HaysMed Hospice and Palliative Care is inviting community members to learn more about becoming a hospice volunteer at an upcoming training session on Wednesday, May 27.

This training provides an introduction to the philosophy of hospice care and highlights the meaningful role volunteers play in supporting patients, families, and the care team. Attendance at the training does not require a commitment to volunteer, making it an excellent opportunity for those who are curious or considering this rewarding form of service.

Hospice volunteers contribute in a variety of ways, including spending time with patients, assisting with light office tasks, making follow-up phone calls, and helping with special events throughout the year. Volunteers do not provide hands-on medical care, and there is no minimum time requirement to participate.

HaysMed Hospice serves patients and families across Ellis, Rush, Russell, and Rooks counties, offering compassionate, patient-centered care during life’s most meaningful moments.

Training Session Details:

Date: Wednesday, May 27, 2026 Time: 8:00 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m. Location: HaysMed – St. Agnes Room 2

Registration is required. To reserve a spot or request more information, please call the HaysMed Hospice office at 785-623-6200 by May 18.

HaysMed Hospice and Palliative Care looks forward to sharing how volunteering can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and families.
