Rueben
J Urban, 88, of Loretto, KS passed away on May 3, 2025 at home surrounded by
his loving family.



Rueben was born on October 24, 1936 on the family farm northwest of Loretto,
the son of Frank and Rosalia (Breit) Urban. He was a lifelong resident of Rush
County.



Rueben was a proud Bison Buffalo, graduating in the Bison High School class of
1954. He attended Brown Mackie College in Salina, KS. He joined the United
States Army in 1955 was stationed in Germany, and honorably discharged two
years later. He was pleased to share his time in service with his brother Al
and always shared stories from this time in his life with great fondness.



On June 2, 1962, on a rainy day, Rueben married the love of his life, Virginia
Engel at St. Mary’s, Loretto, KS. They were just one month shy of celebrating
their 63rd wedding anniversary.



Farming, family, and friends were the center of Rueben’s life. He was well
loved in his community, possessed a gentle demeanor, and could easily strike up
a conversation with anyone he met. He was a member of the National Farming
Organization, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion. He loved baseball and
played for many teams including the Loretto Blue Jays, Bison Buffalos, Larned,
Osborne, Salina, and even the Army baseball team while stationed in Germany. He
was a loyal Royals fan and enjoyed watching them until the end. He enjoyed
playing cards and was indeed lucky in cards and in life. Rueben was a barbecue
master and enjoyed smoking jerky and even prepared whole hogs for parties and
celebrations. Some additional hobbies included gardening, bowling, golfing, and
fishing. Although he was a hard worker, he always took time to appreciate the
simple pleasures in life. His greatest joy came from his family, spending each
day with his wife, and watching his children, grandchildren, and great
grandchildren grow.



Survivors include: his wife, Virginia Urban, Loretto, KS, son-in-law, Lynn
Lichter, Topeka, KS, one son, Ken (Melanie) Urban, Loretto, KS; two daughters,
Karin Cross (Christopher) Alexandria, VA, and Kristen Janda (Jeff), Blue Hill,
NE; eleven grandchildren, Andrew (Erin) Lichter, Erin Lichter, Brett Lichter,
Blake Cross, Brock Cross, Kole (Ashley) Urban, Kade Urban, Ellie Janda, Owen
Janda, Claire Janda, and Kate Janda; four great grandchildren, Remi and Kollie
Urban, and Beckett and Parker Lichter; and one sister, Arlene Stramel (Gary),
Hays, KS.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Al Urban, his daughter,
Kyle Lichter, and granddaughter, Millie Janda.



The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, at the St. Mary’s
Help of Christians Shrine, Loretto, Kansas.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a
combined vigil and rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Friday visitation will be from
9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. all at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Shrine, Loretto,
Kansas.

the Great Bend Invitational Monday at the Lake Barton Golf Course. The Indians finished

⚽ HHS completes win over Liberal

HAYS – The Hoxie Indians placed four golfers in the top 15
as they claimed the overall team title at the TMP Invitational golf tournament Monday
at the Smoky Hill Country Club.

Noah Dowell fired a six-over 77 to pace the Indians and
finished second as an individual.

The Indians edged Oakley by six shots as a team. Hoxie
tallied a 343 total. Oakley was second with a 349. Plainville finished third (356),
Scott City finished fourth (362), and Goodland (363) rounded out the top five.

Oakley’s Easton Fink won the individual title with a
one-over 72.

Plainville’s Jayden Morris was third (+7), Jackson Rumford from
Scott City finished fourth (+9), and Norton’s Eli Jones (+10) finished out the
top five.

TMP’s Heuer Brungard finished sixth with an 11-over 82.

Families have reported thefts from two graves at the Munjor Cemetery.

Chelsea Dickey, a Munjor resident, said several items were stolen from her son Colton's grave before Easter. The family has yet to purchase a headstone, and Colton's marker was taken out of the ground.

The thief or thieves also took solar lights, a cross, a cardinal, decorative initials, a Christmas tree, and memorial stones left by friends and family.

"They totally came out there and cleaned house," Dickey said.

Another family whose loved one is buried at the cemetery had their father's rosary and a limestone rock stolen from a grave.

Ellis County Commissioner Neal Younger helps do maintenance at the cemetery and said the items had not been disturbed during maintenance.

The thefts were reported to the Ellis County Sheriff's Office.

Ellis County Sheriff Scott Braun said Monday the case is under investigation. The two graves are the only ones he knew to be affected. Braun said officers believe juveniles might have been involved in the thefts.

Braun said the sheriff's office has increased patrols in the area since the incident. No further thefts have been reported, he said.

Dickey said the items had sentimental value to her family. She said she hoped whoever took the items would return them.

The Ellis County Commission will make a motion on a preliminary plat for Fairview Patch Addition&nbsp;during its meeting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The application includes plans for 13 residential parcels near 400th Avenue and Severin Road. Ten parcels will measure 3 acres each, one about 3.1 acres, and two larger parcels around 4.5 and 4.7 acres.

The land is zoned agricultural but is being used for residential purposes. The Ellis County Planning Commission has already approved the preliminary plat.

Environmental Services Director Justin Craig and James Meis, survey manager with Driggs Design Group, will give the presentation.

Ellis County staff will request approval to allocate special alcohol funds to the Ellis County Historical Society for 2025.

Because of Ellis County's size, the funds are split into three categories: general use, parks and recreation, and alcohol and drug programs. Since there are no county parks, the parks portion is usually allocated to the Ellis County Historical Society each year.

Historical Society Executive Director Amanda Rupp submitted a formal request letter. County Administrator Darin Myers will lead the discussion.

The Ellis County Health Department is seeking approval to close its office from May 21 to May 22 so staff can attend the Kansas Immunization Conference in Wichita.

The conference will offer essential training and reinforce best practices for immunization and outbreak response, especially in response to the current measles outbreak.

Ellis County Health Director Melissa Miller will speak to the commissioners.

Ellis County EMS is requesting approval to accept a grant to help pay for two new defibrillator monitors. The total purchase cost is about $73,000, with the grant covering about $18,000.

Ellis County staff is requesting permission to close the Administrative Building at a later date to allow the installation of emergency generator transfer switch equipment.&nbsp;

Wayne “Jerry” Frank, 92, died May 2, 2025, at Via Christi Village in Hays.



Jerry was born on May 29, 1932, in Hays, to Frederick “Fritz” and Crescentia
“Chris” (Glassman) Frank. He lived in Fairport during his early years, moving
to Hays when he was four years old. As a young man, he mowed lawns and managed
the second-largest newspaper route in town, with over 100 papers.



He spent his freshman year of high school in a seminary in Pennsylvania, then
returned to Hays to finish his education at St. Joseph’s Military Academy,
graduating in 1950. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States
Army. Jerry was called into active duty in August of 1950, and served in the
Korean War for 18 months. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with six
Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, and a Meritorious Unit
Commendation. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1952.



After the war, Jerry returned to Hays and his job as a bottle machine operator
at the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. He later embarked on a 38-year career at
Premier Wine and Spirits (previously State Distributors), where he began as a
warehouse and delivery man and worked his way up to warehouse manager before
retiring in 1992.


Jerry was a devout Catholic, deeply devoted to the Blessed Mother, and a living
embodiment of humility and generosity. His entire life was dedicated to taking
care of others, from his grandparents, his mother, and his brothers to his
aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. When his home wasn’t buzzing with family,
it was the site of pinochle games and long porch talks with friends he’d known
since childhood. He loved fishing at Kirwin Reservoir, gave away the best
vegetables from his large garden and the most beautiful flowers from his
greenhouse, and appreciated a simple bowl of ice cream. He was a loyal fan of
Royals baseball, Jayhawks basketball, and Chiefs football.



Jerry is survived by his cousins Terry Glassman, Belinda Hartman, Susan Meyers,
Martha (Donald) Lang, John (Rhonda) Glassman, Rick (Cheryl) Glassman, Mike
(Sandy) Glassman, Mark (Dee) Glassman, and Chris Glassman; his sister-in-law,
Lana Frank; and his nieces and nephews Michelle McRae, Jennifer Whitmer,
Melanie (Henry) Moss, Amy (Troy) Stump, Mike (Angel) Frank, Rachel (Craig) Staab,
Heather (Cory) Myers, Patrick (Amanda Brown) Frank, Erin (Scott) Quintana,
William (Amanda) Frank, Nicole (Reese Barrick) Frank, Marisa Frank, and Eric
Frank; and as well as 30 great-nieces and nephews; and 29 great-great nieces
and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters-in-law
Frederick “Jim” Frank, Robert (Sally) Frank, Harold “Hap” Frank, and Kenneth
(Andra) Frank; his niece Elizabeth Frank; his aunts and uncles Louis Glassman,

loyal, cherished cousins.



Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 8, 2025 at St. Joseph's
Catholic Church in Hays. Burial with military honors will follow in the St.
Joseph's Cemetery. Fr. Fred Gatschet and Fr. Harvey Dinkel will officiate.



Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a combined parish vigil and
rosary service at 7:00 PM. Thursday visitation will be 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM all at
Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

For the first time in Hays, the Kansas Science Festival sparked curiosity among children, turning downtown into a living lab of real-world science.

The festival was held on Sunday on Main Street and was filled with hands-on STEM activities. Organizer Dallas Haselhorst said it was the event's first outside of Manhattan.

"Science and STEM are really involved in everything. This was to show kids that there's a lot of different science and engineering-inspired technology," Haselhorst said.

With interactive booths and opportunities to meet researchers from across Kansas, the event aimed to highlight the importance of science in everyday life.

The festival featured four activity sites along Main Street, where about 25 presenters showcased various scientific fields to attendees.

Stacy Campbell, agent with the Cottonwood District, used a model aquifer at the festival to help children understand how underground water systems function.

Using food coloring and tubing, he demonstrated how water and pollutants travel through soil layers, providing a simple visual for kids.

"Even when I was a kid, I lived where the aquifer was... I always thought it was this big underground cavern where water was, but it's really in the soil. All these different layers can hold the water," Campbell said.

Several activities were held under the Hays Outdoor Pavilion, including a roped-off area where elephant toothpaste would erupt from a tube, requiring science goggles.

Arvin Cruz, chair of the Fort Hays State University Chemistry Department, supervised the FHSU Chemistry Club as they demonstrated experiments such as liquid nitrogen, disappearing styrofoam and burning cloth.

Cruz also emphasized the importance of making science approachable to kids and families rather than just experts, hoping similar events will encourage others to explore careers in science.

"Someday we'll be gone from Earth, and we'll need a new generation of scientists," Cruz said.&nbsp;

Activities spanned from the Hays Public Library to STEM Harvest on the south end of Main Street, where children could learn from researchers, examine artifacts and interact with animals.

Haselhorst said Hays was selected for the Kansas Science Festival due to its strong educational foundation, including Fort Hays State University and STEM Harvest.

He said that if the event is successful, Hays could become a model for bringing the festival to other rural communities across the state.

"Maybe in the future, aside from just those four locations, we line up Main Street with different presenters, tables and organizations showing what they do in the form of STEM," Haslehorst said.

Children also learned from the FHSU Robotics Team, the university’s Science and Mathematics Education Institute, the Sternberg Museum and the Hays Fire Department. They also had the chance to view the sun safely through telescopes and enjoy face painting.

Organizer Dallas Haselhorst said it was the event's first outside of Manhattan."Science and STEM are really involved in everything. Kansas Science Festival makes STEM fun for Hays children

Hays Middle School Performing Arts

Hays Middle School Performing Arts students will present a joint stage and vocal music performance at the Hays Community Theatre on Thursday, May 8, followed by a stage performance only on Sunday, May 11.

On May 8, the HMS Falcon Singers will open the performance at 7 p.m. with about 25 minutes of vocal music, followed by the one-act play, “Gossip,” presented by drama students. On Sunday, no vocal music will be presented, only the play at 2 p.m.

“I’m pleased that the vocal students will join us for the Thursday performance,” said play director Bill Gasper. “It makes for a little longer evening of entertainment for parents and friends. It was decided to do the Sunday performance of the play because of family members wanting to attend from out-of-town.”

The Falcon Singers, under the direction of Michael Davidson, will perform four or five songs. That will be followed by several solo and small group numbers for a total performance time of 25 minutes.

“This is a talented and dedicated group of singers who practice with me early before school each week,” Davidson said.

Members of the Falcon Singers are Isabel Enriquez Carrasco, Kennedy Smith, Sarah Niehaus, Isabella Anderson, Addison Booze, Annelise Buller, Kenzie Wolcott, Briggston Anderson, Elaina Bach, Evie Dietz, Ryker Barrett, Rachel Dees, Nadia Hernandez, Kahner McGuire, and Reese Custer.

“Gossip” is an award-winning play by Brian Hampton that spins a cautionary tale about the negative effects of gossip.

The 35-minute show personifies Gossip as a new student with a charismatic yet cunning personality. Gossip quickly befriends one of the popular girls, Dallas, but it’s soon revealed that Gossip has entered the friendship with sinister intentions, aiming to take Dallas’ place in the school play and get closer to her boyfriend, Tim.

As Gossip weaves a web of lies and deception, twisting the truth to get what she wants, the group of friends she’s infiltrated begins to unravel until they eventually learn of Gossip’s ulterior motives and turn on her in a dramatic twist.

“It shows how the rest of the kids deal with gossip and eventually learn that gossip is not a very good thing to spread or to believe all the time,” Gasper said.

The play features 10 students, including Isabella Anderson, Jackson Berges, Addison Booze, Annelise Buller, Kalliape Butler, Braelyn Dumler, Zach Leiker, Korbin Miller,

Savannah Wittkorn and Kenzie Wolcott. Helping with the production is assistant director Emily Buller.

No admission will be charged for the performance and everyone is invited. Hays Community Theatre is located at 121 E. 8th Street.

The Heartland Community Foundation is excited to announce that applications are&nbsp;now open for the 2025-26 Youth Action Council (YAC), a leadership and enrichment program for&nbsp;high school students in Ellis, Rooks, and Trego counties.

&nbsp;The YAC program aims to empower young&nbsp;people to be involved in community decision-making, cultivate a spirit of philanthropy, and instill a

Since December 2020, Heartland has granted over $100,000 to teen-led projects, and we want to&nbsp;continue supporting their efforts and empowering them to do even more. YAC members will have&nbsp;the opportunity to learn about generosity in a practical way by being generous and developing&nbsp;community projects.

There were 43 YAC members on the 2024-25 council from all eight high schools in Ellis, Rooks, and&nbsp;Trego counties.

&nbsp;Each county worked on a communitywide project. Those projects are ongoing and have provided exciting and important learning opportunities for members. Members also had the opportunity to review Heartland grant applications during the fall cycle. They completed a community service project in January, assembling 200 “birthday bags” to distribute to area food banks, providing all of the fixings needed to celebrate a birthday. 

Topics discussed each month have included leadership, fundraising, marketing, grant writing, and more. Members from 2024-25 council who have not graduated will be part of the 2025-26 council. Those who are graduating become part of a growing network of Youth Action Council alums.

“Joining YAC has allowed me to connect with students from other schools, creating a community where I can share ideas, tackle community projects and build friendships while being taught about the grant process. said Mia Coleman, a senior at Trego Community High School. Marlie Dobson, a senior at Plainville High School, added,&nbsp; “Being a part of YAC has brought me the best opportunities. My leadership and communication skills have grown tremendously in the last two years. I wrote&nbsp;and was awarded a grant to benefit my school. I love that I am able to help better my school and community.”

YAC meetings are held once a month during the school day for about an hour, rotating locations&nbsp;among individual high schools within each county. Twice a year, in August and January, the full&nbsp;council from throughout the Heartland area will come together to meet in a larger group in Hays.

The group will also be tasked with developing and volunteering for a service project.

In selecting new members, the Heartland Youth Action Council is looking for teens who:

● Care about their community and want to make a difference

● Are open-minded, critical thinkers who can discuss tough issues and creative solutions

● Demonstrate integrity and initiative in their actions and decisions

● Will be in 10th or 11th grade during the 2025-26 academic school year. 12th graders must be returning members.

● Reside in Ellis, Rooks, or Trego counties.

The expectations of Youth Action Council members are as follows:

● Attend a Youth Action Council orientation in Hays during early August.

● Attend a monthly meeting during the school day in your home county in September,&nbsp;October, November, February, March and April by zoom or in person.

● Attend a Youth Action Council retreat in Hays in January.

● Actively participate in discussions and activities.

● Be an advocate for the Youth Action Council, the Heartland Community Foundation, and the&nbsp;youth in our community.

In observance of Older American’s Month, Northwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging (NWKAAA) will be hosting its annual “Information Day” for older Kansans and caregivers on Wednesday, May 7.&nbsp;The theme this year is “Flip the Script on Aging.”

&nbsp;This event will be held at Big Creek Crossing (The Mall), 2918 Vine Street, Hays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with bingo from 2:15 - 3:00 p.m.

EMPORIA - Former Hays High standout Jordan Dale won the men's high jump at the MIAA Track and Field Championships. Dale, who finished second at the MIAA Championships in 2024, won with a leap of&nbsp;2.12m (6-11.50).

Dale is a three-time All-American and set the Hays High school record with a height of&nbsp;6-10.00 at the state meet.

🏃 Former HHS standout Dale wins MIAA high jump title

EMPORIA, Kan. – The Fort Hays State track and field teams wrapped up the 2025 MIAA Outdoor Championships on Sunday (May 4) with several standout performances, including three athletes earning All-MIAA recognition and numerous Tigers scoring points across multiple events.

On the women's side, Reba Mader capped off a stellar weekend with a runner-up finish in the 400m hurdles, clocking an NCAA Division II provisional mark of 1:00.48. The performance not only earned her All-MIAA honors and eight points for the team, but also placed her third all-time in Fort Hays State's Division II history in the event.

Emily Diercks turned in one of the top distance efforts of the day, finishing runner-up in the 5,000m with a time of 17:05.07, collecting another All-MIAA honor and eight team points in the process.

The 4x400m relay team of Amelia Foster, Makenzie Premer, Eden Bathurst, and Mader added a point with an eighth-place finish. In the triple jump, Abby Rueschhoff contributed two points by placing seventh, while Jayme Hagerman and Brynlee Frank followed just outside the scoring in ninth and tenth.

The women finished the championships with a solid team showing, placing seventh overall with 44 total points.

On the men's side, Toby Wahlmeier highlighted the day by earning All-MIAA honors in the 200m, placing third overall in 21.06, an NCAA provisional qualifying time. Wahlmeier also scored in the 100m, finishing seventh, and led a trio of Tigers scoring in the 200m, with Nakari Morrical-Palmer finishing fifth and Hayden Albright eighth.

Morrical-Palmer added another scoring performance in the 400m, placing sixth with a provisional time of 47.46. The effort marked a new personal best and moved him up to fifth all-time in Fort Hays State's Division II era. In the 400m hurdles, Nolan Churchman chipped in two more team points with a seventh-place finish in 53.99, a performance that also placed him fifth on the program's Division II all-time list.

The 4x400m relay team of Avrey Albright, Drew Tolar, Morrical-Palmer, and Churchman finished fifth in 3:15.31, grabbing four more points. In field events, the men's pole vault group had a strong showing, led by Brady Deges in fourth and Josiah Ball in sixth. Both earned important team points, while Kurtis McCormick finished just outside the scoring in ninth.

The men's team totaled 31.5 points and an eighth place finish to close out the meet.

With one MIAA Champion, four All-MIAA performances, and seven NCAA Division II provisional marks, Fort Hays State wrapped up the MIAA Championships on a high note, carrying strong momentum into the final stretch of the season. The Tigers will look to sharpen their qualifying marks and solidify national bids at their final tune-up in Kearney, Neb. on Saturday (May 10) before turning their full focus to the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships later this month.

BELOIT –&nbsp; Navarre Plagmann, from Sumner, Nebraska, is a talented welding student in the Fort Hays Tech | North Central Beloit welding program. 

Plagmann has been named a national finalist in the prestigious Project MFG National competition—a Department of Defense initiative designed to promote careers in manufacturing and skilled trades across the United States.

The competition challenges students to complete complex, real-world projects based on equipment and technologies used in government production.

This year’s focus was the M1 Abrams tank, while previous years featured aircraft such as the Corsair, SR-71 Blackbird, and the B-2 Stealth Bomber.

Plagmann’s ability to read and interpret blueprints and his mastery of welding processes earned him a spot among the nation’s top finalists. He will now advance to the national competition, which will take place in Big Rapids, Michigan. Each year, the location and project are different, ensuring the competition remains dynamic and rigorous.

“This competition really pushes your skills,” said Plagmann. “You have to know your craft inside and out, especially when you’re working on projects modeled after real military-grade equipment.”

The national round of Project MFG is professionally filmed and broadcast on YouTube through the Clash of Trades channel, which features a wide range of manufacturing disciplines, from CNC machining to welding. The series not only highlights the competition, but also aims to raise awareness about the importance of skilled labor in strengthening the nation’s economy.

Plagmann’s achievement places him among the top young tradespeople in the country, and his upcoming appearance on the national stage is a proud moment for both his community and school.

Fort Hays Tech | North Central student earns spot at national manufacturing competition

As the Hays City Commission neared the end of their discussion during Thursday's work session about a requested property abatement for the former&nbsp;Rodeway Inn Motel, the owner's representative spoke up from the audience and announced there is a likely buyer for the property.

Elinda Mages, is the owner's representative and also general manager of the Avid Hotel in Hays.

"We would respectfully ask that you not pass this abatement," Mages said.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Rodeway Inn Motel, 3404 Vine St., is owned by HKHR Hospitality Inc. and was&nbsp;<a href="https://hayspost.com/posts/5e02e23b-0f72-40cb-9cb4-862afda92c4c">shut down by the Kansas Fire Marshal</a>&nbsp;last year for significant structural damage.&nbsp; On Oct. 5, 2024, the fire marshal was notified by the owner that the motel was closed.

If an abatement is approved by commissioners at next week's regular meeting and the owner takes no action to remedy the issues, the city will hire a contractor to demolish the structure, and all abatement costs will be charged to the property owner.

"That doesn't mean if you were to approve the resolution, that on day 11 after that, we're going to have bulldozers there," said Toby Dougherty, city manager.

"We do have a letter of intent from someone to purchase the property," Mages told the commission.

"I'm not at liberty to give who it is, but it is a national chain. It's a pretty sure thing. This chain has been looking at Hays for a while. In that purchase, they would be responsible for the building. We're just waiting to finalize everything."

Mages said she did not have a time frame for closing on the property purchase.

City Attorney Don Hoffman said he didn't think an abatement would legally affect a potential sale.

 </figure>Commissioners stressed they do not want to stand in the way of progress or a potential purchase.Public Works Director Jesse Rohr said in the past, there have been situations where an abatement resolution was passed, and the owner then stepped in to rehabilitate or demolish the property's contents."It gives staff the ability to take action if nothing happens," said Mason Ruder, vice-mayor."As long as communication continues, nobody's going to jump out there and mess up a sale," said Mayor Sandy Jacobs. "We all want the same thing, I think.""We are in the process of contracting with an auctioneer to sell the personal property so it doesn't just go to a landfill," Mages said.The former Budget Inn property, 810 E. Eighth St., was also scheduled for an abatement discussion but was removed from the agenda.Jarrod Kuckelman, assistant city manager, told the Hays Post after the work session, "progress has been made on cleaning up the property (owned by Mark Ottley) and demolition is scheduled to begin Monday."<figure>

 </figure>In other business, commissioners reviewed an ordinance to establish a Reinvestment Housing Incentive District and a plan for developing 101 houses and public facilities in the Tallgrass 2nd Addition, Phase 4 at the northeast corner of Wheatland Avenue and 22nd Street.The private developer, Heart of America Development Corporation of Ellis County, requests the district financing on a pay-as-you-go basis for 25 years.Heart of America proposes the city finance the majority of the district-eligible costs and construct the infrastructure, utilizing the district revenues to offset the city’s costs. Revenues will come from incremental property tax revenues collected on the project site.A low bid award was also considered for constructing a stormwater equipment storage building by QMC, Inc., Gove County, for $292,650. QMC most recently built the Hays Microfactory.&nbsp;
