Carmelita M. Pomeroy, a beautiful soul flew up to Heaven on Tuesday, 
April 4, 2023. Carmelita (Wedman) was born December 19, 1932, in 
Danville, Kansas, the daughter of Francis &amp; Laura (Oliver) Wedman, 
where she was raised on a farm and grew up with 7 siblings. 
 She married Carl Pomeroy on November 26, 1951, in Danville, Kansas.
 They lived in Stockton, Kansas, for a short time before moving to 
Garden City in 1967. They have lived in Garden City and Lakin since. A
 homemaker, Carmelita was a wonderful mother and fantastic cook, and 
loved to spend her time cleaning, gardening, fishing, camping, and 
enjoyed going to the casino. She had a love for little children and 
were the light of her life. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic 
Church in Garden City and the Altar Society. 
 Survivors include her three children Carolyn (John) Shanley of 
Thornton, Colorado, Marilyn Tucker of Garden City, Kansas, and Michael 
(Diane) Pomeroy of Newton, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 11 
great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Carmelita is preceded
 in death by her husband Carl who died on December 7, 2015. She is also
 preceded in death by a son-in-law George Tucker; and as the last 
surviving member of her siblings, she is also preceded in death by 5 
brothers Bob Wedman, Donald Wedman, Gerald Wedman, Dennis Wedman, &amp; 
Dale Wedman; and 2 sisters Mary Kathryn Moritz and Julia Ann Moritz. 
Carmelita will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. 
 A Vigil service &amp; Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, 
April 10, 2023, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas. 
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, 
also at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Warren Stecklein as 
Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Ruth Eleanor (Vogel) Liston, 94, passed away on March 30, 2023, at 
Weston Country Hospital, New Castle, Wyo. She was born on April 26, 
1928, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Charles and Alma (English) Vogel, and was
 raised on a homestead ranch south of New Castle, Wyo. On May 16, 1950, 
she was united in holy matrimony to John L. Liston in Topeka, Kan. He 
passed on June 26, 2006.

A Great Bend resident for 61 years prior to moving to New Castle, 
Wyo., in 2011, Ruth worked for the USD 428 Central Kitchen for 11 years 
as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish 
at St. Rose in Great Bend, Altar Society, and Church of Corpus Christi 
in New Castle. Ruth’s life was her family and she cherished time with 
them.

Survivors include two sons, John C. Liston of New Castle, Wyo., and 
Matthew P. Liston (Kim) of Larned, Kan.; three daughters, Mary Ellen 
Liston of Resda, Calif., Kathleen M. McGhee (Michael) of Woodstock, Ga.,
 and Patricia Neybert (Ken) of Ellijay, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Sean 
McGahee, Jennifer Conley, Anna Wilbanks, Daniel Liston, Richard Liston, 
Sarah Betzen, and Patrick Liston; and four great-grandchildren. She is 
preceded in death by her husband; a son, Kevin M. Liston; her parents;

Cordelia “Corky” Monroe passed away on March 29, 2023, at the Aspen 
Leaf Assisted Living Center in Stratton, 
CO.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Corky was born to Clyde and Emma Mullis on July 2, 1945, in 
Burlington, Colorado. She was the youngest of 4 children. She got the 
name Corky from her oldest brother because he couldn’t say Cordelia.&nbsp; 
During high school, Corky babysat and later worked at William’s Café on 
Main Street in Burlington. She spent her money on the movies and Elvis 
Presley albums of which she had many. She saw every movie that he made 
more times than you can count. As a young girl, she enjoyed “dragging 
main” with her girlfriends, roller skating and going to the movie 
theatre. &nbsp;She was a member of the Four Square Church in Burlington. It 
was at one of the church skating parties where she met Loran Monroe. The
 two got married in June of 1963 after Corky graduated from High school.
 &nbsp;They lived in Goodland, Kansas until after their first daughter was 
born when they moved back to Burlington where their other 3 daughters 
were born. While in Burlington, Corky babysat for a friend. She was a 
member of the Rebekah’s for many years.

In 1973, the family moved to a farm north of Stratton where she 
helped with the dairy and farming. She also raised 300 chickens for 
family members and gardened. Corky also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.&nbsp; 
She was a 4-H leader for 16 years when her children were in 4-H.

In 1993, she and Loran separated and she moved back to Burlington 
where she went to work for Alco. She worked there for over 20 years 
until they closed and she retired.&nbsp; She enjoyed her job and visiting 
with the customers. She always said she missed the people after she quit
 working.

Corky enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was very proud of all of them.

Corky is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Emma, son-in-law 
Terry Brachtenbach, &nbsp;sister Eileen Weis, sister-in-law Jeanette Mullis, 
&nbsp;niece Georgie Ann Mullis, nephew David Mullis, brother-in-law Bernard 
Clark and niece Cathy Sevrin.

She is survived by her daughters Darla (Verlan) McDonald of Kirk, CO.
 Donna (Sheldon) Tatkenhorst of Stratton, CO. Deena (Roger) Peck of

Cordelia 'Corky' Monroe

Dr. Ali Bülent Manguoglu, 69, of Salina, KS passed 
away peacefully at home surrounded by his daughters and wife on April 
4th, 2023, with the support of Gentiva Hospice. Dr. Manguoglu was born 
in Izmir, Turkey, on May 12th, 1953.

He graduated from Hacettepe University School of Medicine, Ankara, 
Turkey in 1976, and then attended Ankara University School of Medicine, 
Ankara, Turkey, Dept. of General Surgery as a 1st year resident. Ali’s 
journey in the United States started at Baystate Medical Center, 
Springfield, Massachusetts, Dept. of General Surgery, then onto the 
University of Kansas School of Medicine, KC, KS, Dept. of Neurological 
Surgery (rock chalk!) for his Neurosurgery Residency. Ali then ventured 
to the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, Dept. of Neurosurgery, 
Registrar/Fellow, and finally the University of Maryland, Baltimore, 
Maryland, SHOCK-TRAUMA Unit, Neurotrauma Fellowship. &nbsp;

Dr. Manguoglu’s board certifications include the American Board of 
Neurological Surgery and Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, UK in 
Surgical Neurology (SN.) Ali established “Salina Neurological Surgery” 
practice in 1985, and then established (with Salina Regional Health 
Center) “Salina Regional Neurosurgery.” He retired in 2019 due to health
 conditions. He proudly served Salina and surrounding communities for 
nearly 35 years. &nbsp;

Not only was Dr. Manguoglu a world-renowned Neurosurgeon, but lived 
each day to the fullest, as if it were his last – travelling the world 
with his family and creating an endless book of stories. His favorite 
hobbies included listening and dancing to music, cooking, skiing, 
gardening, and rescuing animals.

Unfortunately, Dr. Ali B. Manguoglu lost his battle with terminal 
cancer and Parkinson’s disease after he fought hard to continue normalcy
 and create as many memories as he could in his final year, such as 
visiting his daughters and grandchildren, taking a final trip to Turkey 
and a memorable weekend in Kansas City at Tasso’s and Arthur Bryant’s.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Manguoglu, daughters Ayse 
Heisdorf and Safiye Williams, their husbands John Heisdorf and Mark 
Williams, and stepdaughter Heather Jones. Ali is also survived by his 
grandchildren Kai and Koa Williams and Ayla Heisdorf, as well as 
brothers Enis and Turgut Manguoglu. Ali was preceded in death by his 
stepson Steven Jones, and parents Fetih Manguoglu and Ahter Alkum.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 7th, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N
 8th St., Salina, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a graveside service will be 
held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8th, at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox foundation for 
Parkinson’s research, care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth Street,

Dr. Ali Bülent Manguoglu

Donald H. Pratt, age 85, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023.

Don was born in Hays, KS to Donald and Ida Pratt on December 2, 1937. He grew up in Hays with his two brothers, Lawrence (deceased) and Steve. He developed a passion for airplanes much like his father. He first started flying airplanes at age 14 and was a crop-duster during summer breaks. He attended Wichita State University earning a civil engineering degree and bringing the national fraternity Beta Theta Tau to WSU and becoming its first chapter President. He spent three years in the United States Air Force as a Base Civil Engineer at Otis Air Force Base in Wareham, Massachusetts He was disappointed that he was unable to fly for the Air Force, as it was determined that he was green/gray color blind. After receiving an honorable discharge, he attended Harvard University and earned his MBA.

Upon graduation, he went to work with Butler Manufacturing. Don spent 36 years at Butler building an illustrious career. He started as an industrial engineer in Galesburg, Illinois, and after several years was brought to the headquarters in Kansas City, Mo. Over the next three decades he became the President and then Chairman of the Board, growing the company both nationally and internationally. After his retirement he served as the Independent Chairman of the Board at American Century Investments for seven years and considered his time at American Century to be both fulfilling and rewarding.

While at Wichita State, Don met George-Ann Hinkle and they were married June 7, 1960. They were married for 61 years prior to her passing in 2021. He and George-Ann raised their family of two children, Jacqueline and Donald, in Kansas City. Don generously shared his knowledge and time in his community as well; serving on the Nelson Gallery Board of Trustees, and the Union National Bank Board in Wichita, Ks. He was a longtime member of Mission Hills Country Club and the River Club. In his retirement, Don and George-Ann adopted Shelbyville, TN. as their second home. While George-Ann pursued her equestrian passion with Tennessee Walking horses, Don became an active member of the community. He was very involved with St William Catholic Church as well as the Riverbend Country Club. Don was an avid golfer and particularly enjoyed time spent on the course with his son, and life long friends. He was particularly proud of his club tournament wins and the opportunity to play in several pro-am events with American Century.

Don was a thoughtful, wise and gracious man who was always willing to listen and provide guidance. Don is survived by two children, Jacqueline P. (Matthew) McGuire and Donald A. (Kathy) Pratt; two grandchildren, Kevin (Courtney) Crawford and Grant (Alivia) Crawford; and a great-granddaughter, Lilliana Lynn Crawford.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 11 at St. Ann Catholic Church Chapel, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208. A Celebration of Life will be held 3-5 p.m., Thursday, May 11 at Mission Hills Country Club, 5400 Mission Dr., Mission Hills, KS.

 </figure>Donald H. Pratt, age 85, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023.Don was born in Hays, KS to Donald and Ida Pratt on December 2, 1937. He grew up in Hays with his two brothers, Lawrence (deceased) and Steve. He developed a passion for airplanes much like his father. He first started flying airplanes at age 14 and was a crop-duster during summer breaks. He attended Wichita State University earning a civil engineering degree and bringing the national fraternity Beta Theta Tau to WSU and becoming its first chapter President. He spent three years in the United States Air Force as a Base Civil Engineer at Otis Air Force Base in Wareham, Massachusetts He was disappointed that he was unable to fly for the Air Force, as it was determined that he was green/gray color blind. After receiving an honorable discharge, he attended Harvard University and earned his MBA.Upon graduation, he went to work with Butler Manufacturing. Don spent 36 years at Butler building an illustrious career. He started as an industrial engineer in Galesburg, Illinois, and after several years was brought to the headquarters in Kansas City, Mo. Over the next three decades he became the President and then Chairman of the Board, growing the company both nationally and internationally. After his retirement he served as the Independent Chairman of the Board at American Century Investments for seven years and considered his time at American Century to be both fulfilling and rewarding.While at Wichita State, Don met George-Ann Hinkle and they were married June 7, 1960. They were married for 61 years prior to her passing in 2021. He and George-Ann raised their family of two children, Jacqueline and Donald, in Kansas City. Don generously shared his knowledge and time in his community as well; serving on the Nelson Gallery Board of Trustees, and the Union National Bank Board in Wichita, Ks. He was a longtime member of Mission Hills Country Club and the River Club. In his retirement, Don and George-Ann adopted Shelbyville, TN. as their second home. While George-Ann pursued her equestrian passion with Tennessee Walking horses, Don became an active member of the community. He was very involved with St William Catholic Church as well as the Riverbend Country Club. Don was an avid golfer and particularly enjoyed time spent on the course with his son, and life long friends. Donald H. Pratt

Luetta B. Harrell, 93, passed away April 1, 2023,&nbsp; while under hospice care at Presbyterian Manor. Luetta was born May 15, 
1929, in Ellis, Kansas, the seventh of ten children belonging to Walter 
and Eva (Sauer) Haneke. 

Luetta graduated from Ellis High School in 1946 
and went on to marry George Harrell of Barnard, Kansas, on February 22nd,
 1948. They were married fifty-one years and spent most of their married
 lives in Salina. Luetta began her career as a receptionist at Waddell 
&amp; Reed and worked her way up to Financial Advisor where she helped a
 multitude of people manage their finances for over thirty years.

Luetta was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and 
was active in the Ladies Elks Club of Salina. As a first generation 
American, she enjoyed cooking Austrian recipes her mother, Eva, brought 
with her when she immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island.

Luetta was preceded in death by her husband, George Harrell in 1999; 
three sisters, and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter Joleen
 Stein (Steve) of Gypsum; grandchildren, Melynda McCabe (Chris) and 
Thomas Stein (Elane); great-grandchildren, Jack, Jace, Addie, Ellyanna; 
granddaughters, Bailey Harrell, Madison Harrell; son Mike Harrell; and 
siblings Donna Henderson and Don Haneke.

A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers,

Frank Eugene Lee was born July 23, 1972, to Donald and Betty (Perrin) 
Lee in Great Bend, Ks and passed away April 3, 2023, in Smith Center, Ks.
 He graduated from Larned High School in 1990. He met and later married 
Jennifer Park in Hays, Ks on November 20, 1997. To this union were born 
three children; Andrea, Brendan, and Addisyn. Frank worked as a CNA and 
was a sales associate.&nbsp;

He enjoyed coaching his girls 
in youth softball over the years. He followed his son in wrestling and 
football. Frank enjoyed watching sports on TV with his kids when they 
were grown.

Frank is survived by his three children, 
Andrea Lee, Brendan Lee, Addisyn Lee, and their mother Jennifer Lee; a 
sister Michelle Lee. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee, 
and his mother, Betty Lee.

Dolorsis R. "Dee" Scheetz, age 85, of Pflugerville, Texas, passed away 
April 3, 2023, at Round Rock Assisted Living in Round Rock, Texas, with 
her son Christopher Scheetz by her side. Dee was born on January 
13, 1938, in Oakley, Kansas. Her parents were Gabriel Scheetz and 
Bernadine (Ecclesfield) Scheetz. She graduated from Oakley High School 
Class of 1956. For college, she graduated from Loretto Heights Academy 
near Denver, Colorado. She retired from IBM after 33 years of service, 
where she worked on numerous technologies that changed our daily lives. 
Early in her career, she was a proponent who fought for equal pay for 
women and racial equality in hiring. She was heavily involved in 
charitable work and the Catholic church. As one of the founding members 
of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Austin, Texas, she founded 
the high school youth group. She served on numerous committees, 
including building the church and new parish hall. Dee was an active 
Dame of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, where she achieved 
the highest promotion to Lady of the Grand Cross. Serving an 
organization that she loved, she is a past State Regent of the Catholic 
Daughters of the Americas. In 2019, the Diocese of Austin awarded her 
the Lumen Gentium Award. She donated not only her time, but her wealth. 
Dee gifted the church many items such as the grand piano, the 
audio-visual system, and numerous pieces of artwork. She had a passion 
for sports, charitable giving, cultural activities, entertainment, 
family, and the sanctity of life. Preceding her in death was her 
father, Gabriel Scheetz, her mother, Bernadine (Ecclesfield) Scheetz, 
and her brothers, Bernard, Richard, and Philip Scheetz. Surviving
 Dee is her son Chris Scheetz, brother Dennis Scheetz and his wife 
Phyllis (Ostmeyer) Scheetz, sister-in-law Sally Scheetz, nieces, and 
nephews, Melissa (Scheetz) Romme, Mary Ann (Scheetz) Rabe, Stanley

Roy Lee McFrederick, 74, passed away on March 29, 2023, at University
 of Kansas Health Systems – Great Bend Campus, Great Bend, Kan. He was 
born on March 1, 1949, in Wichita, Kan., to Roy Lewis and Josephine Mary
 (Chan) McFrederick.

An area resident of Ellinwood and Great Bend coming from Wichita, Roy
 worked as a mechanical engineer. He was a veteran of the United States 
Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Roy was a member of Prince of 
Peace Parish – St. Rose of Lima Church and VFW, and enjoyed watching 
T.V., collecting DVDs, and especially loved his dogs.

Survivors include a son, Adrien McFrederick of Hume, Mo.; three 
sisters, Ruth McFredrick of St. John, Kan., Sr. Amy McFrederick of South
 Bend, Ind., and Nita (Randy) Trantham of Leeds, Ala.; nieces and 
nephews, John, Stephanie, Leslie, Terri, Billy, Chaz, Audrey, Michael, 
Brigette, and Mark. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, 
William “Bill” McFrederick; and infant sisters, Mary Evangeline and Rita
 Jane.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Funeral 
services will be held at a later date. Memorials have been designated to
 the Dominican Sisters of Peace, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

Roy Lee McFrederick

Phillipsburg resident Lois Ann Haas passed away Tuesday, April 4, 
2023, at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Lois was born on August 7, 1954, in Phillipsburg, Kansas, to Milo and Norma (Stevens) Gitchel.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents Milo and Norma, brothers Allan and Elbert Gitchel, and sister Kathy Willis.

Survivors include her husband Larry Haas of Phillipsburg, daughters 
Eula Runnion and husband Brian of Wichita, Kansas, and Monica Wagner and
 husband Wade of Smith Center, Kansas, brother Delbert Gitchel of 
Wilcox, Nebraska, sister Eileen Branstetter of Salina, Kansas, 
brother-in-law Dennis Willis of Smith Center, and her faithful dog 
Missy.

A funeral service for Lois will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, 
10:30 a.m., at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg, with 
Pastor Bud Gillett and Pastor Jay Brandon officiating.

Lois Ann Haas

The Rev. Robert M. Ziegler, 88 years old, longtime Pastor for Trinity 
Lutheran Church, was called to his heavenly home following the early 
service on Sunday, April 2, 2023. 
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 
the Trinity Lutheran Church, 603 N. Eighth St, Atchison, KS. Graveside
 services and burial will be held at 3:30 pm Tuesday, at the Vesta 
Cemetery, Vesta, NE. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 
10th, 2023, starting at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Trinity Lutheran 
School Gymnasium. Pastor Ziegler will lie in state at the church one 
hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Church Endowment Fund, the TLC Mission Endowment Fund, or the Trinity

Robert M. Ziegler was born on April 14, 1934, in Vesta, NE the son of 
Robert M. and Esther J. (Jobst) Ziegler. He went to grade school and 
high school in Vesta, NE. He was called by the Lord to enter the 
Ministry and attended St. John’s Lutheran Academy and College, Winfield,
 KS. He then attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. He completed
 his work at the seminary and served his vicarage at Our Savior’s 
Lutheran Church in Mankato, Minnesota. He was ordained on July 19, 1959
 and served at Zion Lutheran Church, Claflin, KS for ten years. He 
received and accepted a call to Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison and 
was installed as Pastor on September 14, 1969. During this period of 
time he had served as vacancy pastor in seven different congregations; 
Russell, Ellinwood, Hoisington, Lyons, Holyrood, Nortonville, and 
Wathena, KS. He had served as Circuit Counselor for the Great Bend and 
Atchison Circuits and served several years as a member of the Kansas 
District Board of Directors LCMS. Pastor Ziegler had also worked as a 
chaplain at Valley Hope Treatment Center, Atchison KS from 1971-1988. 
Pastor Ziegler enjoyed attending musical programs, a Christmas Carol, 
the KC Renaissance Festival, any kind of lecture, all things Husker, and
 was an avid reader and learner. 
He was married to Esther Johnson on October 18, 1959, in Claflin, KS. 
Esther preceded him in death on June 25th, 2000. After many years Pastor
 Ziegler was married to Charlotte (Pinnt) Teuscher on April 17, 2020. 
They had been college classmates at St. John’s College and found each 
other at a class reunion. Charlotte survives of the home.

 (Preston) Compton, Elgin, SC, and Allison (Ron) Arends, Melvin, IL 
son-in-law Rick Williams, Cleveland, OH,  two sisters Nancy Nelson, 
Marcus, IA and Virginia Thomas, Beatrice, NE, seven grandchildren and 
one great grandchild, five step children, Terri McLean, Dallas, TX, Tom 
Teuscher, Springfield, MO, Tracy Lawson, Eldorado, KS, Tamara Morin, 
Leawood, KS, and Ted Teuscher, Lenexa, KS, fourteen step grandchildren, 
thirty three step great grandchildren and one step great great 
grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

service on Sunday, April 2, 2023. 
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 
the Trinity Lutheran Church, 603 N. Eighth St, Atchison, KS. Graveside
 services and burial will be held at 3:30 pm Tuesday, at the Vesta 
Cemetery, Vesta, NE. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 
10th, 2023, starting at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Trinity Lutheran 
School Gymnasium. Pastor Ziegler will lie in state at the church one 
hour prior to services on Tuesday. Memorial contributions are suggested
 to the Trinity Lutheran School Endowment Fund, the Trinity Lutheran 
Church Endowment Fund, the TLC Mission Endowment Fund, or the Trinity 
Lutheran School Grant Fund and may be sent in care of the

Robert M. Ziegler was born on April 14, 1934, in Vesta, NE the son of 
Robert M. and Esther J. (Jobst) Ziegler. He went to grade school and 
high school in Vesta, NE. He was called by the Lord to enter the 
Ministry and attended St. John’s Lutheran Academy and College, Winfield,
 KS. He then attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. He completed
 his work at the seminary and served his vicarage at Our Savior’s 
Lutheran Church in Mankato, Minnesota. He was ordained on July 19, 1959
 and served at Zion Lutheran Church, Claflin, KS for ten years. He 
received and accepted a call to Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison and 
was installed as Pastor on September 14, 1969. During this period of 
time he had served as vacancy pastor in seven different congregations; 
Russell, Ellinwood, Hoisington, Lyons, Holyrood, Nortonville, and 
Wathena, KS. He had served as Circuit Counselor for the Great Bend and 
Atchison Circuits and served several years as a member of the Kansas 
District Board of Directors LCMS. Pastor Ziegler had also worked as a 
chaplain at Valley Hope Treatment Center, Atchison KS from 1971-1988. 
Pastor Ziegler enjoyed attending musical programs, a Christmas Carol, 
the KC Renaissance Festival, any kind of lecture, all things Husker, and
 was an avid reader and learner. 
He was married to Esther Johnson on October 18, 1959, in Claflin, KS. 
Esther preceded him in death on June 25th, 2000. After many years Pastor
 Ziegler was married to Charlotte (Pinnt) Teuscher on April 17, 2020. 
They had been college classmates at St. John’s College and found each 
other at a class reunion. Charlotte survives of the home. Additional 
survivors include a son Andrew Ziegler, Cleveland OH, two daughters Anne
 (Preston) Compton, Elgin, SC, and Allison (Ron) Arends, Melvin, IL 
son-in-law Rick Williams, Cleveland, OH, two sisters Nancy Nelson, 
Marcus, IA and Virginia Thomas, Beatrice, NE, seven grandchildren and 
one great grandchild, five step children, Terri McLean, Dallas, TX, Tom 
Teuscher, Springfield, MO, Tracy Lawson, Eldorado, KS, Tamara Morin, 
Leawood, KS, and Ted Teuscher, Lenexa, KS, fourteen step grandchildren, 
thirty three step great grandchildren and one step great great 
grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His parents, wife 
Esther, daughter Angela J. Williams, grandson Trent Arends, brother 
Richard Ziegler, and brother-in-law Roger Nelson, preceded him in death.&nbsp;

The Rev. Robert M. Ziegler

Jerry D. Stupka, of Trenton, Neb., was born August 10, 1938, on a farm 
north of Stratton to Mary (Sis) and William Stupka. He attended country 
school and Stratton (Neb.) High School.&nbsp;

On May 28, 1959, Jerry married 
Rita Janousek at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton, Nebraska, of 
which he later became a member. Three children were born to this union. 
Jerry and Rita built a rich life together in Trenton. Jerry and Rita 
enjoyed their travels to visit friends and family across the country and
 were blessed to journey to Mexico, Canada, the Czech Republic, and 
Ireland. Jerry loved the soup in Ireland.&nbsp;

Jerry was active in 
community affairs and served on the Trenton Fire Department, Trenton 
Village Board, and the El Dorado Nursing Home Board. At the time of his 
death, he was serving on the Hitchcock County Museum Board, the Court 
Street Villa Board, and the Trenton Planning Commission.

Jerry 
wore many hats during his lifetime, including farmer, service station 
owner, over-the-road truck driver, oil field worker, and grocery store 
owner. Collecting and restoring John Deere was a passion for many years.
 He loved dogs, especially his special pal, Brandi the border collie. He
 was an excellent mechanic and an accomplished welder. He was able to 
repair nearly anything.

Jerry passed away at his home in Trenton on Sunday April 2, 2023. He was 84 years of age.

He
 was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donald and William; and 
sister, Irene Maybell. Surviving are his wife, Rita; sons, Scott 
(Brenda) of Anselmo, Nebraska and Stuart (Melissa) of Hays, Kansas; 
daughter Stacy of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren: Brandon of Greeley, 
Colorado, Danielle Gilligan (Tyler) of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Keenan of 
Anselmo, Kassandra Speer of Long Island, Kansas, Kelsey Schoen (Jason) 
of Hays, and Cecilia and Tristan Burda of Lincoln; eleven 
great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Jerry 
never met a stranger, he had a keen sense of humor and loved to laugh 
and joke with friends and family. He was a favorite person of many and 
we shall miss him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, 
April 9, 2023, from 5PM-7PM at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton.&nbsp; A 
rosary will be recited following the visitation at 7PM.

Mass of 
Christian burial will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 
St. James Catholic Church in Trenton with Father Gary Brethour 
celebrating.&nbsp; Interment will follow services in St. Cemetery in Trenton.

Rosalie “Rose” M. Desmond, age 91, formerly of McCook, NE passed away
 on Monday, April 3, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society of Oberlin, KS.
 She was born in Wilsonville, NE on January 20, 1932, to Earl and Lizzie
 Belle (Bates) Palmer.&nbsp; Rose attended and graduated from Wilsonville 
High School in 1950. Rose was united in marriage to Bennie G. Desmond on
 July 24, 1951. To this union three children were born: Bennie JR, 
Dannie, and Marilyn.

Rose attended and graduated from the McCook 
Beauty College and opened her own shop in Cambridge. She and Bennie 
moved to McCook in 1974 and opened Westside Beauty and Barber. After 
retirement the couple lived at Brookdale in McCook until their health 
declined, when they moved to Oberlin to be close to family.

Rose 
had an infectious personality and a great sense of humor. She enjoyed 
spending time with family and friends. &nbsp;She followed her kids and 
grandkids programs and sporting events. &nbsp;She was the rock of the family,
 patient and solid in her foundation. Rose was a member of the McCook 
Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 
husband, Ben; sisters, Ila (LeRoy) Potter, Gail (Gail) Kasson; brother, 
Darrell Palmer; brother-in-law, Jerry Bennett.

Rose is survived by
 her daughter, Marilyn and husband Steve Diederich of Oberlin, KS; two 
sons, Bennie Jr. and wife Rhonda Desmond of Torrington, WY, Dannie and 
wife Terri Desmond of Lincoln, NE; eight grandchildren; 16 great 
grandchildren; sister, Joan Bennett of Cozad; sister-in-law, June Palmer

Dalton Lynn Frost, 30, passed away on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023, at his home in Gorham, KS.&nbsp;

Dalton and his identical twin brother, Dakota, were born on September 16th, 1992,&nbsp;in Hays, KS to Gerald and Vickie Frost. His childhood and school years were spent spread between Salina, Russell and Natoma, KS.&nbsp;His adult life was spent mainly in Colorado and Russell working in the fencing business and in several different areas&nbsp;in the oilfield. He was one of the hardest workers anyone ever knew.

Dalton and his twin were daredevils from the start and lived life at full speed. He loved being in the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, going to the lake, or just driving on country roads for hours.&nbsp;There wasn’t a mechanical issue that he couldn’t solve or a tool he couldn’t reinvent to get the job done. He loved cracking open a cold one and shooting the breeze with his friends and family. His daughter, Kenlee, was his world and he did anything and everything he could for her. Dalton never knew a stranger because anyone he met automatically became his friend. His big smile, loving hugs and great sense of humor would make&nbsp;anyone’s day better. He would do anything for anyone&nbsp;and was selfless to a fault. His family, daughter and close friends meant everything to him&nbsp;and&nbsp;are the reason he stayed on Earth as long as he did.&nbsp;

He was&nbsp;preceded&nbsp;in death by his twin brother, Dakota; his paternal and maternal grandparents; three uncles; two aunts; and a niece.

He is survived by his mother, Vickie Frost (Leonard Boese) of Susank, KS; his father, Gerald Frost of Russell, KS; his daughter, Kenlee Peterson, and his son, Jaxon Casper, both of Russell, KS; his sister, Amanda Fabian Valadez (Enoe) of Russell, KS; his sister, Amber Frost of Lawrence, KS; his brothers Shane Michaelis and Ethan Frost (Justus), both of Russell, KS; his many beloved nieces and nephews: Braden, Gianna, Arya, Isabella, Briley, Haven, Zane, Nevaeh, Alieah, Matteo,&nbsp;Little Ethan, Ryker, Valencia, and Xavier; and by many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.&nbsp;

On March 29, 2023, Gayle (Abrams) Lewis died in Colby, Kansas, after a 
long fight with Lupus. Gayle was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to 
Colonel John and Harriet Abrams on January 16, 1951.&nbsp; She had one older 
brother, Stephen. &nbsp;The family moved to Fort Riley, Kansas in 1952.&nbsp; In 
1953, Colonel Abrams and family deployed to France where he was assigned 
to the Army hospital in LaRochelle and the family lived in the rural 
outskirts, in wine growing country. Upon retiring from the 
military, the family moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where the extended 
members of the family lived, ultimately buying a home in newly 
developing Prairie Village, Kansas, in 1955.&nbsp; Gayle attended elementary 
school, junior high school, and high school at Shawnee Mission East 
where she graduated in 1969.&nbsp; Gayle enrolled at the University of 
Kansas, beginning a lifetime love of all things Jayhawk, and began 
working as a bank teller in Lawrence, Kansas.&nbsp; Her parents retired to 
Scottsdale, Arizona, and Gayle followed, finding employment again in 
banking.&nbsp; Gayle enjoyed a close relationship with her parents until 
their deaths.&nbsp; She had begun to experience health problems and in 2007 
moved to Colorado to live with her brother Stephen and sister-in-law 
Sherry, in Bailey, Colorado. In 2015, the family moved to western
 Kansas to enjoy retirement.&nbsp; Gayle enjoyed the wildlife and the slower 
pace of life, as well as family visits of the Abrams sons and families.&nbsp;
 In 2022, her health further deteriorated.&nbsp; She spent several months in 
Citizens Medical Center in Colby, where she received loving daily care 
and attention. Gayle is preceded in death by her parents, John 
and Harriet Abrams, her grandparents, Bella and Joseph Yaffe, as well as
 all her aunts and uncles.&nbsp; She is survived by her brother, Stephen 
Abrams and sister-in-law Sherry of Colby, their son Aaron and his wife 
Nicole and nieces Katelynn, Lucy and Carly of Fallbrook, California; and
 their son Logan, his wife Laura, and their children Tate and Shelby, of
 Hughes Springs, Texas. Cremation was chosen.&nbsp; Gayle requested no

Lillie Mabel Norman, 95, passed away on March 31, 2023, at at Pinnacle Park Place in Salina, KS. Lillie was born on May 10, 1927 in Upton, WY to parents Myron Allen and Ina Florina Norris Price. She
 was a Ham Radio Operator and cleaned houses and worked in the cafeteria
 at Salina South Junior High and at Salina High School (Central). She 
loved kids and baby sitting for friends, church friends and anybody 
needing a sitter. She enjoyed going to the lake for family reunions on 
Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, camping and her four legged 
friends. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and United Methodist

Lillie Mabel Norman

Wayne A. Walker, 50, of Smith Center, left this life to see what his 
need for speed was on April 1st, 2023.  He was born October 20, 1972, to
 Patti and Dave Walker in Cozad, NE.

Wayne was a very outspoken 
man and I’m sure many will remember how his wild sense of humor could 
change the energy of an entire room.  He devoted his life to his family,
 friends and even to this community in more ways than you could imagine.
  He would be the first to give his shirt off his back to help anyone no
 matter who you were, no matter the time of day, he would be there.

Wayne
 had many hobbies starting from a very young age, from building motors 
on the table and the age of 8 in Colorado with his dad Dave, to climbing
 the mountains free style and having a band, he LOVED to play guitar. 
Believe it or not, he was self-taught, never knew how to read music and 
learned it all by ear.

He continued even more hobbies when he 
moved to Smith Center, from having the love of restoring old hot rods, 
to racing with one hell of a pit crew and the biggest fan club you could
 ever imagine, to even playing in another band with some amazing family 
and friends.

One way of devoting his life and showing his love to 
his family and friends was cooking.  I think you all may agree, he could
 have outcooked anyone! This was his way of bringing everyone together. 
His favorite holiday, that really brought us all together, was the 
Fourth of July. He loved blowing shit up.

Upon moving to Smith 
Center in 1993, Wayne began working at Mace Body Shop. Wayne has worked 
there for 31 years. Working at the body shop, brought many projects 
outside of his daily job, from coming up with the best custom paint jobs
 on cars and bikes, to building many racecars and painting them as well.
  He restored the Statue of Liberty that stands at Gaylord Hill many 
times.

He was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, 
friend, animal lover and even sometimes an aunt, due to his long hair.

Wayne
 is survived by his mother Patricia Walker of Smith Center, KS; life 
partner Billie Jo Stanton; daughter Catlyn Walker (Aaron Bergmann); son 
Orien Walker; his considered sons Robert Walker and Chase Brewer; 
sisters Cheri (Chris) Hrabe, Jody Walker, Loretta Walker, second parents
 Roger and Dianne Walker, god-father Steve Bortz; grandsons Breece and 
Beckett Bergmann; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wayne A. Walker

Norma Mae Hammeke, 91, passed away April 4, 2023, at her home in 
Great Bend, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 
16, 1931, to Arza and Marie (Pekarek) Lamoree. She married Maurice 
Hammeke on March 2, 1954, in Great Bend.

A longtime Great Bend resident, Norma was a customer service 
representative at Sears, specializing in maintenance service contracts. 
She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic 
Church, Barton County Historical Society and was the former Executive 
Director of the United Way of Central Kansas. Being passionate about 
music, she was a dedicated member of St. Patrick Choir for over 50 years
 and served on the Golden Belt Community Concert Association Board.&nbsp; 
Norma belonged to several bridge clubs and enjoyed fellowship with 
friends at the Senior Center and American Legion.

Survivors include, her husband Maurice Hammeke of Great Bend; her 
children, Marla Redburn and husband Dennis of Great Bend, Lynda Ford and
 husband Earl of Olathe, Vince Hammeke and wife Tina of Overland Park 
and JoElla Tobin and husband Bill of Lawrence; ten grandchildren, Dustin
 Sullivan, Trilby Haller (Rob), Colby Sullivan (Brandy), Lynzee 
Al-Hakeem (David), Taylor Ford, Cressa Felts (Justin), Jensyn Ford (Matt
 Gaborie), Andrew Hammeke (Taellor), Ryan Hammeke and Adam Hammeke 
(Kasey); 25 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren, with 
one more to arrive in August. She was preceded in death by her parents; a
 son, Ron Hammeke; a brother, Floyd E. Lamoree; and a sister, Irene 
Pack.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 
2023, with an Altar Society Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Parish Rosary at 
7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 6,

Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery.

Brian Christopher Thoman, formerly of Concordia, passed away at his 
home in Indianapolis, Indiana, on December 16, 2022. He was born on 
October 26, 1983, in Concordia to Gerald and Marilyn (Sorell) Thoman.

Brian
 attended Concordia Jr./Sr. High School, graduating with the class of 
2002. After graduating high school, Brian attended Cloud County 
Community College where he participated in yell leading and pep band. 

After college, Brian married Casey Hitchell and they relocated to Indiana, when they later divorced. 

Brian
 enjoyed meeting new people, attending concerts, and trying out new 
recipes. Brian spent the last two and a half years as a chef at Big 
Woods restaurant and distillery in Indianapolis.

Survivors include
 his daughter Morgan of Indianapolis; mother Marilyn Thoman of 
Concordia; brother Doug Thoman (Holly) of Belleville; sister Ashley 
Sheely (Andrew) of Schoenchen, KS; two nephews, two nieces; eight aunts,
 four uncles, and 22 cousins.

He is proceeded in death by his 
father Gerald Thoman, uncles Barry Thoman, Dale Revell, Jeff Thoman, and
 Gary Thoman; aunts Coleen Sorell, Kelly Thoman, and Rhonda Thoman; 
Grandparents, Jerome and Rita Sorell, and Wilfred (Tommy) and Margret 
(Jane) Thoman.

Brian C. Thoman

Charles W. Schaffer, 79, died April 2, 2023, with his family at his 
side, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born 
April 12, 1943, in Hays, Kansas, the seventh child of Vincent and Olinda
 (Obholz) Schaffer.&nbsp; He attended school in Schoenchen and later served 
in the Army National Guard.

On July 27, 1964, he married Ilene Schuckman in La Crosse, Kansas. 
She preceded him in death on August 7, 1971. He then married Karolyn M. 
Schaffer on December 2, 1972, in Olmitz, Kansas.

Charles was a farmer and had also worked as a rig mechanic for Red 
Tiger Drilling. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where 
he sang in the choir.&nbsp; Charles loved tinkering, especially welding and 
working on small engine repair. He loved a good card game and golfing, a
 game which he took up in retirement and thoroughly enjoyed, wishing he 
had started earlier in life.&nbsp; Thus leading to a membership in the La 
Crosse Country Club. He also enjoyed delivering friendship meals around 
the county for the past 10+ years. His family remembers his love of 
baking, where he was well known for his cinnamon rolls, angel food cake,
 and his “beerox."

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karolyn M. Schaffer of the 
home; and three children, Charnell Breshears and husband John of La 
Crosse, Kevin Schaffer and significant other Anita Shepard of Bison, 
Laurie Post and husband Kevin of Lincoln, Nebraska; four grandchildren, 
Josh Breshears, Jonna Skinner and husband Tim, Emma Post and Kayla Post;
 five great grandchildren, Preslie, Gabbie, and Josie Breshears and 
Desmond and Cooper Skinner; six siblings, Virginia Dreiling of Hays, 
Paul Schaffer, Joseph Schaffer, and Kenneth Schaffer all of California, 
Gladys Haugaard of Illinois, and Mary Ann Gariepy of Derby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ilene Schaffer, and brothers, Virgil, Jerry, Dennis, and Irvin Schaffer.

Charles W. Schaffer

Thomas Dean Pfeifer, age 70 of Pulaski, Virginia, died 
unexpectedly, Thursday, March 30, 2023, at his residence.&nbsp; 

He was born in
 Hays, Kansas, on June 20, 1952, and is the son of Lillian Hoffman 
Pfeifer and the late Alfred Lawrence Pfeifer.&nbsp; He worked and lived in 
the Radford, Virginia, area for the last 25 years of his life, and retired 
as an employee of Radford University in the Food Service Department.&nbsp; It
 is with a broken heart, that we announce the death of our brother and 
son.&nbsp; He is survived by his mother:&nbsp; Lillian Hoffman Pfeifer of Hays,&nbsp; Kansas, and his brother, Lawrence Frances Pfeifer of Hays, Kansas.&nbsp;

Per request of the family, he has been cremated, and there will be no

Thomas Dean Pfeifer, age 70 of Pulaski, Virginia, died 
unexpectedly, Thursday, March 30, 2023, at his residence.&nbsp; He was born in
 Hays, Kansas, on June 20, 1952, and is the son of Lillian Hoffman 
Pfeifer and the late Alfred Lawrence Pfeifer.&nbsp; He worked and lived in 
the Radford, Virginia, area for the last 25 years of his life, and retired 
as an employee of Radford University in the Food Service Department.&nbsp; It
 is with a broken heart, that we announce the death of our brother and 
son.&nbsp; He is survived by his mother:&nbsp; Lillian Hoffman Pfeifer of Hays,&nbsp; Kansas, and his brother, Lawrence Frances Pfeifer of Hays, Kansas.&nbsp;Per request of the family, he has been cremated, and there will be no

Thomas Dean Pfeifer

Berna June (Cox) Scott, 92, of Wallace, Kansas, passed away on April 
1, 2023, at the Wallace County Community Care Center in Sharon Springs, 
Kansas. Berna was born May 31, 1930, on the family farm southeast of 
Sharon Springs in Wallace County, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey and 
Esther (Ingold) Cox. She was the oldest of three children, followed by 
brothers Bud and Glenard.

Berna attended the Dover one-room country schoolhouse for grade 
school. She was a Wallace County Community High School student and 
graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1948. Berna received a Union 
Pacific Railroad scholarship and attended Kansas State University 
for&nbsp;her freshman year. She continued her education at Fort Hays State 
Kansas College, receiving her teaching certificate. During her time at 
Fort Hays State the major flood of Big Creek occurred in Hays in May 
1951.

On January 2, 1953, Berna married Virgil Allen Scott at the Sharon 
Springs United Methodist Church. After marriage, Berna and Allen moved 
to the farm south of Wallace where they raised their loving family. 
Berna and Allen were blessed with three children, Paula, Virgil and 
Lisa. Berna had a busy life. At its opening in 1951, Berna was one of 
the first two teachers at the new Harrison Flats two-teacher rural 
school. She was the kindergarten teacher at Sharon Springs elementary 
school in 1966-67, taught at Wallace Grade School and served as a 
substitute teacher for Harrison Flats, Wallace and Sharon Springs 
elementary schools for several years. A self-trained accountant, Berna 
was meticulous at keeping the books for the Scott farm operation for 
many, many years. She was also an avid gardener, tending to her 
beautiful flower and rose garden and growing a sizable vegetable garden 
every summer. Her perennial strawberry patch was large and very 
productive.

Faith, family, and the community were important to Berna. She loved 
her Lord and was a member of the Sharon Springs United Methodist Church.
 Berna was active in United Methodist Women, Martha’s Circle, Eastern 
Star, Rebekah Lodge, Dinas Community Club, Sunflower Extension 
Homemakers Unit, Dover Grange, and engaging her children in the many 
activities of 4-H. Berna and Allen loved to travel together and saw much
 of the country during their 68 years of marriage. Berna loved her 
family and was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Berna was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; daughter, Lisa 
Scott; great-grandson, Trevor Korbe; brother, Bud Cox; son-in-law Joe 
Korbe; daughter-in-law Trish Davies; and her parents. Berna is survived 
by her children, daughter Paula Korbe, Sharon Springs, Kansas; and son 
Virgil Scott and his wife Diane of Broomfield, Colorado; brother Glenard
 Cox, Salina, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Stroud, her husband 
Brad, Lenexa, Kansas; Travis Korbe, Wallace, Kansas; Chris Korbe, his 
wife Sarah, McPherson, Kansas; Andrew Korbe, his wife Hailey, Garden 
City, Kansas; Caiti Korbe, Sharon Springs, Kansas; Nicole Scott, 
Broomfield, Colorado; 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews 
and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 10:30 
a.m. at the Sharon Springs United Methodist Church in Sharon Springs 
with Pastor Galen Crippen officiating. Visitation will precede the 
funeral from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Church. Burial will follow 
the funeral in the Sharon Springs Cemetery. 

The family suggests 
memorials be contributed to Fort Hays State University Foundation and 
designated to the Allen &amp; Berna (Cox) Scott Family Scholarship Fund,
 which provides scholarships for Wallace County students, or the Wallace
 County Foundation, designated to the Allen &amp; Berna (Cox) Scott

Longtime Goodland, KS resident, Beverly Gwenelle Johnson, 67, passed 
away peacefully on Saturday, March 25th, 2023, at Goodland Regional 
Medical Center. She was in the company of her husband, Harold Johnson. 
 
Beverly was born in Fresno, California on May 28th, 1955, to Conroy and 
Barbara Lovins. She was the only sister of 3 bothers - Jerry, Carl, and 
Joseph. Beverly decided early on in life that she wanted to be a nurse. 
She attended college and obtained her CNA license early on in life. She 
then relocated to Kansas.

She soon met Chet, the father of her first son, Michael. She then 
soon met the love of her life, Harold Johnson. They united in marriage 
on June 15th, 1996. September of the same year, they had twins together,
 Sean and Heath Johnson. She continued her work as a CNA and was a busy 
mom, raising twins and working full time.

Beverly and Harold then decided to relocate to Goodland, KS — where 
she would spend the remainder of her life. Beverly quickly began working
 at Goodland Regional Medical Center, where she would retire, and was 
immediately loved and known for her excellence in her profession. The 
only thing she loved more than her work was her family.

Unfortunately, Bev then suffered a stroke and was forced into early 
retirement. She remained at home for the remainder of her life in the 
surroundings of her son Heath and husband Harold. After this stroke, she
 lived on 15 more great years and was able to meet her grandchildren - 
which she loved so much. Beverly then passed away in the afternoon of 
March 25th, 2023.

She is survived by her husband Harold, her 3 sons Michael (Jayne), 
Heath, and Sean (Shania), 4 grandchildren, and many other loved family 
and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Conroy and Barbara, her 
brother Carl, 2 grandchildren, and many other people she loved in her 
life.

at Hays Memorial Chapel in Hays, KS from 9-11 am on Wednesday, and 
immediately following there will be a procession to Our Lady Help of

Francis “Frank” J. Reichert Jr., 70, a Belton, MO resident, formerly
 of Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs, passed away peacefully at home, under
 hospice care, with his loving family by his side.&nbsp; Frank was born on 
December 4, 1952, to Francis Joseph and Martina (Haas) Reichert.

Frank was united in Marriage to Patricia “Patti” Joan Venable on May 
31, 1980, at their home in Blue Springs, Missouri. Frank graduated high 
school from St. Joseph Military Academy in Hays, Kansas. After high 
school, he went to Fort Hays State University where he graduated with 
his degree in accounting.&nbsp; He proudly served his country in the United 
States Army Reserves from 1971 to 1974. Following his time in the Army, 
Frank started working for the United States Government. He worked in 
several different agencies.&nbsp; He spent time with the United States 
Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Governments 
Resolution Trust Corporation and as a Bank Examiner for the FDIC, from 
where he retired.

Frank was devoted to both his Lord and his family. He was a member of
 St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. 
Frank was also a devoted fan and season ticket holder of both the Kansas
 City Royals and the University of Kansas Jayhawks.

Frank is survived by his wife, Patti; his son, Josh and his wife 
Cassie of Blue Springs, MO; his three daughters, Kalee Lundmark and her 
husband Luke of Hays, KS, Tiffany White and her husband Taylor of 
Raymore, MO and Kristen Reichert of Kansas City, MO. &nbsp;His siblings; 
Alvera Reichert of Wabash, IN, Barbara Robinson of Verona, WI, Paulette 
Reichert of Hays, KS, Norma Pipkin of Hays, KS, Larry Reichert of Hays, 
KS and Tom Reichert and his wife Linda of Hays, KS. Frank is also 
survived by ten grandchildren; Jakob, Noah, Hannah, Abby, Ethan, Ella, 
Leah, Mattie, Finn and Emme.&nbsp;
