The Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science would like to thank NetWork Kansas for awarding our FIRST Robotics Team #9551 with a $20,000 grant. FIRST Robotics is a global robotics community where 3.2 million students from over 100 countries participate, building industrial-sized robots to compete in a timed field game against other competitors. In Kansas, our team makes up one of twenty-five and is the only team west of I-35. Partnering with Thomas More Prep-Marian High School, Hays High School and STEM Harvest, this initiative combines community and schools together in an effort to promote STEM education.
NetWork Kansas’ award aims to drive innovation and excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics within Ellis County. This will certainly benefit our students as they continue advancing their robots while participating in national FIRST competitions. We are excited to utilize this funding and see the positive outcomes the grant will bring.
Thank you, NetWork Kansas, for this investment in Ellis County’s STEM education!
