Gladys Irene Cochran Pletcher born to Roy & Nora Carter Cochran
January 13, 1925, in Norway Kansas. Gladys passed away Friday, February
11, 2022, at SunPorch in Smith Center, KS.
She graduated from Smith Center High School in 1944. She had
several jobs from Western Kansas to Topeka. Worked at the local library
when She met and married Abraham Lincoln Pletcher (Babe) December 26,
1945. To this union was born two children: Dennis E and Catherine S.
She enjoyed her flowers, bowling, golfing and being outside by traveling with husband and friends.
He and Gladys continued to reside on their family farm until Feb 2013 when they moved to Smith Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 69 years,
son-in-law Joseph Lanus and siblings Richard Cochran, Dorothy Chase,
Keith Cochran , Caleb Cochran and Jean Bruno.
Those mourning her death is son Dennis and wife Linda of Portis,
daughter Catherine Lanus of Smith Center, grandsons: Daniel Pletcher and
wife Julie of Portis, and Allen Lanus of Smith Center.
Great grandchildren: Logan, Briley, Jade and Dane. Brother Bill
Cochran of Norton, numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and
friends.
