy Adamson of Pittsburg, KS; a son Timothy and wife
 Rachel Adamson of Pryor, OK; sister Denise Adamson of Salina, KS; 8 
grandchildren; one great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation was planned.&nbsp; A memorial service will be held Saturday, 
January 29th at 11 am at the Emmanuel Foursquare Church in Salina, KS. 
Inurnment will be in Minneapolis City Cemetery.

Arden Lee Devlin of Smith Center, KS departed his earthly life December 23, 2021, at the age of 84. Arden was born August 18, 1937, in Jewell County Kansas, to Everal and Erma Devlin. He grew up on a farm in Smith County and graduated from Smith Center High School in 1955. 
 Arden started his career as a cattleman and farmer. On February 23, 1962 he married Lynne Ayres. They have two children, Lane Taylor of rural Smith Center and Jan Megan Olin of Golden, Colorado.
 Arden loved to travel. Many family trips were made to Colorado and other places when Lane and Jan were young. Later Arden enjoyed taking trips on his motorcycle with some of his Smith Center buddies. He and Lynne also took multiple trips, including Hawaii, Alaska, and his favorite winter destination, Key West, Florida. He liked to tell people he’d been to the
 Southernmost point and Northernmost point of the United States.
 Until the last year, Arden had an amazing memory. He knew most long time Smith County farmers, where they lived, what land they owned and who owned it before and after. He knew who was related to whom and remembered occurrences well back into his youth as well as stories heard from his elders.
 He was a social person. Like many other Smith County socialites, he was a frequent customer at Paul’s Café where there were daily discussions and multiple problems solved, often the same problem day after day. Everyone knew he loved (and often engaged in) any discussion or argument that came his way.
 Arden often displayed a tough exterior but family and friends were very aware of his soft side and were recipients of his fun and his generosity. They knew how much he cared about and enjoyed them. There were many discussions with him about that fact in his later days.
 Along with many other beloved family members, Arden is survived by his wife, Lynne, his son Lane (Donna) and children, Corbin and Sydney - his daughter, Jan (Keith) and children, Hannah and Madeline. He is also survived by his sister Karen (Gilbert) Frieling.
 We pray that you remember, Lord, all who have died, most especially Arden Lee, all those in the peace of Christ and those whose faith is known to you alone. Bring them into the place of eternal joy and light.

 ten years living in San Diego where he loved being by the ocean, 
playing in the water, taking pictures, and giving old furniture new 
life. Jesse was very creative.
 He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Jack Swaney, and grandma, Ruth Winters.

James Francis “Jim” Hlaus passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, at 
the Ellsworth County Medical Center at the age of 77. He was born on 
September 9, 1944, in Ellsworth, Kansas to James and Barbara (Zeman) 
Hlaus. Jim was united in marriage to Audrey Betz on April 18, 1970, in 
the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wilson. The couple was blessed 
with three children: Tisha, Tyler, and Tayler.
 Jim was raised on the Wilson flats and graduated from Wilson High 
School with the class of 1962. In 1964 he enlisted into the United 
States Navy, where he achieved the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class, and 
earned his aviation mechanic certificate. He was honorably discharged in
 1968, and took a job at Boeing in Wichita, but retuned shortly 
thereafter to help on the farm. In 1981, he switched gears and joined on
 with Koch Oil in Russell, KS where he continued to raise his family. In
 2000, another career change took him to Pratt, KS where he worked for 
Wildlife and Parks for 6 years until he and Audrey retired back to 
Wilson. He stayed busy after his retirement, helping Victor Bros Auction
 and Realty, and anyone else who needed an extra hand. Jim loved 
farming, hunting, fishing, and watching sports. Most of all though, he 
loved the time spent with his family.
 Jim was a laid back, fun-loving man who knew how to enjoy life along
 the way. His dry wit and sly grin never failed to bring plenty of 
smiles and laughter. Jim will forever be missed, and his memories 
forever cherished by all who knew him. 
 He is survived by his wife, Audrey Hlaus of the home in Wilson; 
children, Tisha Dixon of Manhattan, KS, Tyler (Nicole) Hlaus of The 
Highlands, KS, and Tayler Hlaus of Wilson, KS; sister, Barbara Princ of 
Wilson, KS; three grandchildren, Harlee Thompson (Garrett Nelson), Royce
 Dixon, and Elliot Hlaus; and one great-grandson, Kannan Thompson.
 Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara Hlaus; 
brother, John Hlaus; and brother-in-law, John Princ, as well as many 
good friends in recent years.

James Francis 'Jim' Hlaus

Sherrie “Joan” Showalter, age 83, passed away on Friday, December 24,
 2021, at her home on Christmas Eve.&nbsp; She was born on February 23, 1938,
 in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Forrest King 
Kennedy.&nbsp; Joan was one of 10 children.&nbsp; She was a member of Bible 
Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas, after she and her sister 
transferred their letter from the First Christian Church in Scott City, 
Kansas.

Joan married the love of her life, Scott Showalter, on March 23, 
1956, in Clayton, New Mexico.&nbsp; They were married for 64 years before he 
passed away on April 29, 2020, in Garden City, Kansas.

Joan owned and operated a dress shop, Sherrie Lee's in Garden City, 
Kansas for several years. &nbsp;She also worked for Conrad's Dress Store for 
several years after that.

Joan&nbsp;and Scott enjoyed traveling and took trips to Paris, South 
Africa, and Saudi Arabia.&nbsp; Fishing was a passion they both shared and 
they traveled to a lot of different places to fulfill that hobby.&nbsp; Scott
 was a founding member of Pope &amp; Young and was also on their board 
of directors and Joan truly enjoyed attending and participating in those
 meetings held all over the US.

Survivors include her Three Sons - Sheldon &amp; Cheri Showalter of 
Garden City, Kansas, Shane &amp; Sue Showalter of Holcomb, Kansas, Shea 
&amp; Charity Showalter of Colorado Springs, Colorado, One Sister - 
Barbara Kennedy-Drew of Garden City, Kansas, and Scott &amp; Joan’s 
devoted care taker, Vicki McInnis, Seven Grandchildren and Three Great 
Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Six Brothers and Two Sisters, and numerous Nieces &amp; Nephews.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, 
December 30, 2021, at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas 
with Pastor&nbsp;Jeff Starkey presiding.

Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery.

Joan Showalter

Joan M. Chisholm, 86, passed away on December 23, 2021, at Good 
Samaritan in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born on May 18, 1935 at 
Ellinwood, Kansas to Harry M. &amp; Mary Anna (Weber) Schartz. Joan 
married Paul R. Chisholm on August 24, 1957 at Great Bend.&nbsp; He died 
April 1, 2011.

Mrs. Chisholm was a life-long area resident. A devoted farm wife and 
homemaker, Joan was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and Altar 
Society. She loved spending time with her family, especially her 
grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Scott Chisholm and wife Linda of Great 
Bend, Kansas; two grandchildren, Ashley Gerhardt and husband Ryan, and 
Brent Chisholm and fiancé Erin Ensley, all of Great Bend, Kansas; two 
great-grandchildren, Bexley and Korbyn Gerhardt. She was preceded in 
death by her parents; husband Paul; son, Brad and infant twin daughters;
 brother, Melvin N. Schartz and sister, Norma Lee Garrett.

Visitation will take place on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 2:00 to
 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home with an Altar Society Rosary at 4:00 
p.m. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday. Interment

Leland Wegele, 89, passed away on December 23, 2021, at his home in 
Otis, Kansas. He was born on January 3, 1932 to Jacob and Pauline 
(Bitter) Wegele. He married Joyce Karst on October 23, 1955 in 
Milberger, Kansas. She survives.

A lifetime resident of Otis and a “jack-of-all-trades”, Leland was a 
farmer, welder, and carpenter. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran 
Church in Great Bend and the Great Bend Wood Carvers Club. Leland 
especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by a son, Richard (Miya) Wegele of Pleasant View, 
Arizona; daughter Paula (Steve) Storm and Leann Wegele, all of Albert, 
Kansas; grandchildren Michael (Michele) Gowans, Morgan Wegele, Jackson 
Linenberg, Sam (Tara) Storm, and Kelly (Derrick) Heuer; and many 
great-grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents and three 
brothers, Albert, Ernest, and Paul.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from Noon 
to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 
6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December

Sue Jacobs, 69, died December 23, 2021, at Clara Barton Hospital, 
Hoisington, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born June 5, 1952, in Great Bend, Kansas, 
the daughter of Bernard and Marjorie (Stukey) Beck.&nbsp; Sue graduated in 
1970 from Hoisington High School and attended Barton County Community 
College.

On April 21, 1972, she married Edgar L. Jacobs at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington.

Sue was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Altar Society. 
She was active in her community, and would substitute teach and fill in 
as the music director at the Claflin and Centeral Plains Schools when 
needed.&nbsp; She was the co-owner and bookkeeper for the Odin Store working 
alongside her husband Edgar.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years, Edgar Jacobs; two 
children, Monte Jacobs and wife Crystal, and Renee Zink and husband 
Neil, all of Odin; a sister, Jane Norris of Atlanta, Georgia; and her 
four beloved grandchildren, Carson Jacobs, Bella, Lily, and Jacob Zink.&nbsp;

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, with family to greet 
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Vigil and Rosary will begin at 7 p.m., all at 
Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 
2021, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin, celebrated by Father

GARDEN CITY — Houston Hassler, 75, died on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 
at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born on Feb. 3, 
1946 at Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Algie Houston and Alma 
(Kroll) Hassler. He married Verna Mae Dunkel on June 4, 1966 at Lakin. 
Houston moved with his family to southwest Kansas when he was 15 years 
old from Mount Rose, Mo. He lived in Big Bow and Lakin areas and 
moved to Garden City in 1968. He spent his career working for area 
farmers. He attended St Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. He never 
knew a stranger and enjoyed attending auctions to visit with people. He
 enjoyed driving country roads to see the country and looking at old 
farmsteads. In his earlier years he broke horses, liked working on Ford
 pickups and was known as the local Volkswagen guru. Recently he liked 
to travel. 
He is survived by his wife- Verna, eight children, brother, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 
his parents, three brothers, three sisters and one great-grandson. 
Funeral service will at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 at First Assembly 
Of God Church in Garden City with Rev Nathan Sheridan officiating. 
Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
