Lifelong Goodland, KS resident, Ronald Andrew Van Vleet, 83, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021, at his home in Goodland.
Ronald was born on April 18, 1937, in Goodland to George A. and Margaret E. (Scarrow) Van Vleet. He was one of six children. He attended school in Goodland through the 9th grade.
On October 1, 1955, he married Patsy Eloise McClung at the First Christian Church in Goodland. To this union, five children were born: Rodney, Dean, Gail, Daniel and Lora.
Ronald worked for many years at the Grain Elevator in Goodland. He was a member of the First Christian Church, and the Elks Club in Goodland. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Proceeding him in death were his parents, his wife Patsy, 3 brothers; Charles (Malcolm), Richard and Harold; 2 sisters-in-law Marjorie Van Vleet and Julia Van Vleet; and 2 brothers-in-law Merlyn Blue and Kenneth Smith.
He is survived by his children; Rodney (Marilyn) Van Vleet of Kearney, NE, Dean (Karen) Van Vleet of Larned, KS, Gail Keen (Rod Lindsten) of Goodland, KS, Daniel (Diana) Van Vleet of Springfield, MO, and Lora (Micheal) Lake of Goodland, KS; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters; Esther Smith of Carthage, MS and Wilma Blue of West Valley, UT, and one sister-in-law Emma Van Vleet of Goodland, KS.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at 10:30 AM MT at Koons-Russell Funeral Home in Goodland with Pastor Doug Amend officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM MT at the Funeral Home.
Masks will be required at all services for Ronald.
