HAYS - Hays High football honored their seniors on Friday night ahead of the game with the Topeka High Trojans.

Hays opened the game by scoring on their first six drives on the way to a 62-33 victory. The 62 points is tied for the fourth most scored in school history.

Malik Bah scored on three rushing touchdowns while Carter Graham threw three scores to Jarek Purdy and Ian McGuire added a touchdown rush of his own. The Indians led 48-20 by halftime.

Topeka scored on three big plays. The Trojans put points on the board with a 61 yard run on third down, an 86 yard kickoff return, and a 29 yard pass.

Bah played just beyond the first quarter. He finished with 167 yards and three scores on ten carries.

McGuire scored a pair of second half rushing touchdowns on his way to 198 rushing yards. Topeka scored a wild touchdown after recovering a fumble that was preceded by an interception on the same play and an eight yard touchdown rush against the junior varsity.

Hays compiled 529 yards of offense. Graham threw for 154 yards.

The Indians improve to 6-2. Topeka falls to 1-7. Unofficially the Indians will be the seven seed in 5A West and host Valley Center in week nine.
