DeWayne R. Herrs, 82, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.&nbsp; 

DeWayne was a retired barber, former owner of Headquarters Hair Care in McPherson.

DeWayne was born on October 27, 1940, in Linn, Kansas, the son of Marvin and Clara (Ohlde) Herrs.&nbsp; 

He graduated from Linn High School in 1958 and from Wichita Barber School.&nbsp; 

On May 9, 1970, DeWayne was united in marriage to Roberta “Bertie” R. Gutsch in McPherson.&nbsp; This union was blessed with three children, Ryan, Timothy and Elizabeth.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Master Gardeners &amp; Friends.&nbsp; He was also a board member of Disability Supports and former McPherson High School Booster Club president.&nbsp;

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Roberta “Bertie” of the home; three children, Ryan Herrs (Kelly Lyman) of Wichita, KS, Timothy Herrs of Derby, KS, and Elizabeth Herrs of McPherson, KS; brother Rodney Herrs (Karen) of Tonganoxie, KS; two grandchildren, Jacob Herrs and Benjamin Herrs; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rebecca Meyer (Craig) of Liberty, MO, Robin Chapman (Kenny) of Gallatin, TN, and Rita Martin (Tod) of Casper, WY; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Clara Herrs; siblings Harvey Herrs, Ralph Herrs, and Steve Herrs; parents-in-law Robert &amp; Rosie Gutsch; and sisters-in-law LaDean Herrs and Eunice Herrs.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 26, at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale Dumperth officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.

Ana Maria Navarro, 66, passed away surrounded by loved ones at her home in Great Bend, Kan. She was born on March 20, 1957, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Roberto Navarro and Maria Jasso.

A resident of Great Bend since 2000, she spent her working years as a housekeeper. She loved collecting things from garage sales and taking care of her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.&nbsp;

Survivors include three sons, Roberto C. Ferrel of Mexico, Omar A. (Celsa) Ferrel of Lyons, Kan., and Emmanuel (Kiana) Ferrel of Great Bend, Kan.; five grandchildren, Brandon, Nicole, Beyonce, Madelyn and Benjamin Ferrel; three brothers, Jorge (Patricia) Navarro, Roberto (Cecilia) Navarro, and Octavio (Teresa) Navarro; and a sister, Bertha (Ruben) Leticia. 

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.

Richard Steve Wallace, age 75, passed away May 18, 2023, at Locust Grove Village Nursing Home, La Crosse, Kansas.

He was born November 22, 1947, in Russell, Kansas to Richard T. and Edria Mae (Giles) Wallace, and married Jeanette K. (Reeh).

Richard was an over-the-road truck driver for 50 years. 

He grew up in Waldo, Kansas and was a graduate of Paradise High School. He lived in Luray, Victoria, and moved to Hays in 2020.

Survivors include his wife Jeanette Wallace of the home; his children Alicia Wiseman and husband Earl, Luray, KS; Nicole Deiser, Hays, KS; Julie Martin and husband Vince, Lincoln, KS; Kevin Strong; his grandchildren Ryan Locke, Alex Locke, Kelton Wallace, Lakyn Wallace, Jace Spiess, Matthew Wiseman, his great-grandchildren, Isabella Locke and Gemma Locke.

His body was donated to KU Medical Center, and a Celebration of Life service will be held at the Waldo Cemetery at a later date.

Dr. Gary K. Crnic, DDS, 77, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Collins House – Meadowlark Hills in Manhattan, Kansas.

Gary was born December 3, 1945 in Richmond Heights, Missouri.&nbsp; He was the son of Fred J. and Edith (King) Crnic.&nbsp; He grew up mainly in Sedalia, Missouri and graduated from Sacred Heart High School.&nbsp; 

After high school he attended Central Missouri State College and studied chemistry. &nbsp;Following graduation from CMSC he was accepted to the University of Missouri, Kansas City Dental School and graduated with a doctorate in dental surgery.

Gary served his country as a dentist in the U.S. Army for two years and then served five years in the Army Reserves while in private practice.

Gary was united in marriage to Sandra Lee Banaka on June 6, 1970 in Sedalia.&nbsp; This union was blessed with two daughters, Tarrie and Tracy.&nbsp; They made their homes in Kansas City, Missouri; El Paso, Texas; Houston, Texas; Jefferson City, Missouri; Sedalia, Missouri; Monett, Missouri; and moved to Russell in 1992.

Gary was a dentist in Russell from 1992 until his retirement in 2016.&nbsp; He enjoyed all types of sports, but especially playing golf. The one thing that lit up his days was to get his friends and loved ones to laugh and smile.

Gary’s surviving family include his wife of 52 years, Sandra, of the home; daughters Tarrie Grosdidier (Paul) of Wamego, Kansas and Tracy Crnic of Miami, Florida.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister Gail Perkins.

Celebration of the Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church of Russell.&nbsp; A private burial of ashes will follow at a later date.&nbsp; Vigil and Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023 at St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church.&nbsp; Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary.&nbsp;

James Franklin Moore, 78, of Norton, KS passed away May 11, 2023 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1944 in Almena, KS to Merlin and Atrice (Brewster) Moore.

James grew up in Almena and was a 1962 graduate of Almena Rural High School. 

He entered the United States Air Force at 19 years and served for 38 years. He wanted to see the world, so he put in for overseas duty. During those tours he enjoyed learning about the different cultures and people. Jim served in many locations around the world, from Texas and California to Japan and the Netherlands. He was also highly decorated, and he retired with honors and the rank of Master Sergeant (MSGT) on October 1, 1986 at the Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, WA. 

Jim married Donna Rose Lagestee in Spokane. 

He enjoyed doing research on Vietnam veterans and having coffee with his friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister Judy Harmon. 

He is survived by his wife Donna of the home; son Michael James Biros (Moore) and wife Shellie Werich of Hollinger, NE; stepson Rick Schmidt of Idaho; stepdaughter Kimberly Schmidt of Idaho; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews Barbara Beard of Tainan, Taiwan, Loria Harmon of Hays, KS, Joe Harmon of Memphis, TN, Kellie Harmon of Lawrence, KS and Shelley Weilert of Lawrence, KS.

Waunita Lila Stoney, 66, passed away on May 18, 2023 in Oberlin, KS. She was born on July 1, 1956 to Walter and Lillian (Lemon) Mosier in Oberlin, KS.

Waunita grew up in Oberlin and graduated from DCHS in 1974. 

After high school she married Jerry Stoney in Oberlin, KS on April 24, 1976. Together they had two sons, Jerred and Jeremy. 

After high school she went to nursing school to be a CNA and nurse’s aide to work at Cedar Living Center.

 Waunita had a huge heart and would always offer help to anyone who needed it. She loved to travel to see her sisters, nephews, and nieces. But most of all she loved to spend time with her sons and grandsons.

Waunita was survived by her sons Jeremey Stoney of Cassville, MO and Jerred (Angie) Stoney of Great Bend, KS; grandsons Colton Stoney, Logan Stoney, Javen Stoney, Jamison Stoney, and Jordan Winter; sisters Fern Mosier of Oberlin, KS, and Pat (Dallas) Gustis of Geneseo, KS; Lance Bowlby of Lincoln, KS and Samantha (Jason) Stagner of Inman, KS. She is also survived by extended family and friends. 

She was preceded by her parents and husband Jerry Stoney.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Gary Wayne Vestal, 75, of Leoti, KS, passed away on May 12, 2023, at his residence. Gary was born on September 29, 1947 to Benjamin “Bob” Vestal and Bertha Walker Vestal in Russell Springs, KS. Gary joined the U.S. Army in 1964 and served in the Vietnam War.&nbsp;&nbsp;After leaving the Army he returned to Oakley.&nbsp;&nbsp;He eventually made his way to Leoti where he has lived for over forty years. Gary learned carpentry from his father and carried the trade with him throughout his years of service in Vietnam, as a farm hand, a general laborer, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.&nbsp;&nbsp;He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Gary was a simple hometown person. He loved fishing whenever he could get away. He didn’t really like to clean them, just loved the peacefulness of it. He was well loved and respected by those who knew him. He was always willing to lend a hand if a project needed done. If you wanted to know how to do something, he probably could tell you. He didn’t always tell stories, but when he did you listened because it was either interesting or hilarious. “My dad told me I had the same pants to get glad in that I got mad in, so I took them off and burned them!” He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all of those who knew him. He is survived by his wife Martha Vestal of Leoti, his eight children:&nbsp; Maxine Vestal-Lareau and Bradley of Bedford, TX, Manuel and Anita Vestal of Elmira Heights, NY, Michael Thompson of Leoti, Terrie and Joe Wilcox of Tribune, Mary and Jose Cortez of Leoti, Rosa Vestal of Leoti, Violet Vestal of Leoti, and Peggy Castillo of Garden City; two stepchildren:&nbsp; Bernabe and Tracy Montoya of Leoti and San Juanita M. and Lorenzo Salazar of Leoti; and two sisters: Verlene Showalter of New Orleans, LA, Patricia Bell of Ladson, SC.&nbsp;&nbsp;He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 16 stepgreat-grandchildren. Dorothy I. “Dottie” Kraus, age 97, formerly of Hays, died Saturday, May 20, 2023, in Omaha, Nebraska.

She was born August 14, 1925 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Herman Sr. and Grace (Reinecke) Harris. &nbsp;

She graduated valedictorian from Kinsley High School, Kinsley, Kansas in 1943 and Fort Hays State University with a BS degree in home economics in 1947. &nbsp;

She married Kenneth Kraus on June 1, 1947 in Hays, Kansas.

Dottie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hays and served on many committees in the church through the years. 

She was a lifetime member of Fort Hays State University Alumni Association, Fort Hays Half Century Club, Chapter #228 Eastern Star, a lifetime member of the national sorority Sigma Sigma Sigma for over 27 years, lifetime member of the Hays Medical Center auxiliary, and in 1983, she and her husband were awarded the Kansas Master Farmer/Homemaker for Ellis County.&nbsp; 

In addition to her many service and volunteer activities she was a dedicated and devoted help to her husband Ken.&nbsp; While maintaining the family home she ran numerous farming errands, did chores around the farm, and kept all the books so necessary for a dairy business.&nbsp; In spite of being a busy farmer’s wife, she and Ken made time to attend many basketball and football games at Fort Hays and were very supportive fans of the Tigers! Her most favorite activities, however, were with family, traveling, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Also, Dottie always expressed how proud she was to be married to such a wonderful husband, Ken, and having celebrated nearly 74 years of marriage.

Survivors include her daughter Pam (Gordon) Henrickson of Omaha, NE, son Steve (Pattie) Kraus of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren Aaron (Ruthie) Henrickson and Emily Kraus, great-grandchild Nate Jarrow, two cousins, Max and Dennis Reinecke, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ken, her parents, and two brothers, Vern and Herman Harris Jr.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Fort Hays Memorial Gardens with Rev. Delbert Stanton officiating.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 on Wednesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.&nbsp;

Gary Chris Madsen, 75, of Colby passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, KS. Gary was born February 5, 1948, in Colby, KS and was adopted by Christopher C. and Marie W. (Woerpel) Madsen, also in 1948. Gary was blessed with a bonus family, Ralph E. and Mary J. Mead (Mom and Dad) and their sons Roy, Bill and Chris, of Colby, KS. He graduated from Colby High School in 1966 and married Regina K. Bussen, of Wallace, KS, in 1968. Gary and Regina had two children, Bryan Chris and Pamela Kay. Later in life, Gary met his soulmate, Janice (McDowall) Madsen. They resided in Lane, KS for several years, before moving back to Colby in 2019. They married on December 1, 2000, in Paola, KS and he was blessed again with a bonus daughter, Meagan McKenzie. Gary was drafted into service in the U.S. Army in 1968 and completed basic training at Ft. Sill, OK.

After service, Gary worked as a plumber and HVAC technician in Colby for several years before moving to Paola, KS and finishing his career as a facilities manager. Throughout his life, Gary was an avid outdoorsman and knife collector, and he passed his love (and skills) for camping, hunting and fishing on to his children and many grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Chris and Marie; bonus parents Ralph and Mary; brother Daniel and grandson Jacob Madsen (Bryan and Briana). He is survived by his wife Janice of Colby; children Bryan (Briana) Madsen of Olathe, KS, Pam (Richard) Thompson of Claflin, KS and Meagan (Michael Harper) of Cambria, IL; stepdaughters Shannon (Derek) Reilley of Colby and Heather (Steve) Faber of Ashkum, IL; and bonus brothers Roy, Bill and Chris Mead. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, Cody, Cayley, Colby, Carlie and Dezaray (Bryan and Briana); Riley and Cale (Pam and Richard); Troy, Jess, Courtney, Landon and Aden (Shannon and Derek); Steven, Anderson and Francis (Heather and Steve); Chase, Alyssa, Declan and Elnora (Meagan and Michael); great-grandchildren include Kash (Troy and Sandra); Paisely and Adley (Jess and Mauricio); Charlie (Courtney and Nate); and Avery (Alyssa). Marvel L. (Leidig) Boston, 85, of Washington, passed away May 14th.

Marvel (Leidig) Boston was born on February 12th, 1938 to Cecil and Dorthy (Finch) Leidig.&nbsp; Marvel was the second oldest of nine children.&nbsp; 

From an early age, Marvel’s personality shone through as she provided care for her siblings.&nbsp; Young children always were special in her eyes.&nbsp; 

Marvel met her future husband Robert Boston while rollerskating and they were married on November 20th, 1955.&nbsp; To this union were born Debbie, Kim, and Tammie.

Marvel dedicated her life to her family and friends.&nbsp; In addition to raising her three children, she was record keeper for the family.&nbsp; The farm's financials and calendar, the weather, the growing generations, she kept track of the flow of the family.&nbsp; Marvel never just stood by.&nbsp; Some farm tasks just require two sets of hands and Marvel was always there to work the fields, put up hay, repair equipment or go for parts and supplies as long as she could be home by the time the kids got off the bus. No matter the task at hand, she was always there to support her husband, encourage her children and mentor her grandchildren.&nbsp; 

Whether it was planting, harvesting, working cattle, making furniture, cooking, crafting, vacationing, hunting or dancing, Marvel was intensely interested and engaged with her life.&nbsp; Marvel served others first. &nbsp; She would be the first up to set the table for others and the last to eat herself.&nbsp; Marvel lived a life of love, loyalty, and exploration with a passion that can only be described as fierce.

Marvel (Leidig) Boston passed from this life on May 14th, 2023 at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community in Manhattan, KS at the age of 85 years.&nbsp; Marvel was proceeded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Boston; son Kim Boston; and daughter Tammie Fournier; brother Lonnie Leidig; sisters Joyal Crain, Celia Schmidt and Linda Leidig; brothers-in-law Ernie Scheetz and Robert (Bill) Shorman.

&nbsp;She is survived by her sisters Zetta Scheetz, Carol Shorman, and Wilma (Maceo)&nbsp; Leatherwood; brother Jerry (Susan (Sue)) Leidig; daughter Debbie (David(Dave)) Nutsch; daughter-in-law Georgia Boston; son-in-law Kirk Fournier; sister-in-law Peggy Leidig; brother-in-law Richard Schmidt; seven grandchildren;&nbsp; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at the Morrowville Christian Church burial will follow at the Washington City Cemetery.

Strengthened by the sacraments of the Church, Francis Mathew Soukup was called home by his Heavenly Father on May 22, 2023 after defying many odds in his battle against cancer.

Frank was born October 21, 1953 to Raymond and Clare Soukup in the Ellsworth Hospital. 

He was joined in holy matrimony to Jeanette Marie Korf on August 2, 1975. They raised four children: Matthew (Chrissie) of St. Louis, Missouri, Laura (John) Schlessiger of Claflin, Kansas, Daniel (Delena) of Overland Park, Kansas, and Br. Karel, OSB, of Atchison, Kan.&nbsp;

Always intimately involved in the formation and education of his children, Frank was troop leader of the St. Rose Boy Scouts in Great Bend from 1983–1990 and taught catechism at St. Anthony’s Parish in Lakin, Kan. He was a true disciple of Jesus, demonstrating his faith by his many selfless acts of love for his family and community. He never missed a game, concert or event of any kind.&nbsp;

Francis earned a bachelor of science degree from Fort Hays State University in 1990 and afterward dedicated his life to public service as city administrator of Lakin, Kansas from 1991–2006, city manager of Kingman, Kansas from 2006–2014, and business manager for the Ellsworth Correctional Facility from 2014 until his retirement in 2021. He was a member of the board of directors of the Kansas Power Pool and served a term as its president. 

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club and Rotary.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, his children and twelve grandchildren, as well as siblings Louise (Leo), Steve (Janie), Jim (Caroline), Pat (Dio) and Fred, and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tom (Carla) and Mike (Karan), sister Joni, and grandchildren Max, Ian, Jay and Molly.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from noon to 5:00 p.m., with family receiving guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and vigil with Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:00 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, Kan.&nbsp;

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Claflin, Kan. Interment will follow at Claflin Cemetery.&nbsp;

Ronald Haselhorst, 68, of Palatine, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 2, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL, after a long fight with Parkinson's disease, further complicated by recent surgery. 

Born May 10, 1954, in Hays, KS, he was one of six children born to Merlin and Theresa Haselhorst. 

Ron studied English and business at Fort Hays State University and Kansas State University. 

In 1979, he married Christel Thyfault of Damar, KS. 

Ron built a successful career in the medical device field, specializing in quality and regulatory affairs, which took him and his family from Kansas to Mississippi, finally settling in Illinois. 

Ron was widowed in 2002 and remarried in 2016 to Jeanne "Jojo" Hennick of Palatine, IL. Whether you knew him as Dad, Ron, or Ronnie Refund, it is certain he touched your life in some way! He was a devoted husband, father, and friend.

Ron enjoyed everything about music: writing, playing, and attending concerts. In his free time, you could find Ron telling great stories, cooking, reading, discussing politics, and attending workout classes at the NeuroBalance Center. Ron will forever be remembered for loyalty, musical taste, and quick wit. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Jeanne Haselhorst.; daughters Rachel Haselhorst of Chicago; Tara Ruff and her husband Lucas, of Sycamore, and stepdaughter Kate Hennick of South Korea; his sisters and brothers Karen Shotwell, Mark Haselhorst, Janet Schmidt, Lori Conway, and Jon Haselhorst.

Leslie E. Davis, age 71, passed away at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas on May 20, 2023. He was born on July 13, 1951, to Jesse Vernon and Phyllis Irene Stegman Davis in Ransom, Kansas. 

He was a member of the Scott City community since 1971, having moved from Brownell, Kansas. He was the owner and operator of Ag-Air Conditioning Service in Scott City, Kansas.&nbsp;

On May 26, 1972, Leslie married Mary Ann Roths in Ransom, Kansas. She survives.

Survivors include his wife, son Daniel &amp; Kristina Davis of Fort Wayne, Indiana, brothers Leonard and Kathy Davis of Clearwater, Kansas, Norman Green, Jr. of York, Nebraska, brother-in-law Alan and Cindy Roths of Ransom, Kansas, sisters-in-law Diane and David Reddig of Manhattan, Kansas,&nbsp; Carol Walker of Ransom, Kansas, and grandchildren Andrew and Alexander.&nbsp;

Davis, age 71, passed away at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas on May 20, 2023. He was born on July 13, 1951, to Jesse Vernon and Phyllis Irene Stegman Davis in Ransom, Kansas. He was a member of the Scott City community since 1971, having moved from Brownell, Kansas. He was the owner and operator of Ag-Air Conditioning Service in Scott City, Kansas.&nbsp;On May 26, 1972, Leslie married Mary Ann Roths in Ransom, Kansas. She survives.Survivors include his wife, son Daniel &amp; Kristina Davis of Fort Wayne, Indiana, brothers Leonard and Kathy Davis of Clearwater, Kansas, Norman Green, Jr. of York, Nebraska, brother-in-law Alan and Cindy Roths of Ransom, Kansas, sisters-in-law Diane and David Reddig of Manhattan, Kansas,&nbsp; Carol Walker of Ransom, Kansas, and grandchildren Andrew and Alexander.&nbsp;He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Randall and Richard, and brothers-in-law Thomas Roths and James Walker.Graveside services will be scheduled at a later date for the Vansburgh Cemetery in Brownell, Kansas.Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, P.O. Gary Wayne Allaman was born September 6, 1967, in Goodland, Kansas to John (Jack) and Mary Allaman. Gary passed away at Scott County Hospital on May 17, 2023.

Gary was raised in Wallace County with his older brother Larry and younger brother Brian. The boys were raised by loving parents on the farm in Wallace County. 

Gary graduated high school in Sharon Springs, the class of 1985. 

After graduation, Gary moved to Scott City where he has resided for the past 38 years. Gary worked for the City of Scott City for two years and then for Fairleigh Feed Yard since 1997.&nbsp;

Gary's oldest daughter, Shantel was born in 2005, and his youngest son, Brayden was born in 2006. Both were born in Scott City, Kansas where they still reside. Shantel just finished, her junior year, and Brayden just finished his sophomore year at Scott City High School.&nbsp;

Shantel gave Gary a grandson, Cole Ryder Venegas on August 25, 2020. Gary's children and grandson were the light of his life. He was very proud of both of his children, and his eyes and smile lit up whenever he was with Cole. Gary loved being a papa to Cole.&nbsp;

Gary enjoyed long motorcycle rides, as well as taking his family to the races, and fishing trips. It was time they spent together that will never be forgotten. Gary was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The time he spent with family and friends will be cherished forever.

Surviving relatives include daughter Shantel Allaman of Scott City, Kansas, son Brayden Allaman of Scott City, Kansas, grandson Cole Venegas of Scott City, Kansas, brothers&nbsp; Larry Allaman of Atwood, Kansas, Brian and Linda Allaman of Sharon Springs, Kansas, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, three nieces, one nephew and many friends.

Gary is proceeded in death by his father, mother, paternal grandparents, and maternal grandparents.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas with Don Williams presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be written to the Gary Allaman Memorial Fund in care of Price &amp; Sons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 553, Scott City, Kansas.

Inurnment will be held at 2:00 p.m. MST (3:00 p.m. CST) on Monday, May 22, 2023, in the Fort Wallace Cemetery in Wallace, Kansas.

Becky J. Ellis, age 84, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson, Kansas. She was born April 9, 1939, in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Alma (Patee) Clark. Becky grew up in Garden City and graduated from Garden City High School.

She married Wesley L. Ellis on June 13, 1957, in Garden City. After they were married, they lived in Garden City, Kalvesta, Lane County, Morton County, and then settled in Stanton County in 1965 where they began farming.

 Becky was a farm wife for 20 years before she went to work at Russ’ Jack and Jill and then as an optometrist technician for Hopkins &amp; Hopkins in Ulysses and Syracuse. 

Becky was very active with her grandkids and enjoyed watching all her family participate in all their activities including motocross and ballgames. She also loved to go to the casinos, dancing, and swimming, where she served as a lifeguard. Becky is survived by her three sons, Jim Ellis and wife Pam of Pratt, Steve Ellis and wife Karen of Ulysses, and Scott Ellis and wife Lori of Rolla; brother Bob Clark of Ozark, Missouri; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Becky is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Alma Clark; husband Wes in 2019; brothers Bill, Jim and Ken Clark; and sister Donna Mader. Rosary will be Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Charles Seiwert officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson. Visitation is Monday, May 22, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
