LOGAN COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 2:30p.m. Thursday in Logan County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Peterbilt semi driven by Juan Espino Hernandez, 49, Garden City, was southbound on U.S. 83. just north of Jayhawk Road. The semi struck the driver side of 2025 Toyota Rav4 driven by Besa Gashi Xani, 43, Astoria, New York, who had slowed and started to turn east on Jayhawk Road.
EMS transported Gashi Xani and a passenger Shpend Xani, 49, Astoria, New York to the hospital in Oakley. Espino Hernandez was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
