Jerald J. Hadley

Jerald J. Hadley, 80, passed away July 8, 2020 at the University of Kansas Health Systems Pawnee Valley Campus, Larned.

He was born March 15, 1940 in Ashland to Frank F. and Ida Mae Schumacher Hadley.

After being raised in Shallow Water, KS, Jerald attended McPherson College. Upon graduating college, he moved to Larned, Kansas, where he was a high school biology teacher, track coach, and a Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsor. He was a member of New Jerusalem Church, Pawnee Rock, a Santa Fail Trail Center Museum board member and volunteer, member of the Jordaan Scholarship board, Larned Township board, and a past member of the Larned Country Club board.

On July 25, 1964 he married Karen Louise Bontrager at Shallow Water, KS, she survives.

Other survivors include: daughter, Kristina “Tina” Landon, Ellsworth; son, Eric (Paris Bouchard) Hadley, St. Charles, Missouri; sister, Janet (Dwayne) Lyles, Denver, Colorado; brother, Herald (Adrene) Hadley, Spokane, Washington; four grandchildren, Kassy (Gunner) Phelan, Kailee Landon (Christo Greyling), Michael Bouchard-Hadley, and Melany Bouchard-Hadley.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Hadley, and a sister, Carol Barker.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, and live streamed via Facebook at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary, Larned with Reverend Jane Siebert presiding. Visitation 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary, with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
