Kenneth (Ken) Roger Allison died peacefully in Mansfield, TX on September 23, 2023, at the age of 83. He was surrounded by his daughters. 

Ken is survived by his children Leasa Berg (Blair), Kevin Allison, Kimberly Berg (Delbert), Melissa Fuchs (Perry), Lisa Purcell and Michelle Schmidt (Mark) and sisters Carolyn Richardson and Nancy Pizano. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Horton and Myrtle Allison, beloved wife Mary Allison, brothers Larry and Loren Allison, sister Lois Bryant, and sons Gary and Mark Purcell.

Ken was born on November 18, 1939, in Manhattan, KS. He married his first wife, Luella (Linn) Farris, in 1960 and they lived in Kinsley, Kansas. During this time, they had four children: Leasa, Kevin, Kimberly and Melissa. Ken married his second wife, Mary Holliday, in 1973 where he lovingly added four children: Mark, Gary, Lisa and Michelle. Altogether, Ken was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Ken loved all his children unequivocally and enjoyed nothing more than when they would visit. He enjoyed spending countless hours on facetime where he always took joy in hearing about what was going on in everyone’s lives.

Ken was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather. He received an infinite amount of joy when he was surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which was apparent in his beautiful smile. He experienced great delight in watching his grandchildren drive the go-cart, showing them the art of woodworking in his shed, and giving (and receiving) his well-known and much anticipated “Grandpa Allison” hugs.

Much of Ken’s life was spent in Kansas, during which time he was a member of the National Guard and a member of the Masons. He worked numerous jobs throughout his life, retiring from the Kansas State penitentiary after 20 years of service. Ken and Mary loved to travel to visit family, they also loved fishing together. 

Following the passing of his wife Mary, Ken moved to Texas in 2013 to be closer to his daughter, Melissa Fuchs. These last ten years afforded Ken the opportunity to build a new connection with Linn and their four children, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. During this time Ken always loved to sit around, enjoy a piece of chocolate, reminisce about his life in Kansas and tell some exciting stories of his time growing up.

Ken will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Mary Allison, in Oberlin, KS. The funeral is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, KS. Lunch will be served after the funeral for the family. All are welcome to attend the ceremony and celebrate Ken’s life.

Kenneth Roger 'Ken' Allison

Richard Michael Zerr, of Grainfield, Kansas passed away on September 14, 2023, at the Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas, at the age of 70. He was born on May 9, 1953, to Balcer and Julia (Heier) Zerr in Quinter, Kansas. 

He married Jill (Tucker) they later divorced.

He graduated from Wheatland High School in 1971.

 He was an avid hunter. He enjoyed hunting coyotes, pheasants and deer. He was a farmer and rancher and spent many hours with his cattle. He retired from Gove County Road Department. Richard also enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews play sports.

Richard is survived by his siblings, Lorena (Edward) Ludolph, of Oakley, KS, Ron (Debra McNeill) Zerr, of Wichita, KS, Connie Fahrenz, of Denton, TX, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Zerr, of Dodge City, KS, Rex Zerr, of Parachute, CO; stepdaughter, Dayna (Jonathan) Alexander, of Bird City, KS; stepson, Kyle Shaw, of Grainfield, KS; stepgreat-granddaugher, Brooklyn Alexande; nieces and nephews, Shawn Ludolph, Julie Whitcraft, Kimberly Gentry, Jared Zerr, Amber Zerr, Stacy Gile, Curtis Gile and Corey Zerr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Randy Zerr.

A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Grainfield, KS. He will be buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Park, KS.

Richard Michael Zerr

Elizabeth Ilene Pochop (Chleborad), Atwood

&nbsp;September 7, 1927 - September 21, 2023

Elizabeth (Chleborad) Pochop, 96, of Atwood, died Thursday, September 21, 2023. She was born September 7, 1927, to Henry and Mary (Horinek) Chleborad on a farm south of Atwood, KS. 

She attended a country school and later graduated from Atwood High School and then Marymount School of Nursing in Salina, KS and did some of her clinicals in Manhattan, KS. 

Following graduation, she worked for a time in Denver and then returned to Atwood and worked for Dr. Gertsen. She would often take on private duty assignments, later working at the Rawlins County Hospital and then the Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

On April 11, 1951, she married Frank Pochop and to this union were born six children: Cynthia, Anthony, Gerard, Rebecca (Becky), Kevin and Michael. 

She loved to garden, sew and bake. Spring and summer months were spent preparing the garden, making jams, jellies and preserving garden produce. In her later years when getting down on her knees to garden was difficult and then impossible, she would say, “I would feel so much better if I could get down and scratch in the dirt.”

 May meant the end of school and it also meant butchering and cleaning the young chickens. They raised enough chickens so that her parents could also have chickens to fry later in the year; her mother, Mary, would often come out to help. It took several days to prepare 250+ chickens for the freezer. A few were saved back to provide fresh eggs, but they also eventually met the same fate as the other chickens. 

Milk cows were also part of the farm scene and as the children got older, they took over the milking chores. There was enough milk for the family’s use and cream to fill the milk cans, which we called cream cans. This was taken to the Beardsley Depot and later to Trenton, NE; money from the sale of the cream was the grocery money. Often a gallon of milk or pint of cream was taken to elderly relatives and friends in Atwood. 

During the wheat harvest she would prepare meals and take them out to the field for the men, so they did not have to take time to come in for lunch—usually fried chicken, potatoes, beans and cream puffs for dessert.

The kitchen and house were often filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread (seven loaves at a time), kolaches, cinnamon rolls, rollicks, cakes and cookies. During the holidays, fudge, peanut brittle and other candies were made. Fruit was purchased by the lug and canned. Somehow, they all survived the heat from the canning process without air conditioning. 

Elizabeth learned the basics of sewing from her mother but also took classes through the local Extension Office and learned to make suits for the men in her life and double-knit shirts with ribbed neckline. Both of her daughters were blessed to have their wedding dresses made by their mother. 

She was a self-taught cake decorator spending hours reading cake decorating books and practicing techniques. Birthday cakes and anniversary cakes were made for family and wedding cakes were made by her for area brides as well as for her own children. Elizabeth saved the scraps from her sewing projects, and these were used to make quilts. Even as her vision declined, she was determined to sew and did a pretty good job with help from a magnifier and ruler as a guide.

Elizabeth treasured visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. These were special moments for her. 

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; sister Vivian Feagan and husband Bob; sister Viola Janousek and husband Jerome; her husband Frank and son-in-law Bob Helmick. 

Those left to treasure her memory are children, Cynthia (Bob) Helmick, Anthony (Annette), Gerard (Anita), Becky (Mike) Lundquist, Kevin, Michael (Deb); 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one due in December. She is also survived by sisters, Mary Yvonne Bowski and Rose George and brother Clarence (Valerie) Chleborad.

Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m., with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2023, at St. John’s Catholic Church, rural Atwood. The funeral mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at St. John’s Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. It was Elizabeth’s request that there be no flowers for her funeral (she said that she could not smell them).

Elizabeth Ilene Pochop (Chleborad)

Michael A. Sander, age 62, of Hays, Kansas passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Downs Care and Rehab Center in Downs, Kansas.

&nbsp;He was born on December 22, 1960, in Hays, Kansas, to proud parents Mike Ulrich and Georgina (Wasinger) Sander. Michael's journey through life was marked by dedication, passion, and a warm-hearted spirit that touched the lives of many.

A 1980 graduate of Hays High School, Michael embarked on a fulfilling career as a butcher, dedicating over 30 years of his life to Tom Thumb Grocery in Dallas, Texas. His commitment to his work was evident in the quality he delivered to countless customers throughout his career.

Beyond his profession, Michael was an enthusiastic sports fan, with a deep-seated love for the Dallas Cowboys and their cheerleaders. He was also a devoted follower of NASCAR, particularly cheering for the legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr. His appreciation for sports extended to collecting memorabilia, a cherished hobby that allowed him to preserve the moments and memories that meant the most to him.

Michael's outgoing personality and love for conversation made him a delightful presence to be around. He relished in the opportunity to connect with others, whether through discussing his beloved sports or sharing stories and laughter. His warm and welcoming demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Michael is survived by his two brothers, Marvin Sander and Larry (Rhonda) Sander of Hays; two sisters, Darlene (Bill) Johnson of Bertha, Colorado, and Debra Kuhn of Hays; as well as a brother-in-law, Francis Fisher of Hays and his fur buddy, Marley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Linda Fisher and Norma (Bill) Thompson, brother Melvin Francis Sander, brother-in-law Rick Kuhn; and a sister-in-law, Donna Sander.

A funeral service to honor Michael's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hays.

Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel, located at 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be designated at a later date and made payable to Larry Sander.

James Emory Ryabik passed away on August 17, 2023 surrounded by his family in Des Moines, IA.&nbsp; Born on September 2, 1934 in Warren, OH, James was married to his wife Doreen until her death in 2011.

 In addition to being a loving father, husband and Army veteran, James was an accomplished psychologist. He earned his B.A. in psychology at Youngstown University in 1961, his M.S. in psychology at Fort Hays State University in 1963 and his Ed.D. from the University of Northern Colorado in 1976. 

While in Hays, KS, he was instrumental in starting the High Plains Mental Health Clinic.&nbsp; 

James then worked in several public and private posts in Topeka and Kansas City including the Menninger Foundation.&nbsp; He is a widely published researcher as well as an accomplished jazz bassist.&nbsp;

James was passionate about his pets that included dogs, cats and large birds. 

He is survived by his son, Brett Ryabik of Atlanta, GA, his daughter, Gwyndolyn McMillin (Michael) of Des Moines, IA as well as his grandsons Connor and Jacob McMillin.&nbsp; He will be sorely missed by his friends and family. &nbsp;

BRIGHTON, Colo. — Patricia (Pat) Louise Graf, 82, died suddenly at Ridgeview Post Acute Center on September 14, 2023. She was diagnosed with dementia in 2013. Pat was born August 16, 1941 in Quinter, Kansas, the daughter of Balthazor (Bill) and Angela (VonLintel) Richmeier.&nbsp;

Pat was homeschooled prior to the 4th grade due to being bedridden with rheumatic fever. She graduated from Great Bend (KS) High School, class of 1960. 

After graduation she moved to the Denver, Colorado area where she worked for Russell Stover Candies Co.&nbsp; 

She returned to Kansas and married Arsenius Graf in July 1964. Together they had one son, Patrick. 

Pat retired after over 20 years of service from the Brighton School District 27J as head custodian of Henderson Elementary in Colorado.&nbsp; After retirement she worked part-time at Costco as a food sample distributor. 

She and her husband loved to travel and do artistic projects together. Pat was a member of VFW and Elks Lodge in Brighton, CO along with St. Augustine Church in Brighton and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Northglenn, CO. Pat was also a member of TOPS before her illness.

Pat was a very talented artist and had four of her watercolor scenes auctioned off at the Alzheimer’s Foundation fundraiser. In addition to painting, she spent much of her spare time building and furnishing miniature doll houses.

&nbsp;She was predeceased by her husband Arsenius, son Patrick, parents Bill and Angela Richmeier, brothers&nbsp; R. Valerian, Francis (Frank), Gerald, and William, her sisters Agnes Geist, Margaret (Marge) Mealer, and Rosalie Urban.&nbsp; 

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Sarah Graf, grandsons Owen and Elliot Graf, sisters Sophie Breit, Jean Graf, and Roberta Rietcheck, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia (Pat) Graf

Alfred John Dreiling, 102, of Hays, Kansas, died Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Kansas Soldiers’ Home, Fort Dodge. He died the oldest military veteran in Ellis County.

He was born November 9, 1920, in Herzog Township, Kansas, to Nick and Anna (Stadleman) Dreiling. When was three years old, he moved with his family to a farm southeast of Ogallah, in Trego County, Kansas, where he graduated from Trego Community High School in 1938. He attended Fort Hays State University for one year as a pre-law major and baseball player, then worked as a brakeman on the Union Pacific Railroad the succeeding year to pay back his benefactor, Trego County Probate Judge Walter Swiggert.

As the nation prepared for World War II, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he was employed at the Douglas Aircraft Co. Long Beach factory as an experimental mechanic on the SBD Dauntless dive bomber. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in July 1943, serving as a clerk typist, and honorably discharged as a staff sergeant in June 1946.

Following his military service, he began a long career in banking and finance, beginning in 1946 with Bank of America in Los Angeles, during which he earned a master of banking degree from the California Bankers Association Graduate School of Banking at the University of California-Los Angeles in 1950. He moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1952, where he was executive vice president of United Bank of Aurora (now Wells Fargo Bank), until he moved to Hays, Kansas, and became vice president and chief operating officer of Hays National Bank in 1977 until his retirement in 1985. 

He enjoyed returning to the family farm, raising wheat, sorghum, and stocker cattle until he sold the farm in 2000, then working on his lawn and garden until he was 98 years old. 

In his later years, he enjoyed attending FHSU athletic events, watching the Kansas City Royals and Denver Broncos on television, as well as meeting up daily with friends for coffee at McDonald’s of North Hays.

He married his high school sweetheart Dorothea Nell Blakely of WaKeeney, Kansas, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Los Angeles, on February 20, 1944. She died June 7, 2005. He was appointed by Archbishop of Denver James V. Casey in 1967 to be founding president of the first Catholic parish council west of the Mississippi River at St. Therese Parish of Aurora. He was also an active member of the Aurora Rotary Club, Aurora Lions Club, and Aurora Elks Lodge #1921. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Hays, and Hays American Legion Post #173.

Survivors include two sons, James (Linda), of North Charleston, S.C., and Larry, of Hays; four grandsons, three granddaughters, two great-grandsons, five great-granddaughters, two stepgreat-grandsons, and one stepgreat-granddaughter.

Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jeanne, his parents, six brothers, and three sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Inurnment with military honors by the Hays VFW Post #9076 Honor Guard will follow in Christ the King Cemetery in WaKeeney. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time on November 4, 2023 at the&nbsp;church.

&nbsp;Memorials are suggested and payable to Fort Hays State University Foundation for the Alfred and Larry Dreiling Family Fund for Excellence in Political Science or to HaysMed Foundation.

Annabelle Pearl Anderson, Ness City&nbsp;

Annabelle Pearl Anderson, 91, passed away on September 20, 2023 at HaysMed in Hays, Kansas. &nbsp;She was born on June 6, 1932 in Wood Lake, Nebraska the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna (Mundt) Welke.

Annabelle graduated from Wood Lake High School in Woodlake, Nebraska. 

She started work after graduation as a telephone operator. 

She married the love of her life Raleigh R. Anderson on February 18, 1951. To this union a son, Brent Duane and a daughter, Candace (Candy) Rae was born.&nbsp;

Annabelle moved to Kansas in 1963 for Raleigh’s employment in Story’s Locker Plant in Ness City, KS. Later they bought the processing plant, and it became Anderson Locker Plant. Throughout her life Annabelle worked hard at many different occupations. 

When Annabelle wasn’t working, she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends or watching her favorite shows or sporting events on the television. &nbsp;Eventually she had to stop playing cards because macular degeneration prevented her from seeing the cards. She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by her children, relatives, and friends.

Survivors include her son, Brent Anderson of Ness City; daughter, Candace Anderson of Hays; and many nieces and nephews. &nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her father and mother-in-law; a sister, Opal Mundorf; and brothers, Sam, Ed, Vic, Art, and Lou Welke.

Graveside service will be on Monday, September 25, 2023, 10:30 a.m., at the Ness City Cemetery, Ness City, Kansas. Viewing will be at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas, on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Jennifer J. Goetz, age 43, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at her home in Topeka, Kansas from a brain aneurysm.

Jennifer was born December 12, 1979, in Hays, Kansas to Chris and Dana (Janzen) Goetz.

She attended Thomas More Prep-Marian High School and was a 1998 graduate. She studied behavioral health at Kansas University and graduated with a master’s degree from Fort Hays State University.

Jennifer’s was passionate about her work and helping families in need. She enjoyed volunteering to help rescue animals and spending as much time at the library as possible.

Jennifer is survived by her two sons, Gage Hallam and Wyatt Hallam; who live with their father, T.J. Hallam, in Andover, KS; her parents, Chris and Dana Goetz, of Hays, KS; her sister, Laura (Goetz) Buhlig, and husband, Tim, of Ogden, UT; her nieces and nephews, Kallie; Kaison; Joshua; Alexander; Ivan; and Layla; her maternal grandparents, Ed and Dixie Janzen, of Hays, KS; paternal grandmother, Lenora Goetz, of Hays, KS; her aunt, Lorna (Goetz) Doolittle and husband, Rick, of Overland Park, KS; her uncles, Christopher Janzen, of Hays, KS; Mark Goetz and wife, Kelly, (Schaffer), of Broomfield, CO; their two sons, Keenan and Braeden; and her best friend, Timarie Moravek, of Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Charles Goetz.

A celebration of life service, and a private inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials for Gage and Wyatt, made payable to Gage Hallam or Wyatt Hallam, or the Humane Society of the High Plains, in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

Steven Wesley Proctor, 65, passed away on September 18, 2023, at the Ness County Hospital in Ness City, Kansas. &nbsp;He was born on March 29, 1958, in Amarillo, Texas, the son of James "Jim" and Patricia (McKee) Proctor.

Steve grew up in Guymon, Oklahoma where he earned his Eagle Scout Award and in 1976 graduated from Guymon High School. &nbsp;

Steve never tired of trying new things. &nbsp;He worked in Perryton, TX as an EMT, worked construction and apartment maintenance in Colorado, and he was a firefighter and school bus driver in Guymon. &nbsp;In Wyoming he worked for Micron and drove a semi-truck. 

&nbsp;Steve settled in Kansas where he met and married the love of his life. 

In Ness City, he drove a school bus for many years and will be dearly missed by the students that rode on the bus with him. Steve loved to meet and visit with people, especially children. &nbsp;Driving the trolly in Dodge City gave him this opportunity.&nbsp;

Steve dearly loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. &nbsp;Steve will be remembered for all he gave and how little he took.

On Saturday, May 3, 2014, he married Tracy Slagle in Ness City. &nbsp;She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his son, CJ. Proctor of Wyoming; two sisters, Kellie (Dennis) Hudson, Longmont, CO and Trisha (Quentin) Mendenhall, Johnstown, CO; one brother, Jason (Amber) Proctor, Perry, OK; sister-in-law, Verla (Scott) King, Olmitz, KS; 10 nieces and nephews, Kaitlin (Matt) Davis, Megann Hudson, Josh (Dainele) Mendenhall, Keelie (Seth) Smith, Kelton, Kinsey, Kanon, and Karter Proctor, Devon King, and Raegan (Cole) McCurry; and seven great-nieces and nephews, C'Ne, Iba, Lilly, Troy, and Adaline Smith and Harper and Stetson McCurry. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Patricia Proctor.

Memorial service will be on Thursday, September 28, 2023, 6:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas. &nbsp;Burial in the Ness City Cemetery. &nbsp;Friends may sign the book at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m until service time.

Growing up in Goodland and attending school here, she graduated with the class of 1973.

On December 29, 1973, she married Stephen Mark Briney in Goodland.&nbsp; To this union, two children Stephanie and David were born.&nbsp; 

Pat worked for many years in the Goodland School System as a para professional.&nbsp; She also worked for several years at the Goodland Library.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving family includes her husband Steve, of the home in Goodland, her two children, Stephanie Briney of Columbia, South Carolina and David (Danielle) Briney of Gillette, Wyoming.&nbsp; She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jordan, Isabelle and Londyn Briney of Gillette, Wyoming; one sister Jacque (Barry) Jarrett of Goodland, KS; and two brothers, Duane Harper of Goodland, KS and Dwight (Jennifer) Harper of Oregon City, Oregon, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlene Marie Sharpe, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Springs Ranch Memory Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.&nbsp; She was born on May 13, 1945, in Colby, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Wenzel and Agnes M. Wahrman Brown.&nbsp; 

A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1968 moving from Herndon, Kansas, she was a sales service specialist at B&amp;B Advertising for 51 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas.

On August 18, 1964, she married Clive Joel Sharpe in Herndon, Kansas.&nbsp; He passed away on December 15, 2020, in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include her daughter - Christina M. Sharpe of Colorado Springs, Colorado, son - C. Justin and Heather Sharpe of Gilbert, Arizona, three grandchildren - Maddisen R. Sharpe of Madison, Wisconsin, Spencer J. Sharpe of Fishers, Indiana, Jarod C. Sharpe of Gilbert, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Eiko Konno Bosserman,&nbsp;Golden Valley, Arizona

Eiko Konna Bosserman was born the second daughter of Chotaro and Haru Konno on January 28, 1930 in Fukushima Prefecture in Japan. &nbsp;She left this world on May 18, 2023 in Golden Valley, AZ.

On March 20, 1957, Eiko married Ben Bosserman at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. &nbsp;In 1964 she was granted citizenship into the United States. 

In Japan, Eiko was a trained midwife. &nbsp;Upon her arrival in the U.S., she worked a civilian job until she and Ben retired and moved to Arizona. While living in the Kingman area, she and Ben were very active in the local VFW chapter and enjoyed exploring the southwest, collecting rocks/stones and turning them into jewelry.

Eiko was very proud of her Japanese heritage. &nbsp;She was raised Buddhist and remained faithful to her teachings.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ben Bosserman (2008). &nbsp;

She is survived by her brother-in-law John Bosserman, Oakley; nephews D.J. Bosserman (Joyce), Oakley, and Troy Bosserman (Laura), Oakley; great-niece/nephews Ashley Dinkel (Brandon), Hill City, KS; Clayton Bosserman (Ashley), Oakley, KS; Jonothan Bosserman (Nastasja), Oklahoma City, OK; great-great-nieces/nephews Conner Dinkel, Cade Dinkel, Cholee Dinkel, Citori Bosserman, Cauy Bosserman and Hattie Bosserman, along with extended family in Japan.

Margaret Gisler Thibault was born in Brawley, California on October 21, 1922. She had a twin brother, Joe, and brothers Frank and Walt and an older sister Annie. Her parents emigrated from Switzerland at the turn of the century. 

Margaret graduated from Chino High School in 1941. She married Levi Thibault in 1942.

Margaret was a true pioneer woman and when Levi decided to move back to Kansas, she gave up her family and friends to move to a small farm without indoor plumbing. Margaret moved with two little girls, pregnant with her third child and became a farmer’s wife. She learned to plant a large garden, dress chickens, cook for a family of seven, make clothes, repair anything and be active in her church and the lives of her five children !

Margaret is survived by her children, Betty Beatty, Barbara Robinson, Dave and his wife Susan, Tim and his wife Cindy. Her son, Larry, predeceased her in October of 2022. She has ten grandchildren, 16 great children and one great great granddaughter. She was loved and cherished by her family!

LEOTI — JoAnn Neubauer (Krenzel) passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2023, in Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp; She was 80 years old.

JoAnn was born to Leo H. Krenzel and Frances Appl in Great Bend, Kansas on July 20th, 1943.&nbsp; 

After graduating from Leoti High School in 1961, she married Richard H. Neubauer in September 1964.&nbsp; Together, they briefly set out to California before coming back to southwest Kansas where they started a family in 1967, having three children – Darcie, Theresa, and Jaret Holt.&nbsp; 

JoAnn was a proud employee of the U.S. Postal Service until she retired.&nbsp; While she appreciated most all sports, she was a particular fan of Chiefs football and KU basketball and was always quick to make sure her family was kept up to date on the latest sports news.&nbsp; She adored Elvis and loved shopping…especially at Target.&nbsp; Her ability to make the finest chocolate pie and brownies in all of southwest Kansas could not be overstated.

She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her children and their spouses – Darcie and Dan Howk of Parker, CO, Theresa &amp; Dave Whatley of Goddard, KS, and Jaret and Shawnee Neubauer of Longmont, CO, as well as her sister Leola “Aunt Ole” Owens of Leoti, KS and two nephews – Perry (and Bonnie) Owens of Minneapolis, KS and Cole (and Glenda) Owens of Garden City, KS.&nbsp; JoAnn was blessed to be a grandmother to four grandchildren – Megan, Darrell (and Kimmy), Josh, and Jurnee and great-grandmother to four more – Meela, Nash, Ameera, and Cory. &nbsp;

Neubauer in September 1964.&nbsp; Together, they briefly set out to California before coming back to southwest Kansas where they started a family in 1967, having three children – Darcie, Theresa, and Jaret Holt.&nbsp; JoAnn was a proud employee of the U.S. Postal Service until she retired.&nbsp; While she appreciated most all sports, she was a particular fan of Chiefs football and KU basketball and was always quick to make sure her family was kept up to date on the latest sports news.&nbsp; She adored Elvis and loved shopping…especially at Target.&nbsp; Her ability to make the finest chocolate pie and brownies in all of southwest Kansas could not be overstated.She is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her children and their spouses – Darcie and Dan Howk of Parker, CO, Theresa &amp; Dave Whatley of Goddard, KS, and Jaret and Shawnee Neubauer of Longmont, CO, as well as her sister Leola “Aunt Ole” Owens of Leoti, KS and two nephews – Perry (and Bonnie) Owens of Minneapolis, KS and Cole (and Glenda) Owens of Garden City, KS.&nbsp; JoAnn was blessed to be a grandmother to four grandchildren – Megan, Darrell (and Kimmy), Josh, and Jurnee and great-grandmother to four more – Meela, Nash, Ameera, and Cory. &nbsp;Memorial service will be held on October 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Price &amp; Sons Funeral Home in Leoti.&nbsp; Interment will follow at the Leoti Cemetery.Memorials may be given to the JoAnn Neubauer Fund, c/o Price &amp; Sons Funeral Home, P.O.
