Dana Michelle (Morse) Peterson, 37, Great Bend, Kansas, passed awaySaturday, January 14, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Dana was born November 7, 1985, in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Timothy J. “Tim” and Cecelia J. (Schoendaller) Morse. She was a resident of Great Bend, Kansas, for most of her adult life. A 2004 graduate of La Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas, she attended Barton Community College, Great Bend, Kansas, and McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas, graduating with a degree in Graphic Design and Studio Art. She was a cake decorator at Dillons in Great Bend, Kansas.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and a former Girl Scout leader, both in Great Bend, Kansas.
Dana loved her family, her dear friends, kitty cats especially, but all animals, family vacations, holidays with family, concerts, the Chiefs, the Wildcats, cooking and baking, cake decorating, drawing, painting, creating arts and crafts, fishing, and riding her old pal, Bacon, the family horse. She loved life and was generous to a fault. Always thinking of others, she was caring and a friend for life. She was the most courageous person her family has ever known.
Survivors include: her mother, Cecelia Morse, Russell, Kansas; her father, Tim Morse, Timken, Kansas; her brother, Seth Morse, New Braunfels, Texas; her sister, Allie Seltman, Alexander, Kansas; her paternal grandmother, Dianne Morse, Great Bend, Kansas, and her beloved cats, Frank and Pearl.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Edna Schoendaller; and her paternal grandparents, J. Howard Morse, Jr. and Vicky Morse.
Per Dana’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation.
Memorial service will be Monday, January 23, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Liebenthal, Kansas, with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Inurnment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family request memorials to the Dana M.Peterson Memorial Fund.
