Quentanna Marie 'Quen' McGlynn

Quentanna Marie “Quen” McGlynn, 57, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away on November 12, 2021, at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. She was born November 24, 1963, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, the daughter of Phil Williams and Joyce Cramwell/Hagler. Quen has resided in Lyons since 1976, formerly of Ness City, Kansas.

She graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1982 and continued her education earning certificates as a Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Aide, and Rehabilitation Aide. Quen worked at Good Samaritan Society of Lyons for nineteen and a half years as a CNA, CMA, RA, van driver and assisted the residents with activities. She has worked at Sterling Village as a RA and activities director since July of 2021.

Quen was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons, and a 4-H Club leader. She judged cooking at the Kansas State Fair. Quen enjoyed being outdoors, canning, sewing, tending to her chickens, and most of all spending time with her family. On June 12, 1982, Quen was united in marriage with Kevin McGlynn in Lyons. He survives of the home.

She is also survived her father, Phil Williams and wife Teresa of Baldwin City, KS; mother, Joyce Dudenhoeffer and husband Don of Bronson, KS; three children, Amie Moore and husband Michael of Columbus, OH, Sarah Johnson and husband Brock of Hutchinson, KS, and Jason McGlynn and fiancé Sarah Malott of Hays, KS; six siblings, Amanda Taylor, DeeDee Hartman, T.J. Larkin, Brian Williams, Boe Williams, and Travis Williams; uncle and aunt, Jim and Jan Black of Loveland, CO; five grandchildren, Jessamee Moore, Emily Moore, Chloie Johnson, Beau Johnson, and Barrett Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Quen is preceded in death by her brother, Jason Kenneth Williams; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Marge Williams; and maternal grandparents, Harold and Elise Hagler.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, November 18, 2021, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons with Father Michael Brungardt officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M with a rosary at 7:00 P.M.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Catholic Church, Rice County 4-H Club, or Sterling Village (for the resident’s activities fund) in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
