The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Ellis County until 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

"Those in and around the Hays area should be prepared for large hail and damaging winds," the NWS said in a social media post.

Golf-ball sized hail and 60 mph winds are expected.
