
Donna E. Martin, 90, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, KS.
Donna was born November 26, 1930, in Waldo, KS, the daughter of
Herbert John and Clara Pearl (Westfall) Bushell. On September 24, 1949,
she married Leland Verle Martin in Abilene, KS, to this union they were
blessed with five children, Steve, Dennis, Gary, Rob and Pam.
Donna was a member of Smith Center Church of the Nazarene, VFW
Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Republican County Chairman,
Delegate to the 1st District and to the State, Historical Society
President (15 years), Church Board, Sunday School Teacher, Bob Dole's
County Chairman, Economical Organization, Meals on Wheels and Boy Scout
Den Mother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband
Leland on February 8, 2006, two sons, Steve and Gary Martin, a brother
Clair Dean Bushell, a sister Babe McKinley, a granddaughter Melanie
Martin and a great-great granddaughter Steely Hake.
Donna is
survived by two sons, Dennis Martin of Smith Center, Rob (Roxie) Martin
of Jamestown; one daughter, Pam (Jack) Metz of Hutchinson; nine
grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great-great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.,
Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Church of the Nazarene, 117 E. New York
St., Smith Center, with Pastor Jeremy Carr officiating. Visitation will
be held on Tuesday July 13, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with
family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m., at All Faiths Funeral
Chapel, 113 S. Madison St., Smith Center. Burial will take place in
Fairview Cemetery, Smith Center. Memorials may be given to Smith Center
Church of the Nazarene or Smith County Historical Society and can be
sent in care of the funeral chapel.
