KDOT
The Kansas Department of Transportation has started work on a guardrail maintenance and replacement project along U.S. 36 in eastern Phillips County.
The work is being done at various locations on approximately 7 miles of U.S. 36 starting near E. 300 Road and ending at the Smith County line. Most of the project activity will take place on the highway shoulder with minimal traffic impacts expected. Occasional lane closures may be necessary at times, and traffic will be directed through those work zones by flaggers.
KDOT expects the project to be completed in November, conditions permitting.
Bettis Asphalt and Construction Inc. of Topeka is the primary contractor for the $1.7 million project.
