
Harold E. Crispin, Jr., 82, Hays, died Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his home.
He was born December 19, 1943, in Wichita, the son of Harold E. and Orlinda “Linda” (Bieker) Crispin. Harold lived in Salina during his youth, and as a high school freshman, he attended St. Joseph Military Academy in Hays as a boarding student. He moved back to Salina to complete his high school education and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1962. He later began taking classes at Fort Hays State University, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. On January 6, 1975, he was united in marriage to JoAnne Stephens at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays. They celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Harold owned and operated Crispin’s Honda Shop, working with JoAnne, who was the bookkeeper. They closed the shop in 1989, and he went on to work as a salesman at several car dealerships.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the St. Joseph third degree Knights of Columbus Council #1325 where he was Past Grand Knight, and the FHSU Alumni Association. Harold loved to ride and repair motorcycles, enjoyed playing Mexican Train Dominoes, and cherished his family.
Survivors include his wife JoAnne of Hays, three sons Cris Crispin and wife Heather of Holton, Carey Crispin and wife Eva of Shawnee, and Jeff Crispin and wife Tina of Hays, two daughters Tracey Jordan and husband Dan of Wichita and Kelley Shaver and husband Jesse of Hays, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and motorcycle buddies.
He was preceded in death by his father Harold E. Crispin Sr., his mother Linda Hall, and his stepfather Bob Hall.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Fred Gatschet officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A third-degree Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 8:30 am followed by visitation from 9:00 am until service time, all on Thursday at the church.
